Ive watched a majority of your solo play throughs and it helps me play better in ark. I also lost it when you said "we need to find a water source we could eat."
lol all the while you where putting stuff down i kept waiting for the bed. Man if it was me that would be the first thing i made. lol but i am bad at this game :)

With help from your vids Philinger, I completed Alpha Ascension Solo without cheats with near official stats. Now, I'm gonna move to Scorched Earth. Today's 9th Feb, 2019 - nearly a year after this vid of u doing the same journey. And and I'm gonna start watching your SE vids now.

Omg Phlinger I am so torn in two right now.......Have only been playing the game several weeks and you have taught me so much! I love watching your videos they are so much fun and filled with great information......But I don't want to get too far ahead of the Island.......Well I can always go back to S2 of yours as I decided to jump into S4 after realising that there had been several patch changes since that series was made.......Such a difficult choice because watching your Ark before work and before bed every night just makes my day!!! I can restart this series again also as no doubt I have already forgotten 80% of what you have taught me......Argh decisions decisions :)
I would play pve trust me pvp to toxic and a waist of Time just my opinion trying to help a fellow friend

Yeah. When I first arrived in Scorched after completing The Island, I died almost immediately. Then I died again while trying to find my corpse to get my items back. Then I died again while still trying to find that first corpse. Then I finally decided to make a bed, but died again while I was trying to place the foundation.
...I never did find that first corpse with the items I had ascended with.
Say ng or not, this is still impressive play.

Rats you start scorched earth when I'm away for work for 2 weeks and can't play. Oh well at least I'll have a small backlog to occupy me when I get home.
I love scorch earth, scorched earth is a very good nap, but in my opinion, aberration is my top favourite map.
Do you have harvest rates turned up?
If yes, what are they set to. I have watched from the beginnng and I dont think I ever saw you turn them up. I remembered when you turned up maturation but not harvest amount.
Beginnings are the most fun i think.
I would be all over that 100 morellatops with boomerangs, depending on rates i might tame a couple jerboas to store pre tame berries first.
Is an anky as good as a doed for sand and stone?
Seems like you would need a lot of sand for base building before you need a lot of metal?
Doeds are much better for stone, but not sure about sand. Gathering-wise they're like the pickax, and it seems like the hatchet gets more sand, so the doed might be better for it.
And you're right you need a lot of sand, and I mean A LOT. I'm pretty sure its 1 sand:1 cactus sap for clay, and adobe isn't any cheaper to make than the others.
Yea i wonder if the anky is any good at sand, i never tried it and i should have left stone out of the question.
Maybe Phlinger has a different plan than permanent base building right there and now.
I've been wondering the same thing, been wanting to test it but my anky's all the way up at the ice lake. I looked it up and people say its the doed, and apparently the scythe is good for cactus. It also calls for 2 sand, oops.
It just dawned on me that Phlinger isn't using S+, so he can't just pickup everything and move. But a small hut shouldn't be too bad, especially since it can be re-purposed as a waypoint later.

Dave Davidson I doubt you can even learn the engram, but you need fungal wood for it and that only exists on aberration so far.
Just make it on abb and transfer it to SE
Yes, Scorched Earth! I bought the season pass when Aberration came out but I haven't tried out SE yet. There are purlovias there? Not cool!
