- Baiting up Mackerel rigs with dead and live baits for slow trolling. These baits and rigs work very well on our close reef for both Spanish and Spotted Mackerel.

Many thanks for your vid. Very informative! The nose 'cone/spring'. Where can these be sourced? And the 'split' sinker for the lead hook? Cheers.
Thanks mate. I buy the nose cones from
The Bait Shop Gold Coast thebaitshopgoldcoast.com
and the net leads from Hooked Online
www.hookedonline.com.au
Good luck mate.
Would really love to catch a Mackerel, but I live up near Yeppoon and we don’t seem to get mackerel up here. I think it’s just to shallow with green water & very little bait.
Hi Anthony keep trying mate, we used to catch a lot of Spanish in 40 metres of water out of Stanage Bay just north of Yeppoon. Don't give up buddy go wider and keep trying. Good Luck
@@ShannonsFishing I’ve been told you have to now get out in water 60+ meters to find any these days. That’s about an 80km long trip to get there. I’m going to need a bigger boat. 6m maybe, then burn $300 of fuel to catch one. Might be better to go to the fish shop.
@@ShannonsFishing I have only been trying since 2002, so just 21yrs of efforts here for not one Spanish or Spotty. Only managed one Doggy in that time.
@@anthonyleavey7514 I think you should come to the Gold Coast one summer and try your luck. January to March is a good time to chase Mackerel here. Just make sure you don't come in the closed season.
@@ShannonsFishing I’ve caught then of the sunny coast & in NSW, they’re thick as down there. Just can’t catch them up here, just shit fishing area it seems
Informative stuff mate, but what’s with the 360hp ?
Thanks. All new videos will be in 1080p, I had to get a new camera.
