- Combining both worlds of traditional live-action and CG, follow the vivid imagination of a lonely girl as she searches for a friend.
As you can probably tell, I would give it big fat "G" rating. So if you hate kid's books or disney cartoons... turn back now! :)
It's screened at festivals all over the world and has won a couple awards, one I'm most proud of... my student academy award.
By the way, somewhere on youtube there is another version of the short formated for widesceen, instead of the awful squishing youtube does to widescreen movies.

Also, I really do love the children's take of "just being yourself and it's good to be an individual." The ending with the girl finally finding her own friends by just being herself ties the two stories together very nicely.

That was an incredibly good shot ( the live action portions ) that captured the childish, nostalgic feeling of 80s-90s children's movies. Props for that.
i love this! and i loved the way everything rendered so well and looked so good, even the forest with the tree limit looked great because of the atmospherical lighting. i especialy loves the little lights floating at night.
i cant say i cried but i can say that was an amazing video and it was very well made. great job guys keep up the good work :)

I agree, shot angles and style is very reminiscent of late 80s early 90s films.
I'm impressed with how well you manipulated the soundtrack to precisely fit the film. James Newton Howard is incredible.

Exellent direction and settings. The story was touching and well read. The little girl did really well.

Awesome!!! I'm fighting with mmy tears....this is the best "short-animation" I've ever seen. Just in "Forrest Gump Style"....not so long but as good. Keep this feeling and you'll becoome one of the best.

This can teach children world wide a valuable lesson about being them self. I loved it! The bears so cute!!
This was excellent. My kids loved it and have watched it several times. You should definitely be employed in the film industry doing this sort of thing. There are far too few G rated movies like this for small kids to enjoy.
This short film is so beautiful, so lovely, so good, so .......... It is very good on heart. Now I thing the girl in this film got a lot of new friends and this is nice. GREAT WORK!

Wow. As much as I like explosions and gun fights, a good ol'-make-you-feel-good story like this is refreshing. I like the G rating. Fantastic, excellent, superb work!

Nice photo and great storytelling. I liked the style in the animation. Not typical 3d, but more at the children story book illustrations.

a very nice story! is there any subtitled version? because I've got a friend I'd like to show it to... but he doesn´t speak English. I do, but I can´t understand everything I hear, so it´s difficult to me to translate it just listening to it.

Mmm, nice trick. Unfortunately i've been stupid enough to decide to make an apple tree bloom/grow from spring to summer in my major project. Luckily that's the only deciduous tree in my piece, so this looks like a good option for the rest!

I saw this at the Ashland Independent Film festival three years ago in the "Family Shorts" section.
Truely a great effort with an excellant insightful and subtle storyline with equally gud animation...
