Quran can't teach people how to be witty. Rasoolullah (sallalahu alayhi wassallam) is the example to model. But reading hadith will not give any hint about it. Because he(sallahu alayhi wassallam) used very simple statements to change people's emotions. The real secret is in his emotional tone, facial expressions, body guestures, giving attention to people and physical health. Is the objective of your ibadah "Ya Allah, I want to be like rasoolullah" ? Interesting topic to research would be why are so many Muslims extremely good in understanding Quran but have acquired the manners(psychological and physical) of Shaitan?
