       @Lufthansa452 Almost. Except the train bridge will open for commercial operation in December 2022 - earlier than the remodeled Stuttgart central station. Fortunately the fast train tracks between Stuttgart and Ulm are not dependent on the Stuttgart21 train station to be finished. It will connect to the old tracks at Wendlingen and this connection is already being built. Therefore Stuttgart-Ulm will be able to open earlier.
      They are already laying rails almost everywhere. The bridge is not finished yet but getting there. Actually, in reality they are two parallel bridges and one is already ready for tracks and power lines to be installed. Can't wait to try this out.

    This stretch has lost a lot of danger. In my childhood in the sixties I still remember the memories of my mother. During a passage of this stretch on the way to our winter holidays we suddenly realized that our car has lost ground control with two tires. At that time in winter both streches were extremely exposed to winterly weather conditions.

    5:20 - the construction of the two-lane Lämmerbuckeltunnel began in autumn 1937. The tunnel was completed in 1942. After that, however the tunnel was converted into a underground factory for compressors and aircraft engines for the companies Heller and Daimler-Benz. The location was perfect in wartime because the factory was almost invisible from the air and perfectly sheltered. Residential complexes for the workers were also set up in the tunnel. In 1945 the Lämmerbuckeltunnel - like many other bridges and tunnels - was blown in the air by the retreating Wehrmacht.
    The rest of the motorway was finished in May 1957, so that the tunnel could be handed over to its original purpose after being cleared from rubble and being rebuild.

    Ich würde sehr gerne noch Mitfahraufnahmen vom alten Albaufstieg A8 vor den 90er Jahren sehen, damals hat halt kaum einer gefilmt und wenn dann auf Super 8 mit kurzer Laufzeit. Wenn man von Stuttgart Richtung München fuhr, kann ich mich an eine große dunkle Wand auf der linken Seite in einer langgezogenen Rechtskurve erinnern.

      Don't be too sure that it's not required @@Volksinformant - it might totally get you into trouble with lawyers who have specialized in writing warnings for violating laws ("Abmahnanwälte"). If something like this happens, you can decide to either pay what the lawyer demands (usually a few hundred Euros), or take the matter to the courts, with a risk of ending up paying much more.
      In fact, a very well known German trucking dashcammer has apparently been affected from this shit just the other day. I wouldn't be too surprised if this very case was what triggered this channel to remove its other videos from Germany.

    • @lane0mator
      @lane0mator 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@joen507 Not really. Some highways are in a poor condition like the A8 between Wendlingen and Hohenstadt, but other ones are in a really good condition like the A96 from Memmingen to Lindau. It really much depends on the history of the highways and the traffic load on it. The A8 is one of the mostly driven highways in southern Germany with a high load of heavy vehicles on it. The A96 has much less traffic and is mostly driven by people going on holidays in western Austria, eastern Switzerland or Italy during the vacation times. Some parts of the A8 have more than 100.000 vehicles/24 h, others like the A96 have roughly 20.000-35.000/24 h.

      @@kaffeice7 Several years ago I encountered a state traffic checkpoint, and they demanded to know where I was going and what I was going to do there. I told them it was none of their business. They didn't like it one bit and hassled me about it. After telling them over and over again that it was none of their business, they finally let me go.
      I'm American Indian and was going to be staying with some of my kin for a few days for reasons related to culture. We face all sorts of harassment and worse - we're hated by a significant portion of the people in large areas of this state (because so many of us can pass as white - as if we would want to) and indeed, my plans are my business and not theirs - and while what I was going to do was perfectly legal, ethical, and moral, there was (and still is) a real possibility they'd try to interfere. They're well known by us for doing just that. Racism is alive and well in America... and growing in strength.
      A few years later, I was stopped by sheriff's deputies who DEMANDED (in a loud and angry tone) to know why I was on the road and where I was headed (going home after picking up my wife at the airport). Puzzled, I asked him why he wanted to know that. He got really aggressive and hostile - even threatening, and wrote me a ticket for a broken tail-light (that wasn't) and ordered me to not move the car until after they left - sat on the side of the road for at least half an hour. After embarrassing the sheriff in a public letter, they admitted that he'd profiled us and the charges (outrageous and not affordable) were dropped.
      There are good (legal) reasons why people don't want their identities broadcast... and for some minorities, it's downright dangerous at times. In today's hostile and bigoted climate, it could even be lethal.
