Shootout to X Games coming back swinging this year. From having Brian fox in the hot tub, to having Scotty commentate, we thank you for making X Games another event we can look forward to again.
from what I heard on the OUR BMX podcast, a few years ago they were bought out. However last years event was still hosted by the original company whereas this year is by the new owners who made a huge investment in buying it.
I have looked forward to summer X every single year, but it was nice having the crowd again and always to have Scotty. I enjoyed the FMX at Slayground and all that lol

Right? He got robbed in the last best trick contest in my opinion tbh, but R-willy just gonna keep doing never been dones and winning every time I guess haha, hard to argue against it. Arguably one of the best riders of our generation and gets overlooked by the judges every time for some reason. Hopefully he doesn't lose any motivation from it.
one thing I did notice is that almost all the highest scorers in the heats used the mini ramp, the skinny ride pergola thing or both so maybe its a use of course thing or maybe (and I don't agree with this at all) they thought the repetitive whips and bars 360 combos weren't original enough? I still think he deserved a spot
Weird to cut out Marcus Christopher’s run, I get it was a rough crash but that’s the reality of these sports and to censor it just feels off to me but I’m open to other opinions as well

@@2MattH96 that's where the time takes into place. His progression has been faster than anyone's. He's still just a kid! He is still new to competition riding compared to all of these guys. He will figure out trick combos for some of the gnarliest runs ever

Logan Martin trains so hard to be able to do the hardest tricks, but he wasted all of that efforts because the judges liked when that guy rode his bike on top of something.
You don't know much about bmx, do you? I'm glad the judges are rewarding creativity and use of course, not just gymnastic tricks. We don't want gymnastics in bmx.
I don't understand why there just can't be one box jump with a quater at each end. There should be seperate scores for artistic impression and technical difficulty too and maybe they could all wear white spandex.
The run he pulled was his safety run, he didn’t 1080 , he didn’t 720 triple bar , he didn’t double flair, he messed up the run he did the 360 tailwhip backflip on, dude can’t be winning with his safety runs
@TkoNebi not sure who this we is that you're talking about. I think a lot of people want to see both in a park contest. I want to see someone do a 540 flair, then manual to whip off that pergola thing, and then a fakie 50 50 around a bowl corner
Seems like the only time the judges were fair was in the real street contest when it was riders judging riders, i feel like doing that more would put a stop to poor judgements being made. Other than that the coverage has been great, scotty and gary rodgers are definitely the mvps for me
Everything was great except the jam session style. We just need 3 straight runs from everyone. We want to see it and the competitors should know how many runs they are getting.

I really look forward to every x Games. I've been watching X games from day one I'm 46 years old and every X Games is on they all ways some how stuff up the TV footage, missing runs, putting adds on were they are dropping in and many more. And all so Jay Thooey has been ripped off at least 3 years straight. The judges need to be riders that didn't make the finals. Peace, I mean no disrespect. RIP Pat Casey
I still remember the first time I seen Kieron way back in the day getting picked up off Baz and taken to the reservoir and showing up all those tall order boys what a OG geordie is made of. He’s starting to already getting the number 9 status up here in the toon. Well done son ✌🏼
I dont understand why the formst for the event isnt 3 runs per person. I understand the pros and cons to both, but i feel like the abrupt end to the competition and expectation that some riders will get another opportunity isn't worth it.
Why was Brian Fox robbed? That 1080 was insane, flawless run. His score should have been in the 80s at the very least. I loved Enarson's run, extreme street style in Park.
First X Games was in 1995, in Newport, Rhode Island, and it was pretty much the same as it is today just with more silly stuff. They had extreme kayaking, roller blading. Wasn’t until the later years it got refined to just extreme sports.

Which is a shame because the courses were great, the riding was insane, especially in the dirt. Yet inexperienced and nonsense judging ruins all that.

@@Darkstar001 I also kinda suspect some kind of "scripted judging" going on, but it doesn't ruin my desire to watch. In my book, all the XGames athletes are champions, the best of the best, and I just sort of ignore the points, tune out the commentary, and geek out at the godlike skills on display!
This is such a great bmx contest I love it especially the hot tub only thing that made me cry and sad was that Pat Casey wasn’t there physically to compete still he will never be forgotten much love to Pat.❤🙏🏻
Xgames judging was definitely biased. They seemed to have an agenda. This went across dirt, park and street. I forget how judging for mega park went although it seemed to have been more fair. Maybe we’re looking for more distribution of fame and shoutouts?
If they judged the same every year Logan Martin would win gold every year. He's just too good. They change the agenda every year though. It's not the same grading every X-Games.
WHOA! MALIGNO they call him in Argentina. Saw him win a competition in Chile in Santiago and Coco Zurita asked him on the podium if he thought Chilean empanadas were good. Torres said you gotta go to Argentina to try what a real empanada tastes like! Haha.
