I always figured the father would understand. "Walk away from trouble if you can". The key word here is "can". Being unable to walk away due to your own morals is a thing.

My mom made us watch 6 pack over and over and over... luv Kenny Rogers but all I see when I look at his face is my dad's old boss Harry. Harry looked just like Kenny Rogers, like identical twins. 😄

“Manners maketh man.” And yeah… Kenny’s got an amazing backlist. His storytelling is next level, as are his ballads. I think The Greatest is one of my favorite story songs. And Buy Me a Rose is a favorite love song…and the last song he did with Dolly, You Can’t Make New Old Friends is also a must hear.

Ask any Kenny Rogers fan and they all say the Gambler is his best song, but to me, this one is my favorite.
I love seeing reactions to this song. Because his father's advice is great...BUT there are times when turning the other cheek can't happen.
This is a great example of the master storytelling that Kenny Rogers did through his songs. He has always been one of my favorites because of this.

Loved this reaction. The fact you had to replay to make sure you heard it right about the Gatlin boys come calling (most people have to do that because it was pretty shocking subject matter for 1980 or whenever this was made)...to you already predicting that most men would not be able to hold back in this situation...and he didn't. My favorite line in this is "you could've heard a pin drop when Tommy stopped and locked the door!" Hehe. Anyway you have a new subscriber here.

So I know you just did a song by Kenny, but you should react to "Buy me a Rose". It is probably my favorite song of his, and for some reason no one has done reactions to it. Would love to get some reactions out there just some more people can get exposure to this wonderful song.
I would love to see you react to Reuban James. Make sure it is the version that is almost 3 minutes. Some of the videos cut a lot from the song. This is one of my favorites and I've never seen a reaction to it.
