    The 4K HDMI module look very very convenient...!!! What a wonderful idea...!!! In today's reality (apartments primarily, but houses too) the TV space is also the "listening room" and the living room...

    Is there a way to connect two REL S510 Subwoofers?... Would these be connected via the RCA Analog Outputs or elsewhere?

    • @SteinLyng
      @SteinLyng  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sure - the REL Subwoofers can be connected at their LFE input, and the TDAI-3400 analog pre-out can be configured as subwoofer outputs for left and right (with low pass filter and following the main volume level).

    Dear, Are the additional modules user installable or does one need to return the unit?

    • @SteinLyng
      @SteinLyng  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The analog module can be installed by our nearest Lyngdorf dealer - it’s a module but it still has to be wired correctly inside the unit. The HDMI module requires some extensive testing with video signals and therefore it has to be done at Lyngdorf Audio in Denmark. Your Lyngdorf Audio dealer will take care of all logistics together with us, and all is included in the price.

    Would having the SDA-2400 AMP with this TDAI 3400 offer better sound for full rainge (22hz to 20khz) floorstanding speakers that are reasonably easy to drive at 91db at 8ohm? I noitced that the TDAI-3400 is 200w into 8 ohm and the SDA 2400 is also 200w into 8 ohm so is there an advantage to adding the SDA-2400 Amplifier to the TDAI 3400 and if so, what might they be?

    • @SteinLyng
      @SteinLyng  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The power specs and performance specs are essentially the same, so there’s no big advantage. Instead, one more cable connection between the components. There might be a slight advantage that the TDAI-3400 used as pre-amp has its own power supply, and the SDA-2400 its own power supply, too. But the TDAI-3400 alone would already be fully capable to drive such a loudspeaker.

      @@SteinLyng and with a TDAI-3400 + SDA-2400 combo can I setup 2 bookshelf speakers + 2 BW-3 speakers + 2 additional Subwoofers? My goal would be to support and ease my main speakers with the two BW speakers in bypass mode, up to 800Hz, and I would use 1 or 2 additional subwoofers that would dig really deep, below 27Hz. I would connect the front speakers on the SDA that is connected with the TDAI with digital coax , then connect the BW-3 on TDAI's XLR, and connect the subs on the RCA. Would that be possible and make sense - e.g. use Roomperfect as well?

      @@tamasp4467 Hi Tamas, Theoretically it is possible to do as you suggest, but I am wondering why you are not using the internal power stage of the TDAI-3400? Power is the same as from the SDA-2400. Also bear in mind that there is only one line output channel, available as balanced on XLR connectors and unbalanced phonos. So you can not have separate filters, distance settings, processing delay settings etc for the two subs in your setup. Sub filtering must then happen in the subs themselves, and avoiding overlap between the subs will be a challenge.
      RoomPerfect will work in your suggested setup, but I believe it will be easier to get a good result if you can find one sub that does all you need.

    Can this alone drive Burmester b100 or any speaker for that matter ?

    • @SteinLyng
      @SteinLyng  ปีที่แล้ว

      It might be an unusual combination price-wise, but the TDAI-3400 provides high current and high voltage. Even though the Burmester goes down to 3 ohm, its sensitivity is rather high, so it can work well, yet always depending on the room size.

    Can the USB A play from USB Sticks or does it have to be a USB hard drive?... Also could the 3400 unit be used in passthrough mode so it's just a DAC/Streamer using Room perfect then going out either via it's digital out to say a Hegel H590 (the reason I ask this is the TDAI 3400 and correct me if I'm wrong, cannot run Analog out to dual subs via say the Analog RCA outs and then also run the Analog XLR's out to a pair of monoblocks for connection to the speakers)... So I would need to use the TDAI 3400 as a digital room correction device and then run it out via digital coax to the Hegel H590 or something similar to get the dual subs and monoblocks running at the same time? (I've heard that the Analog RCA and XLR's can run in parrallel but would wouldn't wreak havoc on the crossover settings in the software to set it correctly)... Is this correct as far as you know?

    • @SteinLyng
      @SteinLyng  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the TDAI-3400 can play from USB sticks as well. You’ll find the Media Player Specs on our website under Downloads.
      The TDAI-3400 can also be set as a Streamer / RoomPerfect processor by disabling the speaker output stage, fixing the volume level, and using either the analog or ideally the digital output.
      You are right about the parallel use of RCA and XLR analog outputs: They are not intended to be used in parallel with two different devices. First of all you’d build a direct signal link between these two devices, and second all Analog Output settings in the TDAI-3400 menu apply to both analog outputs. For example, any crossover would also affect the monoblocks, and RoomPerfect would have no chance to adjust your subs and your monoblocks simultaneously.
      What can be set independently are the analog output(s) and the digital output.

    What are the connections for running the unit as a passthrough from another high end preamp DAC out to separate Monoblocks and running two subwoofers at the same time?

    • @apcmsemain3788
      @apcmsemain3788 ปีที่แล้ว

      Or can you run 2 subs from the unit and then gonoutbto separate more power Monoblocks or stereo power amps? As I read somewhere they cannot be run together as the RCA and XLR analog puts run in parallel and can't work together? If that's the case how would you run this unit to an even higher end set of Monoblocks for different sound signature whilst running two subwoofers from it and utilising room perfect to correct it all?

    • @SteinLyng
      @SteinLyng  ปีที่แล้ว

      Passthrough meaning no RoomPerfect, Voicing, or Crossover alignment? What will the TDAI-3400 be used for?
      An external DAC Preamp can be connected to the TDAI-3400’s analog input, and routed through with fixed volume level to two analog outputs, RCA and XLR. But these are not intended to be used in parallel, because you’d build a direct link between the Monoblocks and the subwoofers. When used in parallel, you ‘d also not benefit from the convenient subwoofer settings in the DSP settings and aligning the subwoofer with RoomPerfect.
      Ideal would be subwoofers with digital input, which can be set differently in the TDAI-3400 menu.
