- What are the main sources of emissions of greenhouse gases? In this video we break down global emissions to pinpoint the largest emitters.
In this video we take a look at the sources of carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and flourinated gas emissions of 2016. We also talk about the consequences of climate change, possible policy changes and solutions. We visualize the atmospheric CO2 concentration and global average temperature. Today, many nations have zero-emission targets in law or pledges for the coming decades following the progress at the UN Climate Conferences in Paris in 2015 and the yearly follow-ups including Glasgow 2021.

Good video but the earths temperature is a bit misleading as it is only recently that they include the sea temperature in it.

How much CO2 per minute from an automobile?
Example 1: A six cylinder 3.5L turbo @3600 rpm. We see 6 revolutions of the crank shaft for every 7 litres of air used. If the crank shaft turns 3,600 revolutions per minute. (3600/6) X 7L = 4,200 liters of air changed into CO2 each minute.
Example 2: A four cylinder 2L turbo @3200 rpm? Four turns of the crank shaft for every 4 litres of air changed. (3200rpm/4r) X 4L = 3,200 liters of air changed to CO2 per minute.
You’re over-complicating it.
The burning of one litre of petrol results in the formation of 2.3 kg. of CO2. The less fuel consumed by the engine means less CO2 is emitted. All that computation you’re doing regarding displacement and rpm’s is irrelevant; fuel consumption is relevant. Also, different fuels will emit different amounts of CO2, because of the difference in the carbon content of the different fuels. E.g., ethanol is 53% carbon by weight, while petrol is 87% carbon by weight, so obviously the petrol will emit more CO2 per kilo of fuel burned (ergo, the difference between energy density between the two).
For reference, an average sedentary adult human, 65 kilos, will exhale 1 kg of CO2 in a 24-hour day, and several-times that if active. So a person lounging around exhales the CO2 equivalent of .435 litres of burned petrol per day !
