Hmm these klipsch got bass and do seem to sound really really great and play loud but are super cheap…where is the catch?
Home Theater Amplifier 😮
I am very curious 🤔 to know how these Technics compare to the Cabasse Rialto active speakers. Both are in the same price range and concept.
proccesed audio ilike to see the eq's
What a bargain rolleyes
Excellent review, thank you. The 5000 speakers in my humble opinion would look pretty stellar in dark American walnut, that piano black is just hideous to my eyes.
I'm old enough to know that paid reviews are exactly that, paid reviews.
Stjernholm! Can you make a video about the awesome pointsource synergy horn from Sebastian? He is now upgrading them btw! I think this is my future endgame speaker..
I'll stick with my Revels, quarter of the price and sound at least as good.
Active €3500 speakers vs passive €700 speakers...
Interesting review but for me too narrowly focused on some aspects of usability. I am planning to get a DMP-A6 Master Edition because sound quality is most important to me. I have no streamer currently and prefer physical CD media even though I systematically rip all my CDs on to my NAS. I dislike some of the popular streaming services finding their UIs actually counterintuitive. I see you own Primare - me too - but you can't tell me the Primare CD player controls are super quick and intuitive - they're not. And the display is so minimalist, it's almost superfluous. It's subjective. We mustn't forget it's about the music - not gadget value. I think Eversolo has done an amazing job providing access (however complex) to enormously rich functionality in such an attractive package with outstanding value. I am sure I will only use a subset of its capabilities. With the end of FM radio here in Switzerland coming on December 31st for our national radio provider, I have to find alternative ways to listen to my favourite stations and replace my beloved tuner. All the best from Switzerland, Rob
Your reviews are quickly becoming my favorites! I am looking at getting Buchardt A10s or cabasse rialtos. You have reviewed the A10s already and would love to have a comparison with the Rialtos!!
As one report stated impedancy can drop at 2.1 ohms. Very demanding load for many amps.
my 888's were delivered today, upgrading from Klipsch RP8000II...
@br549-c4q Let us know your experiences with it in comparison!
Morten, what I am missing here is a stereo comparison with your Nuprime Evolution mono blocs. It is also Class D, so what? 🙃
Nice to hear some RATT
lol. $5000 is not cheap.
Just found this channel. Excellent review. The Only thing missing is how this performs/sounds when hooked to something like the LS50 Meta and their 85dB efficiency. What Integrated amp would work with LS50 Meta or Sonus Faber Lumina 2 etc. low efficiency 4ohm/3.5ohm at like 80 decibels (maybe 85 Max) I liked and subscribed. Great review.
Really interested in those dalis. How do you like them? How do you think they compare to the Radiants except the bass (would have a subwoofer for that). I am actually thinking about getting the Dali Epicon 2, have you ever heard those by chance? If not, how do the Rubicore compare to other speakers?
So,You Like it?
@ralphrotten Yes, as long as you dont need the shortcomings it has in the tested version.
assuming the floorboards are parralel in the room.. why on earth do you have the left speaker toed away from the listening position? it looks super weird. Pretty much all speakers need at least some toe in, or you're listening way way off axis
@1061shrink1061 Ofcurse you can toe out a speaker more, just like you can toe them in to the extreme depending on the conditions. In this case I found a better sound image by getting a little more reflections from the room that is treated to EBU standard. In a very reflective room I might have been on axis. It all depends on what works best in the situation.
Would you in “the real life” be able to hear the difference compared with latest purify modules in a DIY construction, I wonder?
Could you pls. ask Lyngdorf how they manage to produce 3.2kW of power by drawing max 500W from the mains? Many cold nuclear fusion researchers would be extremely interested to find out. You referenced the NAD M23 2-channel amp in the video. That is labelled to consume 900W max..
The 510W label reflects legal compliance for average continuous use. The amp’s true capability lies in its ability to handle massive dynamic peaks, leveraging capacitor reserves, high efficiency, and optimal load management. This is why marketing can claim 8x400W while staying within EU regulations. Here is how: Backplate Power vs. Output Power: The backplate shows 510W because of safety and regulatory standards (EN/UL 62368). This is based on the “normal operating condition,” defined as 1/8th of maximum rated power. The manufacturer cannot claim more than this under EU law without being considered misleading. However, real-life power draw depends on audio content, which is dynamic, not continuous. Crest Factor and Music Power: Audio signals have a “crest factor,” meaning their peaks are much higher than their average levels. For music, this could be 15 dB or more, meaning peak power can be 31.6 times the average. So, an amp capable of 3200W output (8x400W) only needs a fraction of that continuously, aligning with the 510W consumption label. Efficiency Considerations: With 80% efficiency, delivering 3200W to speakers requires about 4000W input. Some of this becomes heat. For this amp, 800W is expected heat loss under full load. Universal Mains and Power Delivery: The amp handles global voltages (100-240V), adjusting current accordingly. Higher voltages reduce current demand, minimizing power loss due to resistance. Energy Reservoir and Burst Power: Large capacitors store energy, allowing the amp to deliver bursts of power beyond what the wall socket provides momentarily. This explains how the amp can output over 10kW briefly, though it can’t sustain this due to fuse and thermal limits. Real-World Example: In a stress test with 120V input, the amp drew peaks of 11kW due to energy storage in capacitors. This shows its capacity to deliver extreme power bursts despite limited wall socket supply. I have posted a 7 page write up PDF on it in the "making hifi great again" facebook group.
Viewing this review I used my Lyngdorf MP-40 and MXA-8400 for the best experience! 😎 Best amplifier I have had or tested.
How do they perform compared to the Dali Kore ? I have heard the Dali Kore but not Dali Epikore.
So it's 8 x 400W meaning it should consume 3.2kW but in reality it's rated at 510W on the back lol. Do some math people, since this amp is Class D it's about 90% efficient so total useable power is 459W, divide that by 8 channels and you get 57W real power per channel RMS. It's simple law of thermodynamics. That 400W bogus number is peak power with probably shit ton of distortion. Even if its rated as 2 channel it adds up to 800W so over the power consumption limit again.
Indeed you're right but I'm pretty sure it can produce much more than 57W per channel with 2 channels driven, probably about 200W RMS at 8 and 4 Ohm. With clever PSU implementation it may be able to dynamically allocate up to that that much to 2 channels (or more to a single channel) with all channels driven under real music conditions. Distortion in Class D tends to remain very low until the onset of clipping.
@@razisn Even if that is so, I don't know if a single module can handle 200W RMS. But anyway, If you want to get real power, look up the Musical Fidelity gear, their numbers on almost all of their products actually check up. Rotel also.
@@dragonstone6594 Those Eigentakt modules are specified by Purify to 425W 4ohm at 1% THD (given adequate power supply of course). So Lyngdorf says 3200W since they use 8 of the modules, no matter that the system as a whole only seems able to support only 1 of these modules at its full power... It is of course a classic case of misleading marketing, bad enough but just not as bad as you make it to be.
@@Echo-jg8is Each Eigentakt module is specified to 425W under 4 ohm load at 1% THD (given adequate power supply of course). It is true that with 510W max consumption just 1 of the 8 channels can be driven to its max, so Lyngdorf seem extremely misleading in their marketing claims here, but what you're saying about 50 or 25watts is inaccurate.
@@dragonstone6594 I happen to be a very long time MF user but that is irrelevant to this discussion. Those Purify Eigentakt modules are extremely good and I'm pretty sure this Lyngdorf amp is good too as a multichannel medium powered AV amp. It is just not a 3.2kW amp as their marketing implies. With double the power supply capability it could also have been an excellent medium--high powered amp for 2 channels.
I'd like you to test and review your neighbor's Arendal 1528 speakers
Just imagine this beauty tri-amping a set of full range speakers, with crossover settings on the preamplifier... JA!!
I need an MXA-2100 plus an MP-20 (2 stereo pairs + 2 subs). - - - Lyngdorf has excellent products but too few options, e.g. what about a TDAI 3400 without amplifier stage but more digital outs? Or better an MP-20...
I just saw a review on these speakers but all they did was give their opinion and how much they cost. This is great
This is by far the best audio video I’ve ever seen. You let us decide what we like, not an entire video of your own opinion ❤
Appreciate that
@@stjernholmreviews I hope you will get a chance to compare the Buchardt E50s when they come out to the Clarity 6.2s! Great job on the review. Love your videos.
Wished they also only made this as a two channel amp. Is it usable with a high gain tube pre ?
of curse.
Another interesting and helpful review! 💯 Have you ever had the chance to listen to there SDA 2400 and compare ? Thanks
The MXA is a big improvement. I never really liked the SDA and 3400 Power amps. This is almost end-game for me. Its brilliant and soooo clean.
My favorite track no. 2 Josefines julesalme. Strongly recommend ;-)
Great review, how I've been looking for it. You are my savior. I have so many questions, and only you have the answers. I'm buying a Technics SU-G700mk2 and I want a new Bluesound note for it. Use it as a streamer bypassing the DAC (as you used) 1. Can I control the active subwoofer when G700mk2 digitally connected in the blueos app, or does it make no sense? , I did not find any information about management in Technics. Or connect the wireless from bluesound? 2. Audio from hdmi eARC without delay bypassing bluesond dac goes to Technics? And is it possible to equalize the sound 3. Dirac live support will appear in the new Node and Node Icon, does it make sense if we skip the bluesound dac? If room correction is not possible in this case, then there is no point in overpaying 4. (Last 😊) I will be launching my bluesound from my phone from another room, but how do I launch technics remotely? I have re-read the entire instructions for the G700, is there an automatic activation when a toslink or coaxial signal appears? Or does the “control” socket correspond to the “trigger in” socket? Then it's done with one wire, because Bluesound has it! Thanks in advance
6 db is twice as loud, not 10 db, 100 watt + 6 db is 400 watt 10db = 1000 watt instead of 100 watt
@gasolin75 I think you mix up loudness perception with power levels in audio systems. Loudness Perception: A 6 dB increase is not perceived as “twice as loud.” Perceived loudness doubling occurs closer to a 10 dB increase for most people. A 6 dB increase is perceived as noticeable but not doubling in loudness. Power and Decibels: • +3 dB = Double the power. • +6 dB = Four times the power. • +10 dB = Ten times the power. For example: • Starting with 100 watts: • +3 dB → 200 watts • +6 dB → 400 watts • +10 dB → 1,000 watts This is why achieving large increases in dB requires exponentially more power. Acoustic Efficiency: While power increases are exponential, perceived loudness grows slower. This is why a 10 dB increase (10 times the power) is subjectively “twice as loud,” not 6 dB. So, 100 watts with a 6 dB gain requires 400 watts of power but is not perceived as twice as loud. To double perceived loudness, you need a 10 dB gain, which requires 1,000 watts. This is why a speakers sensitivity relative to the required output and your amps power is so important. Especially with big dynamics. Hope this clears it up.
Can you all please review the new Treble Clef Audio TCA-M Active Loudspeakers ? Thanks ! Finally a Major-Breakthrough for Loudspeakers ! 😇
@DeepHorizon3773 Coming in the new year! Check the patreon.
@17:30 no high pass filter for the speakers is a no go, dealbreaker.
@kingtubbyleeperry it really should depend on why you want to add a sub. If to get more headroom, yes. But if its to only add the deepest response, say under 50 Hz, the results could be ok.
@ Using a high pass on that little woofer will also decrease distortion in the lower mid/bass.
Opskalerer videoafspilleren DVD?
Yes
Total score for TDAI 1120 ?
WoW, the subwoofer question came before the subjectif was adressed!!
Thanks!! Interesting and compelling Review!! In your opinion, is an éventual subwoofer necessary?!??
Only if you want the last octave
One of my favourite 'Austin Powers' character was 'Fat Bastard.'
You make it sound as if 2500 euro is budget class. I advised my niece a nice 2.1 system for 700 euro and she called that price insane.
Audiophile perspective 🙂
Love the ending 👌🏻 can it be found on any platforms?
Not sure what you mean by that?
@stjernholmreviews The music in the end
@@nickej7008 Ohh.. That is available to the Channel Patreons as a download.
love your videos but the jingle Stjernholm Reviews is way overused in your video plus it is WAY too loud. Every time it drops ( I watch your videos on my main system ) the bass drop is club level loud. Please stop using it to split sections on your videos. Again please take my comment as a positive. :)
i love the jingle !
@@jungtarcph TBH I dont hate the jingle itself. But if you have subs in your system and want to hear the recordings he made while listening to the technics system then the jingle is in my opinion way too loud. Just like on TV when they play the ads much louder grab your attention.
@@pumpituphomeboy The reviews are mixed in a cinematic style. The breaks help you not dozing off. I love that you play it on your main system with subs. If those are set a big high, the BASS of the jingle can be violent, admittedly! I will make sure the breaks are a bit lower in the future. Check the next review.
@@stjernholmreviews Thanks for the follow up reply. I like the break effect of the jingle and I liked the initial bass drop at the start of the video. My subs are not running hot the issue for me the pressure wave resulting from the bass drop that the jingle produces from my 6 subs. If I play your video at a low enough volume for the jingle to not bother me then I cannot hear the video content properly. I suggest running the jingle through a compressor / limiter to keep it inline with the main audio track. As always thank you so much for the amazing content. I hope my comment didn't cause any upset.
