If you want to try something different, look up on youtube how the restaurant that invented alfredo sauce makes it. It's literally pasta water, parmesan and butter. It has a stronger nuttier cheesier flavour.
Of course totally up to you, not here to judge or anything, but just so you know, if you feel bloated a lot it's probably because this diet is very carb heavy. Just sharing because it has helped me a lot to cut that out pretty much. Random but love the cartoon on the nut bag :)
thankfully I rarely feel bloated, except some days when I'm on my period. Thank you though, I'm glad you found something that worked to make you feel better ! :)
I think a cheaper or just fun alternative to the fake chicken is some canned chickpeas. I would wash them and treat them just like chicken by cooking in butter etc! I use them in curry too. Very easy and filling and less processed. (:
@@deadgirl5805 Yes ma'am!! I'm actually making it right this minute haha. You melt a good chunk of butter, put your heavy or light cream in with whatever seasoning you'd like (I use black pepper and Cajun) let that come to a minimal boil; then using a whisk put your parmesan in and whisk for a few seconds with the heat off and boom! The best Alfredo you've ever had lol
I can’t eat the same thing over for the week. So kudos to you for that, but I also think pasta is not so healthy to eat for a week that’s a lot of carbs. just my opinion.
Getting all my veggies in during the pandemic has been a struggle! I have also given up on having fresh options all the time. What has helped is making a huge pot of veggie soup when I do get groceries. And then put it into freezer bags and freeze them flat so they stack nicely and I can pull from them later. I also get an embarrassing amount of the Birds Eye Steamfresh frozen vegetable packs. Seriously, like 12-16 bags. 🙈 Each bag is 2 servings of vegetables and I have 1 with my dinner every night! And one of my current fav snacks is plant based protein powder (lots of them also have 1-2 servings of veggies) with almond milk and frozen fruit and a blob of nut butter. Still striving for those 5-9 servings of veggies. 😅
Cassie, I am 60 and my starting weight was 280lbs and so far I’m down to 206lbs 😁 I watched a video about calorie density from Jeff Novick about calorie density and also used a calorie density chart. No counting calories or using portion sizes. I water sauté everything now and I don’t eat much bread now because bread is so calorie dense but I eat tons of potatoes, rice, pasta, beans and fruits and vegetables. I have found awesome recipes for fat free dressings and things like vegan nacho cheese sauce. It’s not just about the weight loss, I just feel better now.
andrea nell I didn’t say that she was going on a diet. I have noticed in her previous videos that she seems to want to lose weight. In this video she shows what she eats in a day. Because I know about calorie density, I can easily see why she is overweight. I don’t care if she’s overweight but if she would like to understand better for herself, that’s why I left that comment because she is eating bread and oils and processed food and that’s what is tripping her up. If she just simply exchanged those things for more starches and water, fiber foods in her diet, she would feel satiated and lose weight.
When you slip into the tippety tap rehearsed smiley Cassie at the end of your vids, its kinda weird! Like you're an alien, trying to act human or a stepford wife!. Haha. 👽🤖❤

Never will forget the feeling of thinking I should probably step in and tel him how that couldn’t possibly be a good idea for his heart 😂
Thanks for sharing! I'd love to see more cooking videos--maybe trying new recipes. I got the book Vegetarian Dinner's In the Oven, and I think you'd love it! Jamie Oliver's 5 Ingredient book is fab too, though it has some meat dishes. (I like it more than his vegetarian one). I'm sad to see that people are using this opportunity to comment on whether or not the meals are healthy. If people want healthy meals, click on a video that says that or find a health channel. OMG,Cassie have you tried The Beyond patties they are so good I prefer them to an actual to beef burger patties and I am not a vegetarian but I love the taste so much.
You know what's yummy :) blueberry bagel toasted on a stove top with butter vegan cream cheese or whipped cream cheese with strawberries and peacons on top or butter tosted bread with peanut butter and honey with cinnamon 😋😄😍😍
yes, I find that it turns out best when coated in cornstarch and then pan fried!! Cut up your tofu into little bite sized squares after pressing it/getting rid of the moisture for a few hours, then toss in cornstarch; add a bit of oil to a skillet and fry the little buggers until they're golden brown and crispy. YUM. You can also marinate the tofu after pressing it and before coating in cornstarch for extra flavor :)
I really love BBQ tofu. You can find tons of recipes online and it's really easy. Also, pan frying tofu works well. Make sure that you press your tofu first! If you haven't done that before, it really helps. Just wrap it around paper towels or towels and place cans on top to drain extra water before you cook with it.
...and now I will never eat toast from a toaster again. It's 1:30am couldn't sleep. Thought I'd give your toast in a skillet a try and now I'm in love...with toast 🥰 love you and your vids 🙌
When you are making toast in the morning, you are SO CLOSE to the perfect grilled cheese! Just add the cheese and a top bread and you are there! Also, I had my gall bladder out in Feb and now I can't eat chocolate. Or ice cream. It's not fair!!
I’ve had no gallbladder for 8 years - I’ve been strictly off daily for 6 years and it’s changed my life. I knew I was sensitive to dairy, but removing it from my diet completely changed everything. Try a vegan ice cream! There are some good ones made of coconut milk or almond milk.
I try to only eat when I'm hungry, which is usually at the beginning of the day and then near the end.... some days I do eat lunch but since I've been stuck at home like most people, I'm not as active and thus don't need to take in as much food :)
Thrift Thick usually doing this can make it very difficult to lose weight! You should have 3 meals a day, and a few snacks to keep your metabolism in check!
I always wondered if Alfredo in a jar is good. I know it's not fancy but I love olive gardens alrefdo but it's loaded with garlic and I'm allergic. Does the one you use have garlic?
the one that I use does have garlic but I do believe they make one without! It's not the most delicious alfredo sauce on its own (but they're usually on sale/deal so I buy them to save money lol) but when you add in other things like your own seasonings, sundried tomatoes, etc. then I think it's yummy :)
There’s a one pot vegan pasta recipe from Tasty which I’ve been obsessed with lately! Super easy and dairy free (I’m allergic so even better!) I hope you make more videos like this, I’ve been vegetarian for 8 months and would love to see more recipes 😊
Yeah, I've definitely had to change my cooking and shopping habits quite a bit over the past few months. Lots more frozen veggies and long storing items.
I make my own marinara sauce and the taste is so much better and healthier. Same with Alfredo sauce. No added sugars. I try to buy whole wheat pasta but lately there has been a rush on pasta. Crazy! When this happens I use spiralized zucchini. I have learned to grocery shop for a 14 day period only and found a lot less waste. I also cut up and prep food, vegetables, onions, peppers into small containers and it makes cooking so much quicker and healthy. Another great dish is quinoa with pan grilled vegetables and sweet potatoes. Lightly coat all on a baking sheet with olive oil and seasoning.
