The OTF blade is meant to disengage if deployed and contacts soft tissue, it’s a safety feature/design. If an OTF is capable of impaling and stabbing into something when deployed with the switch it’s an illegal switchblade. So, no your Cobratec OTF knife isn’t low quality or broken, it’s totally fine. I got mine from DSGarms.com (they sell Mil/spec items,)and I got the Lightweight, D2 blade, no glass breaker. Everyone I show it to and handles it wants one, it’s a nice knife. “OTF Knife” ppl hate on Cobratec because they are too “proud” they paid $400 for their microtechs and benchmades OTFs so they have to say Cobratec is crap. I get the feeling they know it’s not, and I’d rather put that $$$ towards a nice firearm.
I like the honesty. It's not about utility, it's basically a dangerous fidget toy
I have collected Otfs & side openers for years. I have Microtechs, Piranhas, Benchmade, Etc. My collection ranges from budjet to expensive. If you are looking for a first Otf Cobratec would be the way to go. It wont break the bank and you will get a decent knife. I ordered the large CTK-1 and it will be here next week.
Yes you can use it as a utility knife
I just got mine in the mail the other day, so far I really like it. I added some oil lubrication and the action of the slide is much better. So far, very sharp from the factory. It will be a simple carry knife for either quick defense, or just for opening some boxes from time to time.
I was given one of these as a gift, an I love it.Its the perfect pocket knife for anyone an anybody when you need to cut something small!!!!
Not for a real utility. It's for self defense wouldn't you say. It's not a multi tool. Some of the cobra techs are you to 150 -200 but it does what the bench made and microtechs do for less of a price. Blades are d2 metal strong. Do agree the give on the Benchmade cobra tech and all are about the same to me. I have a cobra tech and bench made. Bench made was a little sharper but wont pay 325 for another, it's not like a gun it's only a knife they cut they stab they kill if need be lol
6:12... some models in the Grand Seiko line are, arguably of superior quality to a Rolex. In horology circles, we have a saying "Wear Rolex to impress people... Wear Grand Seiko to impress yourself"... and if you want to talk about Credor, Seiko's high-end brand, get ready to shell out $50k + for an Eichi 2 - if you can find one, they make about 25 watches a year...
This knife might be a small knife but the user can do serious damage to a thug who likes to attack innocent people especially in the NYC subway system!

You said, "For the price," over 5 times. How about, it's just a great product without the Microtech "Bend-over," price? Cobratec is just plain a good solid knife. Also, WE ALL KNOW WHAT OTF's ARE MEANT TO BE/OPERATE. One more thing, vary the tempo and time of how you speak. Monotone sucks!

I honestly forgot I made this review, lol - totally unscripted so there was probably some repetition. I still have the cobratec and haven't had any functional issues with it yet, but it still feels chunky in my pocket compared to a microtech. Great knife for the price ;)

I love mine ! Best part is it has a lifetime warranty also . If you get one you won’t be disappointed.

I still have the cobratec and use it all the time for opening boxes and such. Great little knife if you don't want to break the bank! I'm sure you already know this by now though lol.
How money
That's a $25 Atomic Defender with extra engraving on the housing. Don't waste your money
Just buy an Atomic knife it’s 1/3 off the price Ava the exact same Chinese produced item.
Do not buy I just got one and it is crap
