Wonder why they never did this song live after this. One of the few good songs from 21st (imo), and they did a great job live with it. Should've been a single.
Bob Setter it sounds a kind of a hard song to do live, in terms of vocals. He has to switch between full voice and falsetto so many times and they have to be rather quick. It's a rather difficult song to perform live
Virgil Lewis Yes it is physically difficult to sing, probably more than 21 Guns or even more Still Breathing, which Billie has sung a lot (and I hope he'll continue!). This first live performance of RHS is very successful in spite of - and probably thanks to - the vocal arrangements and the great emotions that go with it all. I think RHS has not been sung more than twice also because it's psychologically hard to sing. I mean, to me it's the most painful and sad of all their songs. As dark, raw and true as can be, I love it and relate so much to it. I'm listening non-stop now because I'm in the mood and I'm lonely. I will need some RevRad later. :'(
@@damianfalton5267 i mean, Billie is a pretty good singer. He slightly struggles with high notes. There are no high notes in this song. Yes im from the gdc lol. And you are?
I don't think Billie really has any problem singing it.The main reason why Green Day sounds good live is because they don't edit their voice that much in the studio.Maybe he likes it this way.He can reach really high notes, and this song is easy as fuck when you can sing Going to Pasalcqua properly, that he can.
It's not the same as singing Going To Pasalacqua. The moments/timing to reach to high notes are not the same. The lyrics follow their course very differently, up and down, much slower, and harder in a psychological way too. (Yeah, I realize I'm answering to a 5-year-old comment.)
So cool u went to this concert. I wish I could have gone, but I was only 13, and in 2009 was when I started liking Green day music a lot when I became a fan.
I think i would just cry my heart out to hear this song live... Especially after knowing what happened in Vegas was caused by his addiction... I guess it's one of the hardest song to sing for Billie :/
Thanks for upload this, its one of my favorite songs by Green Day and theres no live versions... and sorry for my bad english xD - Zup' from Costa Rica
@Stephan902 No they did a whole tv special on this, I have no clue what you are talking about. It was before their album came out in 2009. I watched it live then.
This song I've heard is about his substance abuse of alcohol and pills, therefor he always felt terrible thinking of the song. and I think that's why they never play it live. And yeah I do realize I'm replying a 2 years old comment lol :p
Billie Joe messed up some of the words. In the beginning, its suppose to be emergency, he says pharmacy, and the other verse he says emergency, he says pharmacy. I feel bad, but it still works.
Wow, sounds difficult for Billie Joe to sing that high that high. I give him credit though, he actually did alright! Wish they tried to play this live more though, its one of the best of the 21st Breakdown Album.

PS : Anyway, I agree Billie must like it that way, and I more than like it!
2:53 is probably one of the most epic things in music. it suck that we never got to see it being performed live :(
2:53 for a link lol
besides i was there, this is their most underrated song
9 years later, it's still cap.
So cool u went to this concert. I wish I could have gone, but I was only 13, and in 2009 was when I started liking Green day music a lot when I became a fan.

I love this song is very great ^^billie voice is very BEAUTIFULL♥
@Mattporter18 no cameras were allowed and the security was very strict so it´s only a audio recording

@cardica1990 You can download RealPlayer and then download the video and then transfer it into MP3 format...it's pretty easy :)
1:02 So Send me ToOooOoOOo!
@shadowxxs6 because.. it's very hard to play for them.. Billie Joe said they were recording this song for very long time..
Billie should have performed this in the acoustic part of the tour
@shadowxxs6 because not alot of ppl have downloaded it and like it so its not requested

Eu amo demais essa música.
This is a REALLY hard song to sing. I have to switch octaves when I sing it, I can see why he wouldn't want to preform it live. It's still great tho.
It is live
Why haven’t they performed this live again?
@LanaGame He made it very slick ;) if you hadn't say anything I wouldn't have notice it :D
APRIL 14 IS MY BIRTHDAY! LOL
thay are terabul live and under pressure with out pressure thay cool
someone musy have got a video, and did you go to the show?
i love this song i hate this video -.-
how isn't there a video of this??? and how did you get this??
Why was he pissed? :o
Bingo.
@shadowxxs6 :)
he swapped 'emergency' and 'pharmacy' :/
When did he say that?
you can hear a guy screaming "Jason!" at 0:14
I heard "Green Day" ??
Doubt it, probably Jason Freese
Hei

he messed up the lyrics! lol
Was it Billie Joe on the piano?
QUIT STALKING ME!!!!!!!! jk Ily
they probably dont play it live ever for its difficulty. you can tell even billie struggles singing it a bit cos its a pretty hard song to sing
its suck a good song why dont they play it live.
I love this performance but god damn
Billie fuckin butchered the lyrics here
thats against human rights
Yeah somethings wrong in his head;/
