At his empire's height, Vecna was betrayed and destroyed by his most trusted lieutenant, a vampire called Kas the Bloody-Handed, using a magical sword that Vecna himself had crafted for him, now known as the Sword of Kas. I wonder if hopper has the Sword of Kas, and eddie is going to be Kas. It makes sense.

Fun movie trivia: The actor who was playing Vecna wanted this scene to be a real as possible, so he let them throw real fire bombs at him. He had so much makeup on that he didn’t feel a thing. Add in the mask and contact lenses and he couldn’t see much either. In an interview he has done recently, he said that on the first take, he just kept walking forward cuz he never knew when they threw the bombs. He said they had to hit him 14 times to get the scene right. He was considering letting them use real ammo for the shotgun too but figured that was a bit risky for the scene as the gunshot would have knocked him down every time.

so annoying that he got hit by two molotov cocktails and multiple shotgun shells, and then fell down 2-3 stories and just walked away. i hate invincible villains. this would have been a great opportunity to actually kill vecna and have the mind flayer be the real big bad of the final season

I love this scene because, for the whole show, the Upside Down creatures were treated like invencible demons, however, in this scene, the weak essence of them is shown: Demogorgon is just an animal, Vecna is just a man.

This is one of very few good "new" titles on Netflix... I bet they will f it up
