I have a disassembly video about a Canon 70-200/4 lens which I have to access the USM motor. I guess the IS version is very similar, and you can use that video to remove the rear lens element group. I haven't disassembled that group, so I don't know how to do it, but check it, maybe it is easy to do it.
Hi, nice video Sir, I left my canon 70-200 f4 usm IS in a local repair guy to clean fungus, the front elements are now free of fungus but the rear elements still have visible fungus, I see from your video that the rear lens elements are housed in a black tube structure & it is this I need to access & clean glthe individual lenses myself, have you any tips?
I have a video about disassembling the 70-200/4 L lens (not for the reason of cleaning the lens elements), and following my video you can remove the rear lens unit. However, I haven't disassembled that part, so I don't know how to continue from there.
Good morning please can you tell me the name of the rubber bands that you mark with the corrector of the canon 70-200 f/4 L usm lens and where I can buy them thanks
A question please if there are 2 rubbers of the 3 screws on the side that are broken in one part in the canon 70-200 mm f/4 usm when marking them I have no problem thanks
Yes, you have to completely disassemble the lens. However, because of this lens is not expanding while zooming, most likely the "dust" particles are fungus.
i have the 70-200 f2.8 it looks like the front assembly is a bit different. there appears to be an additional metal ring, do you know how to disassemble it?
I don't know... I haven't done that before, and seems that there are no screws on the side of the front lens, so I don't know how to remove the front cover ring. Maybe check if there are screws under the focus rubber ring, or maybe there are disassembly video on youtube where it is shown how to disassemble the front of the lens.
Thanks!
Thank you for the donation, I appreciate it!
how about showing how to clean/remove fungus from the other end of that lens? i have the IS version.

Great tutorial thank you for sharing
Thank you for your comment, I'm glad that you like my video.
Hi, and thanks for the very informative video. I'm wondering : is the process identical for the IS version?
I don't know, I haven't disassembled the IS version.
Perfect video. Thanks.
Glad you liked it!
Bjr merci pour video ! est t'il possible que le champignon soit sur la lentille au milieu de l'objectif ? comment y arriver
Generally, it is not possible to separate the glued lens elements then put them back together perfectly.

I guess you mean the plastic rings around the screws... they are called collar / collars. Search for it on ebay, there are many for sale.

What is your question?
What if you have dust particles even further behind? There are more glasses.. Do you have to disesambly the whole lens ?
Yes, you have to completely disassemble the lens. However, because of this lens is not expanding while zooming, most likely the "dust" particles are fungus.
to remove the front glass where the front cover goes, only the screws from above are removed thanks
You're welcome!
