@@sidjckc7664 Jornada del Muerte, Small Missile Range, McGregor (including Otero Mesa), Rhodes Canyon. Off range Oro Grande area North to AO11 out to Tres Hermanas. These are areas off the top of my head that I remember. I still have my once in a lifetime hunt I have yet to draw. I was a Border Patrol Agent for 30 years so I routinely patrolled the aforementioned areas. I had an advantage due to my daily duties, I pretty well knew where oryx would be in most areas.
You are absolutely right, they are great table fare! I’ve been on a half dozen hunts for these and they can be tough to kill. What cartridge did you use?

I moved here in 2017 and I certainly don't miss the snow nor humidity. Great place for amateur astronomy too.

i hike a lot; it is pretty rare to see one. this one horned one does seem to hanging out in solidad canyon--near the old house

I live on east mesa right in front of the mountain I seen track all the time but never seen one
it is pretty rare. I hike all the time and only see them every few months.
I lived in Alamogordo for 20 years and have harvested over a dozen of them. Not bad eating.
