The arrival of the plane is a wake-call for the the judicious diversification of natural resources into profitable ventures. West Africa has a population of over 300 million people within 15 countries, having over 40 airports with the largest economies in Africa. Yet there is no strong airline and no airport hub in West and Central Africa. But things haven't always been like this. Nigeria Airways, Ghana Airways and Air Afrique were major players, which collapsed with the era of the International Monetary Fund induced devaluations and age old mismanagement. Today, 80 per cent of all traffic in West Africa is carried by non African carriers and about 15 per cent by non West African carriers...

Aircraft should have an attachment either on the lower top or wings of the plane, that attachment should bear the parachutes that can be manually controlled by the pilot so as to avoid plane crash when engine failure occurs on the plane, in that way the affected plane will land slowly by the help of an attached parachute. That's how to prevent loss of lives and it will also be an advantage to prevent damage and fire that can occur during plane crash

It wasn't for the plane. The US first lady had arrived hours ago to Ghana and was welcomed in the Ghanaian traditional way by traditional dancers which coincided with the commissioning of the the new terminal. The A380 was a gesture by Emirates to provide the highlight to the commissioning of the new terminal and that was why the Ghanaian pilot was made to captain its maiden flight to Ghana. The dancers just participated in the event after their main event

Everything you see except the people is imported. Even the high vis jackets. Us Africans do not make anything. Lets put the drumming and dancing on hold until we've built and flown our own made in African A380 or even A01 for a start. Nothing is impossible. Every single raw material that built that plane can be found in abundance in Africa. Drumming and dancing for a jumbo? Where is our pride?
