Making his start in Madrid, Fernando Torres truly announced himself in the Cauldron of Liverpool FC. Nicknamed El Niño as an early 20s superstar, he smashed club records, embarrassed leading centre-backs, and made a playground of the world’s most competitive division. With international success to boot, all was looking up for “The Kid” but the glory was too good to be true, and injuries looked to sideswipe the number 9. On top of this, a record-breaking transfer piled the pressure on his shoulders, and the reputation as a world-class striker took a major hit, plummeting him from phenom to flop!

Great video for one of the greats worth the wait
Prime torres before his 2 knee operations was so deadly. He carried Liverpool attack on his own.its a shame when a injury ruins a player.same thing happened to kaka at real madrid aswell.
Yeaaaah but i feel luis suarez for liverpool was lethal than torres
@@roycejr5749 Liverpool played defensively under Rafa Gerrard would have been pretty much what kdb at man City is now if Gerrard and Torres got half of the Liverpool's team now
Gerrard plus torress carried that team not torress alone
You guys did not watch that team. Alonso mascherano kuyt benayoun
there's nothing shameful for being injured cause its not their choice or intentions to be injured 😢
Even as an Arsenal fan, Torres will always be one of my favourite players. Set the premier league on fire as soon as he arrived and has had great success for his country. Underrated legend!
Same as a united fan you just cant hate el nino
El Niño was the man that got me supporting Liverpool along with Gerrard
As a Chelsea fan during my boyhood years.
Fernando Torres was an absolute legend.
Broke my heart when he left for Chelsea and I think it broke a bit of him to as his decline was unreal.
Had he stayed for a further six months I think the combination of him and Suarez up front, with Luis just off him, doing more of the running. Then allowing Gerrard to slot back into centre midfield could have been really interesting to watch.
Suárez came with the money they got off him.
@@masters.1000 No that was Andy Carroll. The Suarez deal was already in the pipeline for FSG and was agreed before any Torres bid had been accepted. It was only when Chelsea went to 50mill that FSG agreed the sale and then panicked and thought 35mill on Carroll was a good idea also.
@@Monkey_SK suarez and torres up front would of been class. still can't believe to this day we paid 35 million for carroll
For real
Their combo would have been deadly, but at the end of the day, one would eventually leave for the other
Imagine Torres playing under Klopp. 🔥
One of my favourite players to ever step foot on a pitch and is one of the main reasons I chose to support Liverpool as a kid growing up.
Agreed with you there him and gerrard were great my dad being a fan was a factor also
Jesus Christ. Torres, Aguero, Forlan,
Atletico amazing scouting,
Let's see if Jao Felix, leaves will he be a monster?
As a Scouser growing up football wasn't my thing despite my Dad and his family being massive liverpool supporters, but ever since I saw Torres kick a ball all that would change. Thank You Torres, you were a hope and inspiration to me growing up and you even got me into the beautiful game, YNWA 🔴💪🏼
Why are scousers so scared to walk alone is it because of bootle??
Was never really into football and Torres changed that. His explosive pace and skills made him so fun to watch for me. He will always be my favourite player.
Torres was a beast .. if it was today he would be rated along The likes of Bellingham or Harlaand🎉
As an Atletico fan, I remember when my friends first introduced me to football when I was 14. I watched compilation videos of football skills and goals and one of those videos were of Torres and Griezmann, thats the videos that made me fall in love with Torres and ultimately Atletico.
this video was a masterpiece, I love football because of Fernando Torres and he will always be my hero.
My most favourite time of him was when he returned to Atletico after being on Loan from Milan.
he was not at his best at that time, but that was the most recent time I watched him play.
I subsribed to your chanel just because of this video alone. you have many more amazing videos as well!
Thanks@@H0L0
Despite being a Man United fan, at his peak he was my favourite Liverpool player. Its sad injuries messed him up, I also sense like it seemed he lacked that confidence and instinct when he went to Chelsea. But he will always be among the top strikers of his generation.
He was such a cool player, I hope his son carries on his legend.
Loved him when he was at Liverpool he was the last player I felt broken hearted about when he left us for Chelsea in 2011 but I knew we had gotten the very best out of him.
Fernando Torres is the reason I support Chelsea. I don’t care what anyone says for me he’s my favourite striker of all time
Why Chelsea though for Torres?
Not trying to be a dick. But all he did at Chelsea was run round Victor valdes? Iconic. But??? Idk just curious
why not Bosingwa?
@Leo KB I mean when do people usually start supporting a team? Childhood? If his first time watching chelsea was torres going around Valdese to send chelsea to a European final I think I'd become a fan too
One of the best strikers of the premier league.
LFC before Torres always had a striker problem. Crouch and Kuyt weren't bad but they didn't score enough. El Nino changed that and made the clubs fear Liverpool again.
It's a shame some people forget how important he was for Liverpool because they didn't win any trophies. If only Liverpool had a little bit more resources at that time who knows what could have happened.
I bought his spain shirt during euro 2008. Good spanish team
11:06 That 2008 TOTY is mad
I remembered the dynamic duo of Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres at Liverpool by Steve Irungu Jermaine
This was definitely worth the wait. Very well paced and written as always. 👏
He was the BEST ❤
It's always injuries that ruins these players. Despite the 2 busted knees, he still won everything in football and had a legendary career even though he deemed destined for even more somehow. Those Liverpool seasons were just magical when I was a young fella.
I love this game because of him
As a Man u fan, I have never forgotten that game and the goals. I know man U fans Know which game I'm talking about. Torres was definitely El ninho
Favorite player of all time
Freaky timing for this video, I just played through world cup 2010 with Spain earlier today and Torres was my top scorer!
FIFA?
@@Monkey_SK Yeah fifa world cup 2010 on ps3
U made me cry I really miss him
Amazing video. Thanks for this ❤️
Finally early to one of your videos. Just wanted to say your content is Amazing brother! Very Inspiring. Keep up the great work 🔥🔥
I loved watching him play!
Torres was and is a liverpool legend. YNWA
If injuries didn't ruin certain players the football landscape could be so different. This guy could of been up there with raul and van basten 😔
The man who got me into the beautiful game
same
Fucking yes! Been looking forward to this, top quality video as always
Great video, please do one on Roberto Baggio!
Outstanding and very excited story 😀
Still remembered in ENGLAND as Liverpool's number 9🔥🔥🙌
Incredible video
Love football because of him 😁
El Nino was my chelsea idol 💙
Great content! Thanks! would love to see videos about the premiership and European leagues between 1995-2010 and a Tomas Rosicky rise and fall. Just suggestions :)
Rosicky really loved it when it snowed in London
Great video man✊
Please Patrick Vieira next
Good job my friend as always ..could you do one on Francesco totti!! The king of Rome
Gerrard & Torres. Wonderful combo.
Can't help but feel sturrdige & Suarez made an even better combo
*focuses directly on shevchenko's face*
"FLOPS"
I dont understand how you dont get millions of views
When he lost his speed he lost his edge. As good as he was though Luis Suarez was on another level.
Yeah Suarez was better at biting players. That's truly admirable aggression.
T90 Nike and Torres are synonymous in my head
The best nr 9 at LFC ❤
Longlive Torres
my favorite
Imagine if he never got those injuries smh legend
You never said the fashion capital 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Very skillful
Would love a Lukas Podolski episode
Dude loves the word cauldron
I don't know if he was a flop at Chelsea that's a bit harsh. Easily one of the greatest and most inspirational footballers ever.
This torres in fifa was a menace
Chelsea Torres was no flop he won everything there is to win and he scored clutch goals
When Is Part 3 Of The Milan Series Coming Out?
thx
I have tromendous respect for you Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres by Steve Irungu Jermaine
He was not that bad at Chelsea just don't get the goals ppl did want
Injuries robbed us. Torres had a lot more to offer.
Do I hear an acoustic version of Jeff Buckley's Last Goodbye on here? Nice 😎👌
David villa needs one of these
I think Milan help him switch to Atletico by trading with Cerci
If we had a striker like Torres in 22/23 season, the reds would jump from 8th to 1st place
I’m pretty sure we would’ve beaten to the title again like the year before, but there is NO doubt in my mind you would’ve displaced those posers Arsenal - absolute bottlers. LFC are the only team in the PL I respect and, depending on the game (Anfield), get nervous about.
por favor alguien me puede decir que hizo Fernando Torrers para que lo pongan con el resto de gran Jugadores?
I wonder how different it would have been had he stayed at Liverpool
Torres and Suarez on paper would have been amazing but, in reality, his decline had already began. Injuries had taken hold by that point.
Was my favorite player when I was 13
He can always look to Shevchenko, Kezman, Lukaku, Falcao, Morata, Aubamayang, Havertz and Werner to feel better about himself. They all flopped as Chelsea's primary strikers.
ayy assassin's Creed Odyssey theme
Skip to a minute for the start of the video
Well haaland broke the hat trick record
Gary Neville LOL
He is not a madridista😂🤣
Strangest storytelling I have ever heard. The comments were more helpful.
Overrated. As a brazilian I don't see nothing especial about this one. Luckiest man alive to have won fifa ballon d'or.
If only he played with saurez 😕
Chelsea champions league 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😮😊
at peak he was better than Christina tapinaldo penaldo but it didnt last long.
“ at peak he was better than Christina tapinaldo penaldo but it didn’t last long “ - stupid dirty Indian 🤓
@@RaeeeCarpenter im not even indian not even close to asia . Keep crying tapinaldo fan from africa . Your goat is in ranked 80 farmers league worse than Lukaku and Rashford. Garbage D'Or loading
He is a traitor.
If Liverpool had good owner back when Torres was there he might have been the greatest Liverpool player ever
Liverpool didn’t name him El Niño he was known by that at Atleti
