I've got a PC with various hitman games and I'm not sure I could play a hitman in public. Having me cackle as I drown someone on the bus might attract concern.
Took me a moment to realize, the drowning isn't taking place on a bus, that's just where you'd be playing the game.

Next Hitman Blood Money remaster is going to have a level where you can flood a whole metropolitan subway system to get one guy.

You absolutely *can* knock people out in Blood Money without syringes, its just slower and more complicated than future games. You need to have a handgun drawn, and be able to get behind the person in question, preferably quietly but it even works if theyre alerted. Take them as a human shield, and you have the option to knock them out
Seeing the realistically styled Hitman: Blood Money with cartoonish white highlights and mobile game ui really, really, hurts.

Yes. This is an absolute must. He's played Hitman 2: Silent Assassin on this channel on this channel before, so he should at least play Hitman: Contracts. Hitman: Codename 47 is very buggy and is a very low quality game, even for its time, but it can be forgiven for being a starting point. It will be very funny to see Jon realize that there's no way to knock anyone out in Codename 47, after he had gone on that whole rant about the new subduing mechanic being too easy while at the same time, not remembering that infinite knockouts are a thing in Blood Money.
I always enjoyed the convenience of the human sized laundry trolleys and chests in most rooms. Plus the clothes of most NPCs would fit 47 perfectly, always made skulduggery so much easier.

Jon it seems you've once again forgotten a few things about this game that you used to be well aware of. (I still watch your All Accidents playthrough regularly). Blood Money does allow you to knock out as many people as you want, you just have to human shield them first.

Things you didn't bring up are that you can knock someone out by equipping a one handed weapon and getting behind them to hold them as a shield, the removal of first person view in Reprisal, and the removal of weapon names in the hud.
There's no point in bringing the enhanced Xbox One PS4 edition over to PC. The PC already has Blood Money. Plus it has the tutorial voice, which is absent in the enhanced and reprisal editions. I feel that it was a mistake to make Blood Money Reprisal play more like Absolution.

In all honesty, though, Blood Money did have an unlimited knock out ability. It wasn't as easy to execute as the choke out in the newer games, but taking a human shield then knocking them out was just as effective, with unlimited uses even after the syringes were used. Unless, of course, this feature isn't available on the higher difficulties, in which case, I do apologise for my presumptuousness.
Limited saves are also a thing in the new games.
That feature is available on Expert and Professional, and is absolutely how I cheesed my way through a couple of the levels. In fairness, though, Blood Money was so tightly designed it often didn't really benefit you to run around knocking out everyone on the map.
Infinite knock outs + npcs that run up to you and perform an animation that locks them in place when they see you trespassing is something you can exploit very easily

Yes, you get unlimited saves on Casual and Professional, and 1 save on Master.
Does anyone want to tell Jon you can infinitely knock people out in Blood Money by taking them as a human shield and pistol whipping them?

If you're standing at the extraction, detonate the bomb before anyone notices the first murder and extract immediately, you get a perfect rating as the game did not consider any body to be found

This is actually the third time Blood Money is remastered: 2012/13 on the PS3 and XBox 360, 2019 on the Xbox one and PS4 and now this
I LOVE the new trilogy, but it still falls short of what Blood Money accomplished as far as the satisfaction of putting all the pieces together and executing a plan. They just signpost way too much.
Freelancer is the closest the new trilogy comes to feeling like Blood Money, but even it had diminishing returns on that rewarding feeling once you understand the rules.
New players are usually really confused about what to do when first playing modern hitman and even more so for blood money so I get why the default is like this, it’s nice of IO interactive to let players turn the waypoints and other UI off in the options menu

Hitman blood Money was the very first game I ever 100% on its hardest difficulty. It was and is an absolutely amazing game.

I have a fairly Cheap Phone ($120+) called Camon 20 Pro 4G with only a Helio G99, but it was still smoother than the Switch version lmao.
It's also on the highest settings.
There's crash here and there, but it's fine.

On hitman and knocking people out. I agree that it can make things super easy but on the flip side i also think 47 can't knock people out witout item is very strange since he can kill people with bare hand & have hand yo hand combat with the guards but not choking them out? I think what will be a nice middle ground is if people choked out can wake up in a few minute and not out the whole round. So item for knoking people out indefinitely for the round and choke out for limited time and will alert and cause chaos after a while (if they dont see you, then general alert. but a hunt if they see you )
Am I the only one who is concerned about the fact that the neighbour's kid has a very realistic-looking air rifle in a treehouse that just happens to double as a prime sniping spot?
As someone who only started playing Hitman with the World of Assassination, I've never been able to get into any of the older games. I thought Blood Money would be an easy middleground, a way for me to really sink my teeth into the older ones... but it wasn't. The three button design was great for the time but is one of the things I really struggled with. While it may not be as quick or easy as it used to be with that old design, it seems like it would definitely be better for players like me.
I can appreciate the original game, but for players who have only ever experienced WoA, this seems like a dream come true. I'm definitely going to have to pick this up.
I've been playing World of Assassination, I like the instinct vision able to keep track of a target or explain the area better, I suppose on the hardest difficulty they could make it softer or not show the target through walls and learn the target's routine. It absolutely takes inspiration from this game with whacky ways to do accidents or get your target alone. I'll even agree the knock out is very convenient without syringes, again I enjoy it but I also see people liking Blood Money for being hardcore. The rest is just evolution where it makes sense you can hide in a closet or large fridge or stow bodies for an hour (don't think too hard if they're still alive.) I can't forgive mobile controls where buttons already do a lot of things based on context, now you're just fiddling with more stuff in a tense situation.
I mean I’ve universally always really disliked any instinct like system in any stealth game. I tend to have a problem where I permanently hold it down and make the game ugly because being able to see all other npc’s is almost always mechanically better. This also completely removes an aspect of stealth games that is trying to locate other npc and their pattern. The map system was amazing in this game and even then io realised it was very powerful so on the higher difficulties they made it only highlight more important npc’s so you had to use keyholes and foot steps to locate other npc’s.
I do think johns complaints about saves make no sense considering master mode exists and is honestly very well balanced for the mechanics in that game.
They have also now given you much more reliable throwables and knock downs thag make the game much more cheeseable and imo are quite boring to use all the time what is unfortunate because you can solve 90% of the problems in world of assassinations like this that just further simplifies and makes the game more repetitive.
To be fair I don’t think hit man blood moneys mechanics would be that fun in the maps they’ve created nowadays but I could be wrong. Their maps are so large that the much more deliberate pace of hitman blood money could get exhausting very fast. Honestly though in general I think there’s a lot of issues with how large the new hitman stages are that I could honestly write paragraphs about.
I’ll say the new hitman games are a bit easier because they simplify mechanics by giving you very dominant and powerful abilities and I just tend to find the more mechanical complexity and depth the better what I understand isn’t for everyone. Especially since this usually makes the games harder and have a more steep learning curve.
Good to know that after two remasters, they still haven't fixed the bug that gives you a phantom 'witness' on the opera house mission
My eyes shot open on 2:01. I get what this is - a way to introduce fans of the recent trilogy to a game that's a bit more hardcore. But was not expecting that at all whatsoever. I thought revamped UI was the end of it honestly. Impressed.
It's not the base game but the Freelancer mode in the newer Hitman pays for the missions, and you can buy guns/items although there are no "upgrades", you even get to pick up and bring back items to base which is cool.
You actually can do unlimited knock outs in Blood Money, you just have to hold your pistol and crouch and approach someone from behind and then grab them and then knock them out. It is just way slower (and attracts way more attention) than knocking out in the new games.
But I have to know, has Allan added those details yet?
Star Control date 0021 - My requests are now old enough to drink in the USA! I think you have to be 21 days old, right? Anyways. Always thrilled to see Hitman MATN content. Can't wait for more Daggerfall eventually. But, we all know I'm here to humbly (extremely, superlatively humbly) request Jon play Star Control 2.

I remember taking out the targets and then angering the guards and using the blank gun to make a loud albeit harmless escape pretending to 'john wick' as we say these days my way to the front door. Gorgeous game

Blood Money is one of my favorite games and I didn't know about this release or the 2019 remasters. I think I have some purchases to make in the future.
9:27 that is a thing though. You can only save once on Master Mode in the trilogy.
I was about to ask why you murdered the Garbage man after syringing him. But even knowing you didn't mean to, it still feels like it'd be a bad idea, similar to say, putting an unconscious person in a wood chipper.

Watched the first 20 minutes so far, theres somthing so pure about this compared to the trilogy that this felt like more of a challenge at times despite the levels being probably a quater of the size in some instances. I would however love to see all the blood money levels made in to the Trilogy. I woild love "A new life", "A murder of crows" ect expanded and given full mission tracking and challenges. Just thinking how cool a murder of crows would be if it was part of the triolgy and given a bigger level with more opportunities. That would be insane
I wonder just how much work there might be in transferring these maps into the newer game engine. Probably have to spend a fair bit of time recreating gameplay this game has that the newer trilogy doesn't, not to mention overhauling the graphics and 3D models.
Things John might have missed.
1. You can grab people from behind as a human shield and knock them out: and it preserves both silent assassin and your sedatives. Learnt that trick from The Auzzie Gamer when he did a series on blood money.
2. Curtains Down is notoriously buggy for inserting a bunch of random witnesses. Realistically. You should have been fine.
3. You can kill the guy's wife and maintain sa. If she dies via accident. Because until absoulution. Innocents killed by accident means you don't lose sa. Silly I know. But worth sharing.
Lastly. You can use the limo the fbi summons in to kill the target by luring him to a particular spot and the limo runs him over.

I got the game for android. Played it since PS2, PS3, STEAM. Its a fun alternative when Im staying somewhere else, have something downloading on my PC or if Im just lazy on bed. The HUD needs update tho. It feels cursed and its weird considering BM HUD itself is very simple to be changed.
So weird. For the last week or so I’ve been binge watching all Jon’s Hitman series. Just finished Hitman 2 (previous to the 2018 version). It’s like when I started playing Civ 6 (quite addictively-I’m playing a new game as I watch this) Jon started his Civ 6 Egypt livestreams. I’m in weird sync with MATN. GET OUT OF MY HEAD. 😂

In Blood Money, you could still KO as many people as you want if you took them hostage and then pistol whip them. I never do that though, because I agree that limited KOs make the game more challenging and fun.
Also, in this game, accidents never cost you silent assassin rating no matter how many "accidents" there were.

Good lord, I like a good "mosey" as much as the next guy, but this has got out of hand and some kind of intervention is needed! Someone mentioned a drinking game where you drink when Jon says "mosey", but if I did that I'd be blind drunk after 5 minutes! Said with love, as I really enjoyed this video!

The assassin view implemented here is a good way of adding it without taking away the spirit of the classic game.

Briefcases used to be so cool because of this game.. and then The Inbetweeners came out and made it so absolutely no one in the UK could ever be seen with a briefcase ever again

Today's book suggestion skips ahead in the _Ring of Fire_ series quite a bit, but it has the most to do with assassination so it's the most relevant. _1636: The Vatican Sanction_ by Charles E. Gannon and Eric Flint is a book of changing timelines, religious politics, and one of the craziest assassination attempts I've ever read about. Agent 47 would fit right in, and I'm not just saying that because he'd fit in anywhere.
Good as Hitman Bloodmoney is, I cant say its the best of them.
Way too many things that feel experimental but dont add anything to the game like the newspaper or the reputation system that is so easy to lower it might as well not exist. Also while it has great missions, it also has Death on the Mississippi which is just awful.
Are the maps smaller and simpler than original PC version? Or just a false impression after World of Assassination?
Long time since I last played Blood Money and old games always look better in memory.
Also I think you don't need syringes. You can sneak with equipped pistol, grab them as human shield and knockout.

Any kind of x-ray vison makes a game WORSE. Like your Starfield power seeing enemies through walls makes Starfield combat even less interesting.
There is a reason original Hitman 2 and Blood Money will stay the BEST.
