I have the same Viper model as you. The way mine works to unlock both doors, is I press the unlock button once then wait a second or two and press the unlock button again and the passenger door will unlock. Don't know if yours will do the same but it's worth trying just to see. By pressing the lock button once, both doors will lock. Best of luck to you.
Its meant to work like that. You don't want both doors unlocking with one press of the button as, when alone, it opens you up for someone you don't want jumping in and doing bad things, so when you are by yourself, you either press the unlock button twice or hold the unlock button down to open the passenger door, I can't remember. Its a fail safe type thing. I mean honestly, how often do you need to open the passenger side door really? But yeah, one click of the unlock button has always only unlocked the driver's side door. Its pretty standard
There is usually a way to make it silent with the remote but you have to study the way the remote works , there are features there that the basic manual does not show,
I got this same one on my ranger I spent 529 for it with it installed but they did also convert it to power door locks from manual door locks I wonder if u can add a 2 way remote to this 1 way system? Mine locks an unlocks both doors on my 1999 ranger
I bought a Viper alarm/remote starter for my last new car. I am very disappointed and dissatisfied with Viper do to the poor quality of the main remote that has bad cracks all around the outside edge of the remote. I glued with crazy glue but it is no longer holding together. It should have a metal edge around the entire outer edge. It looked like it std but they are tricky in fooling the customer. It is painted plastic to look like metal. I resorted to the one way remote but can not tell if doors are open or closed. Plus.. my car continuously remotely starts accidentally because of poor design. I paid about $650 and will never buy another Viper product.
This is a very helpful review. In search of more info on this alarm. Thanks for the info.

Thanks Andy
how do you adjust the volume?
For the siren?
@@pittsburghguy404 I guess. I mean the volume for the speaker in the engine bay. Mine isn't loud enough.
