It doesn't matter now. If anything Portal RTX helps modders extremely well when dealing with RTX remix and source. I bet an official RTX remix Half Life 2 port will be one of the first new projects we see to come out of the technology made by the community.
I made a video of this myself too, as well the "Portal-Life 2" mod You can fix the missing textures by disabling the "enhancement assets" in the rtx remix settings, and the missing geometry with "r_3dsky 0"
that probably could be something that Portal with RTX for some reason uses an old 2007 version of Portal in the 2013 branch... it's really weird i'm gonna experiment with this later
because there is no skybox yet you can't really see full raytracing in open areas. this is currently my top priority to fix no skybox = no environment lighting

Half-Life games never get official rtx, but portal and other retro titles get official rtx, i dont get it why.

@@peluchefps they can do it for goldsrc, old engines can use rtx if you modify them, quake 2 has rtx too and its from 1997.

Obviously. But this isn't magic, you loose quite some information that the AI has to interpret.
Tried this for the first time a few hours ago... some of the maps just don't use their textures like wtff

im not even gonna lie just looks like normal hl2 with bad fps
the lighting and shadows are completely different, also the textures are not pbr so they look flat.
