    Fantastic video. I need a different chiller as I will be storing outside.

      You should be fine with this chiller. You may need to put something over the top when the weather is bad but it will work just fine outdoors. If it were me, I would build a box with a vent for it to sit inside to keep it out of the elements but well vented.

    Great video and instructions! Curious as to why you decided on putting the top hole 1 1/8” down from the lip as opposed to further down? Also, was the drain fitting $66 when you bought it or is inflation really that bad? Lol. Thanks!

      I did it that high simply to avoid it being below my water line just in case of a leak. Certainly not necessary but I would do it the same way again if I built it again. Yes, that particular fitting was outrageous compared to all the other pieces of plastic. I looked on Amazon and all over the internet before just surrendering and purchasing it from US Plastics with the rest of the other fittings. I don't recall the price but I did purchase it in the fall of 2022.

    Have you had any issue with the pump? I have purchased 2 of the danner pumps and both have died (still run but don't pump any water) after about a day of use.

    • @awakemyoutdoorsoul
      @awakemyoutdoorsoul  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For real! That sucks. Mine has been running non stop no problems for over a year now. Mine is not submerged. Maybe you got unlucky 2x or I got lucky. Did you purchase the same one as me?

    • @austinweems5302
      @austinweems5302 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, I did. I also tried a number of different pumps, inline and submerged and all of them have quit pumping after around 24hours. I haven’t been able to figure out why.

      @@austinweems5302 I would love to see you setup to see if I can't be of any help at all. That would be super frustrating.

    Did you mean to say female in the video? 4:32

    Love the video, but have a quick question. Why not convert the bottom single outlet into a double bib so one can be used for drainage when necessary while the other one can be utilized for the inline filter, pump & chiller system.

    • @awakemyoutdoorsoul
      @awakemyoutdoorsoul  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a great suggestion. I would love to see that done. Right now I just detach the tube from the bottom and attach a hose to drain it. This is working but would love to see a modification like that done. Be sure to tag me when you do that.

    Can you get enough flow rate from the bottom valve, it’s only 1/2 inch ?

    • @awakemyoutdoorsoul
      @awakemyoutdoorsoul  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That is an excellent question - the waterflow is awesome and actually a little too powerful

    hey man, so i want to do this exact set up. however, my chiller only fits 1" hose fittings, so how do i go about this? do i just get adapters to convert the 3/4 fittings into 1" fittings?

    • @awakemyoutdoorsoul
      @awakemyoutdoorsoul  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, just purchase the same fittings in a size that will fit or you could just make the conversion right at the chiller. Either way would work great! You could probably just pick up a converter at your local hardware store

    • @awakemyoutdoorsoul

      @@Johnnyta43. That’s a great question. You can close the valve at the bottom, unscrew the tubing, attach a regular hose and run it to wherever you’d like and then open the valve.

    does the condensation puddle up under the barrel? and if so how do you handle it!?

    • @awakemyoutdoorsoul
      @awakemyoutdoorsoul  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t have any condensation collect at all. I did for a very short 2 weeks while I moved it inside during the hottest part of the summer but haven’t had a problem since then

    • @frankievalle74
      @frankievalle74 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I live in Florida and don’t have a place inside to keep the ice barrel, so it will either have to sit in my garage or back patio area. The garage is an oven during the summer, so I plan to keep it out by the pool, which still gets pretty hot during the summer. It will at least be semi-protected via screened in patio and overhang that will protect it from direct sunlight. I am also concerned with condensation. Any thoughts or recommendations on insulation and/or condensation catch?

    • @frankievalle74
      @frankievalle74 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Another quick question: I saw your review on adding the filtration system, which I also plan to build. Are there any other changes you would make if staring over? I have most of my parts, barrel, chiller, etc., but am waiting on a few final pieces before actually starting the build and want to try my best to do it right the first time. Would you do anything differently? Especially placement of the hole for the returned cold water?
