Me too sir, I was around when the original was released and this is pretty damn good! What the hell happened to all those years in-between then and now my friend?
Funny vid ... Great ol song from my uni days ... I thought you were miming to the original ... But it's you singing. Well done. Did the remake chart at the time???
I expected disappointment. But what I got was a great cover. Loved it. Plus I really liked how they put the video together, complimented by his personality.
Not a bad version. I bought Nick Lowe's original recording on 45 single back in 1979 and I still like it. I prefer Nick Lowe's version but this one is very good.
Again:: THIS is the BEST COVER ever of this song! Kurt really punches it up, far more than Nick Lowe ever did! Why wasn't it a big hit in the USA? Nonetheless... 1. That Rickenbacker guitar! Wow! He let everyone play it in this video! I'd give my left Xxx to own and play any Rickenbacker! Especially a 12 string! (I play exclusively Fender -- Stratocaster, and Jazzmaster). But... 2. You've just got to love that guitar solo at 2:08, right after the good old 'Ooh ooh oh ooh oh ooo!" It REALLY Twangs that Ricky guitar! 3. So.. WhEN and WHERE do we get to see this rusty Kurt Baker here in the USA? Preferably here in Las Vegas?????
This is absolutely wonderful. Such a heartfelt, rare, and true cover of a wonderful song. And the video really is a fabulous complement in the appropriate spirit. A great tribute to a great song and a great musician and songwriter. Thank you for this!
First off, best cover of a great classic song. Second - It's sort of like Jesus gathering his "apostles" isn't it ? Today we would probably call them "roadies" or perhaps "band members". Third - Perfect, may we have some more please?
I dare ANYONE not to try to tap their fingers or their feet to this song. Trust me. It can't be done. If you can, then you're obviouly clinically depressed.
@mellowcups If the music industry is to survive in a realistic way then bands like these need to be signed up and nurtured. Proper singer, proper band and I imagine also a fun act to see live. Real music is free from Simon Cowell and other additives/contaminants
Better than the original ;^) Nick would be proud. The video is also super cute. Love how punchy and uptempo it is--almost has an early 00s pop feel (in a good way)
Wow! And I thought Nick Lowe put some punch into this song... I was right, but... Kurt Baker and friends REALLY put the pzzazzz into it! This is honestly even better than the original. I'm a guitar player from the '60s, and have always loved the guitar solo (right after the good old 'ooh-oooh-ooh- oooooooh!) which comes at 2:08 in this video, and once again, with the help of that amazing Rickenbacker guitar, it gets shot right into my brain even better than before! (What's with everyone sharing the Rickenbacker?) And... WHERE'S the drummer??? I could swear I hear drums in this song. Did ya fire him before you made the video? Overall, "yes Mr. Dick Clark -- I'd give this one a 100. Good beat and you can dance to it." (as they used to say on American Bandstand).
This is actually a great cover! Has a more modern sound, but still retains the charm of the original. 👍
I'm a dinosaur from when Nick Lowe released this back in '79, but I don't mind giving credit where credit is due, and this is great. Big thumbs up.
Me too sir, I was around when the original was released and this is pretty damn good! What the hell happened to all those years in-between then and now my friend?
I'm almost preferring this to the original. This dude has a slightly sexier voice and better range in my opinion
Your cover is dead on point. Just great
Great cover 🎶🎸
It's 2023 and I Love Love Love It!!!
Seems like too long since anyone left a comment here. This cover effing rocks! Thanks Kurt and company.
U did it justice yall 🫡

Can't believe I found this song randomly!!! yay!
Funny vid ... Great ol song from my uni days ... I thought you were miming to the original ... But it's you singing. Well done. Did the remake chart at the time???
Really nice cover of a great song. Fun and silly video. A metallic blue dreadnaught. All good things!
Wow! I was 14 when nick lowes version came out. This version is every bit as good!
I was around the same age. Loved the tune. I wouldn’t say this is as good. This is a bit campy and corny.
This has got to be one of the greatest covers ever so good 👍👍👍👍
Great version Kurt! Love your humor... The sound is perfect! Thank you for sharing your talents with all of us. Stay Gold!
This video is really in the spirit of Nick's video! Buncha guys goofing around. Also: nice cover!

Excellent cover. Kurt did Nick proud!
Better than the original, and I'm a Nick Lowe fan. A little more Elvis Costello vibe in this, which is awesome. Love it.
Mega nerd is awesome! Go Kurt you are amazing!

Again:: THIS is the BEST COVER ever of this song! Kurt really punches it up, far more than Nick Lowe ever did!
Why wasn't it a big hit in the USA? Nonetheless...

Nice cover / Nick Lowe would approve
Awsome
Lol is it bad that I thought this was originally by Letters to Cleo? Very good version and an awesome video :)
Best Cover Ever. Worst Video Ever. Love It!!!!
Oh i cant another heartache for fucksake' 😂😂😂👍🏼😉
Mui mui simpatico
Elvis Costello sings Nick Lowe with a bad haircut.
But it somehow works.....Top job, mate.
Not too absurd considering Lowe produced some Costello records. Power pop always finds a way to come full circle
Better than the original
Not bad at all. -Jesus Oldman
I'd love to party with these dudes!
🥰🍺🍻🍺🍻🍺
How are you guys now 😗
I dare ANYONE not to try to tap their fingers or their feet to this song. Trust me. It can't be done. If you can, then you're obviouly clinically depressed.
Nick Lowe is the man
Almost as good as the magicians ;)
Bells added, but everything is the same

If I were Holly, I think I'd get a restraining order against a certain Jedi. Jeebus.
Better than the original ;^) Nick would be proud. The video is also super cute. Love how punchy and uptempo it is--almost has an early 00s pop feel (in a good way)
Why do I like dogs to be happy
