Thank you very much! The bike have been upgraded again since this video, it is now blue and black. I loved blue and brown too, but needed something new in my life:))
I like how your bikes looks like. Brilliant. I had ace bars on my old bullet and rode it from Poland to the UK and back... that was rather a torture ;)
Totally agree with the bull bar handlebars, I used some of these a very long time ago and they were like medieval punishment after about 30 minutes. Fitted the TM handlebar wraps to my Super Meteor the other week, but was not very happy with the sloppy way they started and finished, so i ended up adding a leather cord wrap on the ends over the top of the TM wraps. Having said that, handlbars are very subjective and what works for one person won't work for another.
Hahaha good comparison with the medieval torture! Also agree with the way tm wraps finish - the glue makes the leather firm and the edge roughy. I spend extra time to make the start as smooth as I can and the the finish in the place where my fingers won’t feel it. It got better after a few weeks. They were a bit slippery at first too. Now they are okay 👌
Love the look of the bars. I changed mine as well, but for a similar style to original, slightly wider and with a set of risers, but not enough to need to change the cables. My bars are Matt black and I have painted the mudguards, brackets, footrests, side panels and indicators in Matt black as well. I agree on the fatter grips, but I kept the originals and added grip puppies to mine, which are far more comfortable for my XL hands. More work to be done, but love my Interceptor! Keep the videos coming! 👍
Thanks for your kind words! Sounds like a good job you did with your bike, well done! I was considering grip puppies too (saw them first on wild life moto channel). But in the end decided that brown leather is what my bike needed. Enjoy your Interceptor!
Thanks! Actually, the light is quite challenging for me. Colour grading is difficult because the light is greenish/yellowish. I can send you a sample, if you like. I need to practice more!
Hey great build and thank you so much for your videos. Question - did you replace the internal handlebar weights from the stock bars before putting your new grips on? Thank you!
Hey buddy, you are most welcome! At first I didn’t fit them, because my new grips had close ends. I now use another grips (heated), they are open ended so I fitted the bar ends back. However, they are not weights, just aluminium caps.
@@thesundayrides Got it, thanks so much for the quick reply. I'd bought BAAK's Flat Tracker Kit before finding your videos and they really helped me to fit it. Everything lined up now apart from drilling the bars. I've also found that the Biltwell grip on the stock throttle tube comes up slightly short (though went on fine with some WD40). Hi! First your videos have been an inspiration to make my first project on my RE interceptor! I'm gonna start with the same handlebars as yours, but is known for many os us the trouble with length cables. I am gonna wait to have the track handlebar to check fitting, but can you tell us the approximately lenghts of throttle and clutch cable you recommend to order aftermarkek pre-built cables? Thank you and keep making such a great videos!
Hello! Thank you very much! Starting the first interceptor project is exciting! I don't have the recommended cable lengths. The best thing to do, would be to install the bars and check with the old cables how many cm are to be added for them to reach comfortably. I have BAAK cables and I already got used to their excessive length.
Hey, nice Job. I really like the combination of the blue tank and the silver bars. Did you have to change the breaking cable too to make the handlebar fit? Looks like you're still running the original one. Planing to do the same mod on my continental and already running the interceptor bars, but I need comfort on longer trips.
Hey Max, thanks for sharing. Great content as usual. Are they wider than the stock bars? Also do they make a lot of difference to the ride quality / handling? Thanks man! ride safe!
Hey, Andreas! Thanks! Yes, they are noticeably wider! And higher. Puts you very upright. They change a lot the handling and the ride quality, which I think is very positive! The feeling when you exit the corner and open the throttle is wooooooooow!
Yes, i did but only because I wanted to clean up the wiring in the front. as soon as you remove the headlight you discover that a huge bunch of cables is hidden there. I had to extend all the wires to be able to hide them under that tank. if you are okay with some connectors visible you can buy a front pannel from BAAK and then all cables reach
I ended up fitting the baak bars last night.. took a little longer than anticipated 😅 Quite annoying that the supplied throttle cables are too long and also don't have the bend at the bottom so it doesn't fit like the stock cables... Oh well still looks cool and reach is better 🤷🏻
Hey, mate! I have an underbar mirrors from Baak. They fit on the handlebars. You need to adjust the position of the bars and the mirror to stay clear of the tank, but after you do it the observation of the road behind you is amazing. The down side is that you need to look down to check your mirror

Hello, Anton! Thanks! The only one I know that is a proper solution is a 17 or 16 inch rim, slightly wider than stock and 150mm rubber. I saw people fitting 150/70 18inch tire on the stock wheel, but that’s not great - stock rim is too narrow. Yes, I want to do it, but building a new wheel is costly. Hi. I'm really enjoying your channel. Are you using the original handlebar clamps with the bar or Baak's handlebar clamps? Baak's website is currently recommending the use of their own handlebar clamps with the bar rather than the originals because of excessive tolerance margins with the original clamps. I would really like to buy these bars, but it will be getting eye wateringly expensive if I also need to buy Baak bar clamps. Keep up the good work! :o)
Hi Richard! Thank you very much for your kind words! This means a lot and helps to keep going! I am using the original clamps and they hold the bars very tightly. No issues at all. If there was a slight tolerance, I’d use a thin metal gasket (like a piece of a soda can). The only reason to buy baak’s clamp is the look. It looks awesome. But be careful, there are different clamp diameter. I found a bargain on eBay, and it was a wrong diameter. Got 1” instead of 7/8. Also, there are cheaper bars that look similar. Hi again Max, just one more question. The handle bar kit from Baak includes two throttle cables and a front brake hose. Were you happy with those? Did they fit well? Why no clutch cable in the kit?
Hello! I think you can choose what cables to get from them in a kit and I ordered throttle, clutch and brake hose. I didn’t use the brake hose, because that stock one is long enough. The other cables are useful, as you can complete the installation in one go, but they are not ideal. You can see the excess on all of my fpv videos. Hope it helps!
In your other Video you mentioned you had to extend electric cables and replaced the wire cables. Was it also necessary to replace the brakefluid line with a longer one ?
Hi! There are different reasons behind that. For BAAK Flat Tracker bars you only need longer clutch and throttle cables. You can still use your current brake line. It is a bit stretched, but it is fine. To fit Bates light properly you have to deal with connectors/wiring loom that is stored in your stock light. I tried to relocate the wiring as is, but it wasn't possible due to the lengths of the wires. I kept the motorcycle side of the wiring as is, but extended electrical cables of the controls, indicators, headlight, ignition, etc.

But it looks bit different than tracker handlebar.
May be it’s Baak interpretation
Its not impossible to fit triump bars with stock cables, you didn't try hard enough. Ive fitted them with no problems.
I don’t know about triumph bars. But baak ones don’t fit. Tried twice
@@thesundayrides what mirror is that please
@@chriswatts6161 that’s also from BAAK. Try searching underbar mirror on their website. I saw similar mirrors on other sites too
Better to Buy GT650 Maybe
Hi! Why do you say so?
In India from our price point its ₹20000 diff from GT soo u have done the same looking mod like RE GT 650 Committed Position Handle bar.
@@vltjohnconner9492 oh, I see! It’s actually the other way around - I ended up with handlebars that have more sweep and pull back. And for me the point is to experiment and change things. I am curious. If I had a continental gt, I would change it to look like an interceptor:)
👍👏😊
Thanks buddy
