  • Are you more of a Sainsbury’s or Tesco kind of household? Well, whatever suits your fancy, we are here to walk you through what it’s like to be an American choosing a cheeky meal deal!
In this vlog, we are at it again with another Americans Try! This time we tackle every Tesco Meal Deal we could possibly get our hands on. With the announcement of Tesco raising their prices this week, we had to get this trial in beforehand! It is hard to believe that we have been living in England for almost 3 years now! And while we have enjoyed a Tesco Meal Deal from time to time, we have yet to do so on camera. British food has become very near and dear to our hearts, so it was quite a lot of fun to try this nationally beloved chain on camera! Hope you enjoy this one as much as we did!! In this vlog we try Cheese and Onion, Eggs and Cress, Tuna and Sweetcorn, Smoked Ham and Cheddar, Smoked Ham and Mustard, The Chicken Club, Chicken Tikka and Mango Chutney, Prawn Mayonnaise, and Pulled Beef and Red Leicester and BLT.
We have been Americans living in England for just about 3 years now. We have eaten British snacks, explored beautiful locations throughout the UK, and lived and worked alongside our British friends.
Join us and discover our new favorites... and the ones we could do without!! Did we miss any? Lots more fun content in store in the coming weeks, so stick around!
Tell us, what kind of British food/products should we try next? What would you like us to share? What did you think of the video? Leave a comment, like, and subscribe for more!!

Your definition of salad must be different from ours.
Egg and cress, tuna and sweetcorn aren't salads.

Tesco meal deals were good value, they probably still are.
To me, getting a tesco clubcard is worth it,
basically you give them some info (or lies), you get a discount, there can be more discounts (money off offers) based on how much you spend.
They can already track based on credit/debit card, unless you use cash, very low percentage, different cards, not as low a percentage but still low.
Not sure but I believe you can get a card at the checkout: Tourists Do This, no real validation of info you supply. Yes I have used a credit card and tesco clubcard in different names.

I noticed a lot of people talking about the Tesco Club Card and i agree if you're going to be here for a while i would get one definitely worth it. A few months ago i decided i wanted to buy an air fryer i shopped around and found they were quite pricey. I had a look in my local tesco and i'm so glad i did. I found a Tower air fryer for £59 club card price £39 i had £10 club card vouchers which needed to be used up so all in all i got a really good bargain an air fryer from Tesco for £29!!!! I shop at Tesco regularly because my Tesco is about a 10 to 15 mins walk from my house (downhill) i live in a hilly area. On my doorststep (walking distance) i have 4 supermarkets all within walking distance. Aforementioned Tesco, Morrisons, Aldi and Scotmid coop. Very convenient for me as I'm not a driver so when i do my weekly shop i usually walk to either Tescos or Morrisons and sometimes Aldi to do my shop. So convenient i understand in the US everything is so far apart and you really need a car very few people use public transport. Which is the opposite here in the UK i use public transport all the time and its so super easy and convenient and also very regular when i live in Edinburgh if you have to wait for a bus to go somewhere your waiting time would be about 10 to 15 minutes once your on the bus the seats are quite comfy and you also have usb outlets for your phones and best of all free wifi! To get anywhere on the bus in Edinburgh would take less than an hour (not sure about bigger cities. Or country routes.) again i find super convenient. Also from Edinburgh if you want to go further afield outside the city itself we have excellent public transport that will take you anywhere you want to go if you want to go to North Berwick or Dunbar Lothian Country buses run an excellent service to those towns on the east coast with fantastic views of the villages as you pass by if you like golf i think its eithed the North Berwick bus or Dunbar bus one of them anyway passes through Muirfield golf club i think the open is held their each year i believe. Or you can either get the bus or train and take a trip to the beautiful Scottish Borders and visit Melrose home of the Melross Sevens seven aside rugby and the Abbey. Travelling there is by bus or train are equally beautiful. Or further up to The Kingdom of Fife to North Queensferry or to Dunfermline visit the abbey. Ot to St Andrews home of golf and where Prince William and Catherine went to University is a nice little town. Or on to Dundee they have the new Tate Modern there. There are other places within easy travelling distance from Edinburgh using public transport like the bus or the train if any American chosd to come to Scotland i would recommend you using public transport it's safe and very convenient and inexpensive.

add black pepper to the prawn sandwich (and the tuna) to make it better. However in Devon I used to buy the prawn cocktail sandwich which has salad and a sauce with paprika. Only available November & December. The best current sandwich is the roast vegetable wrap but sadly missed is the honey roast salmon salad roll, no longer made.

I think they put way too much mayo in them. The wraps are much better. My favourite wrap is the pulled ham, cheese and chutney wrap, or the southern fried chicken wrap.

I'd say a salad, or maybe (this is what I'd pack, at least) a sandwich and crisps (or chips, as we say). Lots of people also pack some fruit and/or veggies to round it out and be a little healthier. Frozen meals are also pretty popular.

Sunday isn't the best day to buy pre-packaged sandwiches at Tesco. They don't seem to have fresh sandwiches on a Sunday, just the leftovers from Saturday (or Friday?).

I watch the Magic geekdom a lovely couple from America, shopping, trying food and places to stay, and reacting to my Roots a lovely America guy called Steve, you should watch them and more, I won't be subscribing to you, plus we have more supermarkets than you mentioned and cheaper than US, like M&S, Co op, Lidl, Iceland(which is frozen and fresh food) and here 🇬🇧 you don't have to buy just organic our ordinary fresh food doesn't have chemicals, in it like the US food is a lot safer and much cheaper, A lot of Americans have moved here because they prefer it to the US,

I only eat M&S or Waitrose sandwiches, as tesco and sainsburys etc 🤢
I’ll eat other lunch bits from any of them, but not sandwiches.
I’ve never had a tesco meal deal though.

They do salads, sushi, sausage rolls, wraps, dips as well as sandwiches. Similarly, you can get doughnuts, buns, chocolate, nuts and other stuff, as well as crisps. The deal includes smoothies, iced coffee as well as Pepsi, Coke, water and fruit squash.
