too bad I can't acces the TDA1541S1 dac in my revox b226s cd player with some kind of digital in. The differences between the dacs were truly minuscule
@SparK17299 Yes! We discover this time and time again in blind listening tests. It makes me wonder if some peoples very strong opinions on a certain DAC is mostly built from the emotional impact of the device itself. Be sure to check out Tim doing a blind test featuring 5 or 6 DACS setup in a 1:1 comparison in this review (direct link to segment) th-cam.com/video/jyEHH6Sh01Q/w-d-xo.html&si=bilsJYAYbQMyhmZP
Ah, the revolutionary bell/chime tones of the '80s made popular by the Yamaha DX7 synth with its distinctive teal colored controls. The ante was upped by Roland's multitimbral D50. They shaped the music of the time as synth pop came of age.
I never liked anything but the EP sounds of the DX7... but strangely, grew to love the distinct sound. The D-50 on the other hand... what a dream machine.. The two together... ohh yeah...
After the recession in 79 the 80s were all about corporate cost cutting ever since. Sure there was nice gear such as this but with the downfall of hifi stores and in house financing it was unknown and out of reach for the average consumer. Nice to see and hear it now beautiful gear, thank you
There is more "air" and "space" in the sound with the Denon's on-board DAC playing the music. It's the same with my Marantz CD80 and CD94... I have tried many DACs and own a Musical Fidelity DAC and a Marantz DAC... I connect them to my Sony Blu-ray players - that definately improves the sound.
