0:55 - That flyby!!! Hard to beat this thing on the coolness factor, even if it wasn't the most efficient design. It's unfortunate that they didn't further develop the engines in ground testing before flying with them. By all accounts, it was a great flying aircraft, what a thrill it must have been to fly.
mhmmmm pinnacle Nissan engines.. needed more development time. most likely ran out of money. such a shame I think this air craft could be rebuilt with newer technical know how

the Voyager was definitely NOT the fist airplane to fly nonstop around the world. A B-50 did it in the '40s.
First flight done without refueling.

as much as i love a VG engine.. i think this unit would have worked better with a VR38DETT
And then crashed and killed the pilot.
The pilot crashed the airplane. The airplane does what it's told to do.
