The men's doubles pair Kevin Sanjaya/Marcus Gideon nicknamed "The Minions" became the world's number 1 men's doubles player for the longest period, namely for 4 years and 3 months, from 16 March 2017 - 21 June 2022.
Currently their position is being replaced by their "junior", namely Fajar Alfian - Muhammad Rian Ardianto from Indonesia, while Kevin - Marcus has now dropped dramatically to 23rd in the world ranking.
This is because apart from that Gideon's physical condition is not yet prime, they have only participated in international tournaments a few times.
