In Florida, at my mom-mom’s house, there is a pool nearby. Lots of wasps accidentally fly in the water and get stuck there. Since I am nice, I rescue the wasps from the water. They are usually very tired and do not try to sting me. Haven’t got stung yet so that is nice.

These small animals do understand human interaction. I remember when I was a kid, I was playing with a couple of friends around a fountain in a park, when we noticed a bee that had fallen in the water and was struggling to survive. I gently picked it up with the palm of my hand and placed it on the marble border. The three of us kept watching as it was slowly drying its wings and body to fly away. Unfortunately, before it was finished, my mom called me to go back home, so I just had to go. When I was a few meters away, I heard the other two kids scream with joy. I turned around and saw the bee flying towards me. I swear, it circled around me three times and then flew away. This may have happened longer than 40 years ago, but I still remember it as it was yesterday, and I still think that small creature circling around me was its way to say "thank you".

I never thought I would actually feel sympathy for a wasp before. Especially considering I used to have a phobia of bees when I was little up until I’ve managed to, I guess, grow out of it after high school
I'm always conflicted, because wasps and hornets have a big role of removing pests, but sadly, they also attack pollinators as well.

@@dreamwolf7302 when i was homeless almost a decade ago when i was 18 i used to pour my left over chaser for what ever alcohol i was drinking that night (always bought two litters never finished them lol only really needed the chaser for flavor additive to the rum xD) in a bush near the entrance to where i was camping then which resulted in Hornets bees etc constantly being around and in the bushes i dumped my leftover soda in. Me never having a issues with fearing them let them do their thing i unintentionally created a national deterrent for other people yet the swarm always left me alone probably because they knew i was the one supplying the goods 🤣🤣🤣 regardless i know from experience that bees etc are actually pretty awesome and its stupid easy to coexist with/exploit what they are...which are bad ass little guardians lol so thats awesome you experienced something similar xD on a off note relating to my drinking in case anyone cared to know i have two years sober from alcohol coming up on 2 and a half April 12 (still smoke weed though 🤣🤣🤣) also happy new years!

I’ve had that moment before with a fly. I found a fly in my packet of Raspberries that had been sitting in the fridge for about 2 days, when I first saw him, he was motionless, so I thought he was dead. But after a while he started to regain motion, so my plan was to look after him until he was able to live out on his own. But the problem was he wasn’t able to fly, due to how much the package must’ve moved about he had a damaged wing that he wasn’t able to move very well. I felt sorry for him because I knew he wouldn’t survive out in the wild on his own, so I decided to look after him, as a pet, and named him Jeffery.
Jeffery liked to crawl across my hand when I let him out his little house, he never gave up trying to fly, but every time he did he ended up falling down, sometimes I worry I’d end up losing him on the floor, but he never went too far. I took care of him, fed him well, and made sure he had plenty of exercise to add up to the flight he wasn’t able to do.
On the final day I noticed he was getting slow, and had trouble with his back legs, then he started to have trouble walking at all. I held him on my hand, and made sure I was with him for his final moment. I miss him every day.

I had a pet wasp once as a kid. I saved him from drowning and made him a lil house out of leaves while he dried off. Pretty sure my cat ate him tho. Rest In Peace lil dude
