the "i'm moved, shoyo-kun" lacked the context behind it in this scene. the whole line in the manga was "he doesn't care if the set is short or low. it doesn't matter if its close to the net either. if his setter gave his all in putting that ball up, he'll take it everytime. i think I'm actually moved, shoyo-kun"
Yea they cut alot of stuff from the manga from season 4. I highly recommend anybody that enjoys the series to read the manga from heading to Nationals on (and probably backtracking to the Tokyo Qualifiers as well) after finishing the anime
I think it was better with more nuance lmao. It's a negative trope of anime to explain everything in blunt terms. Having Atsumu simply express his admiration, letting us figure out why, is so much better.
@@Meshiik Yeah I think the phrase "wouldn't be as good" fits this perfectly. Like, the exposition itself isn't bad. The line is good and all, Furudate is an excellent writer, but it's just that it's BETTER without it. And it's more natural.
What got me in this episode was seeing Aoba Josai. Seeing Kindaichi’s face looking like he was on the edge of his seat and then Shigeru screaming “It doesn’t matter if you’re tired. TRY HARDER” Legit made me tear up. These aren’t villains our MC’s are up against. They are just other MC’s. They LOVE the sport and seeing the people that finally beat them go this hard and go this far is incredibly inspirational to them. They all respect each other and I just love that so much. That’s why Haikyu!! Has grown to be in my top 5 anime of all time.
One of my favorite scenes of this entire anime 12:14 Kageyama: "Complain, damn it," Hinata: "Complain? Why? Give me the next one too! ^_^" ❤🔥 This is when Hinata became Himnata. Can't wait for next episode T_T
1) That whole sequence between Daichi and Kita from 4:35 to 4:58 and Kita's smile at the end is basically telling us that both of their ways are correct. Kita acknowledges it. So mature. 2) The pass to Tanaka, pushing him beyond his limits - so much trust between teammates - and then Tanaka's sister being so proud of him. Beautiful scene. 3) Hinata's save at the end, and Kageyama being motivated by his own teammate to do better (and Atsumu being inspired too). So good. Haikyuu!!! The writing is so good. :D
When Hinata has unknowingly earned the respect and admiration of Atsumu you know he's good. Hinata is exactly what Atsumu hoped his brother would be who loves volleyball just a bit less than him.
When the next episode preview for this episode was released they showed the shot with Oikawa's ear and that 2 second shot was enough for him to trend on Twitter for hours lmao
This match is probably the best match in the show so far. I love everything about it and I love both teams equally, I wouldnt be sad if either of them takes it home! Just unbelievable storytelling, incredible work of art.
haikyuu is the only anime i know where we cheer for the main characters, but also, every single fan i know has found a secondary character that is their absolute favorite whom they love the most. yours is kita of course xD
I should call this woman out for rooting for the other team but it really speaks to how good this show is that it makes you really root for players on opposing teams

Both are such low key players but still very important to the team dynamic. Great reaction as usual cant wait for the next one.
