Thank you Skye for your most excellent coverage. This was so interesting. I'm new to the area, and thanks to you, I want to get out and have more adventures. I also commend you for explaining to the audience about what is required to access the private property. Time for you to have a contract with Travel Channel!

Real hard time's back then. A very different era of time. Native American's used to live on the mountain.

There is no longer any need for a waiver to visit this highpoint!

Abs & Brat the coal companies did a lot of mountain top removal there. Still beautiful in some places but other places were destroyed

Thank you! I think you will enjoy this season. I go more into the history than I have in past seasons.

I’m planning on taking a detour and stopping there on my way from Michigan to Pigeon Forge in a week or so. Plus I’m going to post it on my channel! Looking forward to checking it out, and it was cool to get a preview of it!

Thanks for watching! If you want to take a detour after Black Mountain, consider stopping by the Big South Fork Nat'l Rec area to check out the Twin Arches as well. The largest arch complex in the eastern US. Safe travels!

Rooftops of America Cool! I’ll have to see if we can work that into our schedule either on the way down or back north. Thanks for the recommendation!

Can't wait for your presentation of..
    Jerimoth Hill (Rhode Island) and
    Mount Mansfield (Vermont)

Funny thing about Mt. Mansfield. We were snowed off the mountain when we were last there. Weren't able to get any real footage that day. As for Jerimoth Hill I've only got a rough outline so far script-wise.

My grandpa Andy “Guy” was buried up there. I don’t know that his grave wasn’t destroyed by the mining folks

Pathetic that Gov Beshear can’t step in and replace the lookout tower and clean up the area for tourists and ourselves. Can our tax dollars go towards anything of real significance? It’s an historical and geographical highlight. Smh…
