    Great playing man! It was fun! Definitely want another crack vs you when you are back. I’ll train some singles and get ready haha. Too much doubles for me😂

    Hi, Kevin. Really enjoying your channel. That was an interesting matchup. Lukas has such smooth, almost effortless strokes. But, your tenacity and consistency won the day.

    Loading into the forehand is very educational. Can see the timing we’re missing a few levels down! Look forward to following along your journey. Best of luck boys!

    Lukas has a nice game. I bet he is a beast on the doubles court. He nuked a few of those forehands and he has those crafty slices that make for a lot of variety.
    Kevin your backhand looked a lot stronger. Hopefully youre all good now from that injury. Nice work.

    Amazing timing and discipline! Be warned that your opponent perfectly matched your game (except for the slice) and allowed you to fully express your playing style. Be prepared for tougher challenges against more difficult opponents. Thank you for the content and keep it up!

    Hey Kevin, what do you string with? That "lucky" shot at 4:10 is exactly the kind of performance I look for on slightly mishit topspin shots.

    • @kvnliang

      Haha I use 4g strung at 52lb. Not sure if that's helpful lmao

    You definitely had advantages with your speed around the court and your shot tolerance. Obviously, I only have this one match to judge his shot tolerance, but it makes sense, since he is more of a doubles specialist, that his groundstroke shot tolerance would be less than yours.
    Lukas' greatest strength is his forehand power. Unfortunately, he was making a lot of errors on his forehand, so he apparently had to back off on his power which greatly contributed to him not being competitive enough.
    You definitely had an excellent performance by pressing your advantages to put Lukas into bad positions! Well done!

      You got it! I play ad side and go inside out. Backhand is better off the ad side too. Chip and come in or rip. I also was off of 7 matches in 3 days prior haha so I was dead. Couldn’t move. But you are absolutely correct! Thanks for watching:)

    Great playing, Kevin! Your footwork outclassed your opponent by leaps and bounds, and you did a good job at the net. Was he injured or coming back from an injury? He didn't seem to want to move much. Also, as a doubles player, I would have expected him to serve and volley or chip and charge more.

      This is me. Yea. I was fresh off a tournament. 7 matches in 3 days. I was dying. Back was very sore. But Kevin would have killed me no matter what. I HATE singles haha

      @lukassanidas7159 Haha. That explains a lot. If you ever come out to the Bay Area, we should play doubles. I love playing at the net.

      I think I can hang with low to maybe mid 5.0s in singles (depending on region lol) but need to improve to be able to play at level more consistently. My game fluctuates more than I’d like it to

    His backhand cant attack, it seems. Just slices and soft hits. But that forehand is definitely mean

    Both players tosses is way too vertical, majority of your tosses you landed on the baseline. You can easily achieve your fastest serve just by throwing it a little deeper in

    That dude’s current 4.5 and former D3 player?? He can’t move. Dude he’s even too heavy to split-step properly. Just hit drop shots on him you will win, guaranteed!

      I was off 7 matches in 3 days of a tournament. I couldn’t move. Kevin played against me in high school and can attest when I am fresh, I am very good. I was off a back injury from the tourney. Was on pain killers all match

      Thanks for making fun of my weight! Would love to see you play Kevin, and do what I did in college and tournaments:) It’s easy to hide behind a keyboard. Go out and play and let the play speak. I am not the best but my results, as Kevin showed speak for themselves. But thanks for the kind words haha

      @diamondspa7253 10 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @ My apologies for the weight comment. I do play 3-4 times a week. But if I drop shot you what are you gonna do about it? It’s not hard for me to drop shot you since you like to slice back even with your forehead. I’m just saying that’s gonna be my game plan if I’m playing you. Would it work or not?

  • @Bidenlost

    I think you lean back cause your grip is so extreme. You played this game really good wish I could play half this good.

    • @DiscoGoat1
      @DiscoGoat1 10 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Usually leaning back is because of being out of position. Even with the extreme grip, he should still be able to step forward into the stroke.
      But Kevin would also wipe the floor with me in singles, so take it with a grain of salt. 😅
