- Update Which Method Is Faster To Shiny Hunt The Regis In Pokemon Sword & Shield: Crown Tundra! Registeel, Regice, Regirock, Regieleki, Regidrago ★ In this video I will be going over some new information that has come forward in regards to shiny hunting the Regi's in Pokemon Sword & Shield: Crown Tundra!
First off, I'd like to apologize to anyone who has been using the KO method intensively. After finding out this new info, I knew that I had to make an update video to hopefully save many of you time.
My video on the Regi's ended up doing incredibly well and stacking over 10,000 views in 1 day! So I couldn't leave everyone hanging. That being said though, I'm slightly disappointed that battles don't actually matter. It was a really good excuse to power up some Pokemon.
Oh well, missed opportunity Gamefreak.

The Shiny Charm doesn't affect the Regis. They are 1/4096 even if you have the Charm.

Pokedex capped at 999 Rocks that were just massacred in the process... Still haven’t found shiny Regirock in over a week and a half.

@@imransky3167 I got Virizon and Cobalion shiny in under 400 attempts each. Terrakion though I’m pretty sure I’ve seen almost 2,000 and still haven’t seen a shiny. I’m moving on to the Regis for now

Was also found out recently that all the Regis aren’t affected by the shiny charm. So they all are full odds
I did soft resetting because I am awful at running over the dots with drift
I don't have drift. I just suck at hitting them
I've gotten like 6 level 100 Pokemon so ima stick with the KO method because it's my favourite way to get XP.

Tip: using whirlwind is slightly faster since it doesn't play the faint animation
4800 encounters just crossed for me. I am at this point no longer even wanting it. I just don't want all these encounters to be a waste...

I think what that 1-3% thing in that chart is referring to is the bonus (for lack of a better word) where you KO 25 of the same wild pokemon in a row (ie a 3% chance at some extra rerolls, the exact number determined by how many total of that 'mon you've killed). The total number of a particular wild pokemon killed (100, 300, 500, whatever) adds a _permanent_ boost up to iirc like 1 in 600 something with charm, knocking out 25 in a row has a (small) chance to up that boost further. This is what I keep reading at least. I did manage to get my first kill chain shiny (a Duskull) after only 457 total KOd without shiny charm.

When you get 500 kills on regirock just find out it doesn't even matter...
your SR loading time is faster cuz you're playing digital, physical version loading is about 5 seconds slower, also you are using pokemon that has high happiness/shiny and that causes extra dialog and animation which waste more time, so run away method is faster, if you can run on the tiles consistently, like arduino
I agree, there are lots of factors that make one method faster than the other and so many people are leaving them out which in a way can makes someone's evidence inaccurate.
Hold up so I DIDN'T need to run around the 7 dots 300 times?... I never want to see those tiles for a long long time

Thanks for setting things right. I'm at over 1000 encounters with Registeel and I want to get the shiny version of all three because I have a set of regulars at Home along with an old Registeel from Ruby. I just need to not give up, find ways to keep myself motivated and it'll be done.

The 3% kinder makes sense when you think about it compared to let’s go if you caught anything or restart the game it broke the chain combo but this you would always have the increase combo and nothing would break it

@@nediah Actually it was confirmed not to work on static encounters like that, it only works on wild encounters sadly.
@@papagarchomp6326 he means as a way to see how many times it took to get the shiny. Using it as a way to check how many you have encountered to see if you are over/under odds etc not as a boosted chance just a in-game way of counting the encounters

I’ve personally just been using the regi’s for exp grinding (without candies) for funsies to shiny hunt at the same time so no harm done
I did the KO method and ran over the tiles for around 1,300 times and still no shiny Regidrago and this whole time I could’ve just soft reset.
Hunting Registeel for maybe 3 days now - currently at 2500 RE (with Shiny Charm) maybe it beats my highscore of 2650 attempts for Cresselia
how long did it take you to hunt each regi?
for me it took under 200 to catch shiny registeel but its taking me days to find a shiny regirock

@@LuckyBunz I apologize for not responding sooner! I wasn’t keeping count but it took me about two days (3-5 hours a day) to encounter and catch it.
Strangely enough my Switch lite loads the game slower, making the SRing much slower than running away. I actually had no idea you even could just run away.
That's very interesting, how much longer does it take you to SR?
Try switching the data location to the switch life's internal storage from the SD card if you're using one, I know it changes load time for monster hunter, could work for Pokemon
It’s good tho to battle them bcoz you get exp and you can still keep count in the Pokédex
it doesnt matter how fast the runaway method is, reset method will feel much faster if you have turbo mode because you can zone out more
Great video, but as the Regis are static encounters, the mass KOing method is not available for them. Thus, the best method is the "wae ar u ronin?" as it is at least half a second faster
Apparently you need to catch the three Regis from the same game you want to hunt drago or eleki, so unfortunately have to hunt rock ice and steel shiny before getting my shiny eleki or drago, since I want all of the legendary shinies

There's also the part where soft reset method kinda saves more battery life than the other two methods, well for me at least.
My switch is normally on the dock, but that is quite interesting for handheld players!

Honestly even tho the KO method doesn't work the only thing keeping me sane hunting is that my pokemon i've wanted to power level are all getting to lv 100 so at least i'm killing two birds with 1 stone

The method of fighting them applies to the swords of justice too?
Funny enough, my reset time average is 30 seconds, but my run away average is around 37 seconds because im terrible at COD. Glad to know that resetting works fine because that extra 7 seconds would suck
the 1 in whatever increased shiny odds is intentional because when you KO a lot of pokemon you will find pokemon with yellow auras around them that give watts when defeated and those are the pokemon with the increased odds.
Watched your video 3 years ago. Did 1615 soft resets for Regieleki from 2020-2021, didn’t get it. Turned the game on today after 2 years and decided to try a few soft resets, got it on the 4th try.

I successfully softresetted all 3 main regies and currently at Regieleki. I'm soft resetting and I'm over 3.000 now, have charm. I'm calm with the number my longest SRs hunt was over 22.000. But everytime it asks me if I want to keep the pattern I'm afraid this is wrong lol

Using a shiny lead adds 1-2 seconds to your time, so it's a bit faster than you show in this video
For the battle method, yeah true. The other two methods did not involve a shiny though

I noticed in your video that you ran over the dots again when you soft reset? Is this necessary or can i save after running the dots and before talking to the statue? Or does the game determine shinyness when the regi is created by running over the dots? Same question for ivs. Thanks

Awesome, thanks for the research efforts, now I don't have to restore my PP and give Leppa berries to restore its PP. That took away time from this method. Contently having to refuel the PP, that just cost time and valuable items that add up over a long shiny hunt.

@@LuckyBunz true but, you can’t fly to Regieleki’s/Regidrago’s temple, you always have to take that long cave to get there and confront them.
I recently started shiny hunting registeel but I've been having doubts so say while I'm hunting i decide to do something else for example a raid or a dynamax adventure would that mess up my hunt?
Nope, It won't mess it up, Just need to keep resetting or redoing the pattern.
Don't catch it though, as it doesn't respawn if you do only saying cause I've read on forms of people doing so.

I did the soft reset method. I'm gonna be getting to Regidrago soon, but I finished hunting the 3 main regis yesterday. Regirock was 2,205 resets, Registeel was 7,469 (which is my longest hunt to date), and Regice was 1,958.

You just need the Galar Pokedex filled, but there was new information that came forward regarding the shiny charm not working on hunting the Regis, so I wouldn't worry about it.

I used the KO method and got a Shiny Registeel after 80 encounters. Unfortunately I wasnt expecting to get it so I had to use a master ball to catch it.

I had to use a master ball on virizion. I dont like using master balls on legends. However, i got a shiny virizion under 100 encounters, and it was hailing so i had to use it

KO method won't increase your odds because they are static encounters. So runaway or SR moving forward is more ideal. You essentially have the same odds each time with shiny charm.
I found and captured shiny Registeel under 100 soft rests while watching this video.
It's been a collective 4 days worth of running away checking for regice and regirock. My brain wants to destroy all rocks and ice

I accidentally caught my non shiny registeel in a heal ball
i heard from somewhere that you need to “respawn” the regi in order for it to be shiny because just running away or soft resetting won’t yield a new “respawn” and it’ll always be not shiny, is this true?
It will always be randomized when you click on the statue, no matter which method you go with.
I can confirm the randomized with run away. My lead mew has Pain Split and each regi drops me to a different HP total when I use it. If it was the same Regi every time my HP stat would drop to the same exact number.
I tried the same method with pain split after KO'ing it and I can confirm that it has a different HP every time. So basically any method will give a new roll.
Why dosnet he save after he step on all the tiles
From what I hear is that Soft Reseting doesn’t work because after you put in the pattern on the floor locked the Regi into what it is. What I mean is after lighting up the floor and saving in front of the Regi statue the Regi will stay the was it is no mater how much you soft reset.

I did the soft reset method because it requires the least attention. You just spam A as you go into the game and as soon as you see it’s not a shiny you press the home button and close the game.
