    Really good video..!!
    Was burned back in 2005 and flown by chopper to 'Augusta Burn Center' where the good folks there saved My life,,..
    They had the 'Masters' going on there an there was a small engine airplane that had to make an emergency landing on Washington..!! Thank goodness that no one was hurt..!!

    sincere THANKS!, @Freewayjim, your hours & hours of work in producing these "insiders'" views' of various cities and routes is a Godsend. I am one of many who want to say thanks! and keep up the great work. This is a fantastic resource for thousands of people. Did you know that you were also adding to a historical and cultural record of these roads and places? Awesome!

    @VaFreeways -Thanks. The skyline looks a little bigger if you are looking down the hill from where I-520 is on the SC side of the river.

    Thank you very much for the kind words, I never thought of it that way before regarding the cultural and historical record record of the roads and places but you are correct, pretty cool! Thanks for watching.

    I visited Aiken, SC last year. I was very fortunate to watch "Wheel of Fortune" during a hotel stay, watching it on channel 12 (WRDW-TV, CBS in Augusta). Good video!

    @Freewayjim Thanks, I'll have that in mind for my future videos. I wonder if you mounted the camera, with the left/right tripod legs outside the middle part, where you put the car in Drive, Reverse, Low-Gear, 2nd Gear, Park, etc., with the middle leg down to that part of the front car.

    I love the wide streets of the old south, I'd wish they bring those back especially here in Atlanta instead of Jamming up High Rise Condo's with little or no breathing room...

    It is state law in Georgia to have your headlights on when raining or fog. Newer cars have running lights, lights that are illuminated while running or driving. Most older models don't. And on sunny days like this on, you can run the risk of forgetting to turn the headlights off manually and run the battery down. I know I have a time or too.Great video, Jim! And I live here!

    The Krispy Kreme you see on the right when the video starts is the same one where Phil Mickelson went through the drive-thru wearing his green jacket after winning the Masters in 2010. Also, as the driver crosses 10th Street downtwon, you can catch a glimpse of Cobb House Apartments on the left, which were built and owned by legendary baseball player Ty Cobb.

    Thank you! If you look at my other videos you'll see the reason, I film drives and places I think are interesting....I have a camera mounted on a tripod setup in the front seat, passenger side that works pretty well, there is a video of it as well.

    @Freewayjim How can you film videos solo?

  • @Freewayjim
    @Freewayjim  14 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @FreewayAndrew - All my tripod legs are on the passenger side floorboard, I have it just right wether anyone is with me or if I'm filming solo, If you have the right kind of tripod this works perfectly.

  • @tmarshall23
    @tmarshall23 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @Freewayjim I was guessing that track probably wasn't in use anymore. If it was somehow still in use, it would be very interesting, since so few cities still have active 'street-running' for trains anymore.

  • @VaFreeways

    Nice video and awesome music! Hamilton, OH's "Main Street" on the east side of the Great Miami River is High Street. Also, at the end, you put "Produced By FreewayJim". Did your son come or not?

    @murallesdominic2: You know, I'm good for a typo here and there, please watch the rest of my videos and I'm CERTAIN you'll find a few more. I don't understand how some people can watch, and I assume enjoy a 5-6 minute video that took hours to make and then comment on an unintentional typo, really? feel better now?

  • @shizy86
    @shizy86 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @Freewayjim The track you saw is still used. I've had to wait for that train at least 3 times in the last year, and I don't even go downtown very often. It acutally crosses over the Savannah River.

    @FreewayAndrew It's not hard at all, getting the camera set right is the biggest challenge (I find a level parking lot or space for this) but once it's set all I have to to is reach over to turn it on and press/stop the record button...I have a remote so I could use that if I wanted to, but just as easy to reach over and press the buttons. I'm also usually photographing the routes I film so it's multi-tasking to the max :)

    @Tomahawkin17 most of Atlanta's streets were never really like that though - Atl was a railroad outpost when Savannah and Augusta were booming. Though Marietta St in downtown kinda reminds me of Broad, without the trees.
    Not sure about this comment though - yes there are lots of skyscrapers in CBDs, but what about the other 129 sq mi in Atlanta, most of which make up one of the lowest density cities in America? Atlanta has more breathing room than most cities, and more than most people realize.

      Brayla Fountain What is Augusta GA popluation in just the city not counting the rest of Richmond country I'm guessing around 80,000 I lived there as a kid and through out my teen year off and on with my mom with my Dad being back here in Hamilton OH which has a population of 60.000 I basically grown in both places Augusta is definitely the bigger of 2 city's but it doesn't seem like it's that much bigger with popluation of 196,000 that's like 4 time the size of Hamilton so if you could give me the info I'd greatly appreciate it thank you
