No wonder he's so guarded. His mother chose death over staying with him and raising him. Because of his mother's death, he was raised by a woman who manipulates him at every turn and ... Do we need to talk about what is hinted at in Simone's book? And then, he finally tries to have a normal, stable relationship ... only to be stabbed in the back by "Simone 2.0." The three women Jake was supposed to be able to trust and depend on (His mother; Simone; and Tess) all let him down.
Eu assisti a série e li o livro Sweetbitter. Achei a série bem fiel ao livro, mudou algumas coisas como a participação maior do Will na série, no livro ele é secundário. O que tenho a dizer: Tess é uma menina, inocente, jovem, apaixonada pelo cara rebelde e que no final vai perceber que Jake é mais fiel à Simone, sempre foi assim ao longo da vida deles e não vai ser uma garota inocente que vai mudar isso no Jake. No livro [SPOILER] Jake marca um sabático com Simone, eles iam viajar juntos para a França e Tess descobre. Na série ela vai até o Howard pra incentivá-lo a demitir Simone, mas a terceira temporada acaba nesta parte. No livro, Tess transa com Howard (????) e todos do restaurante ficam sabendo, sussurram pelos cantos, como Tess pode fazer isso? Ela muda de restaurante, segue com sua vida, não parece se arrepender do que fez. Eu fiquei decepcionada por uns dias com esse fim do livro, mas achei muito vida real o fim de Tess. Pense que ela é bem jovem, Jake foi apenas o primeiro de muitos que virão pra bagunçar/mexer com nossa vida. E acredite, Tess segue com sua vida em New York, é a vida, tudo começa, termina, começa, termina... Infelizmente não tem mais série, não tem mais livros, não tem continuação. Guardo Tess no meu coração pra sempre.
