    Excellent variety-range!
    The coolest pop-ups has to go to the C4 because* of the unique 180 degree flip, with the NSX in 2nd with their sleekest profile, size and look, but was so glad to see the Toyota ALL-TRAC repped but I kinda felt bad when the audio from Serge's dialog got overlapped in distortion while Chris Green was telling us about his superb, (time capsule), example of a Prelude-his is super clean and so nice looking. Loved the 944 Turbo too, (400k+ miles!!) sounds so fantastic, great shots of it tearing up the twisties, Ethan reps the car so well also.
    My brother and friends of mine noticed "You sure gotta a thing for cars with Pop-Up Headlights" and they were/are right! (1983 Trans Am in '84; 1984 300zx in '86; 1987 Supra(s), (2), in '92 & '98; 1993 240sx(s), (2), in '06 & now (2); 1995 C4 now.) * I'm biased lol, was great when a kid said "Hey mom, did you see that?!" "What?" "That car has the wickedest headlights" (I was like, "THANKS! - in my C4 just after I got it last year.)
    Thanks so much for putting together a vid on Pop-Ups, it was nice to see them the focused feature in a video, I hope to see more! Great group of guys and, of course, their cars!

      I wish audio was better...Because of COVID I had to figure out a new way to shoot with new equipment, was def disappointed with my mic.
      Returned it for another one so it won't happen again!

    This is the best, especially since I know so many of those owners! Nice job to all. I especially loved the re-enactment of the pedestrian impact, haha. It would be interesting to know if all the cars have it, but I know on the NSX and the Prelude there's a switch that allows the headlights to stay up even when the lights (and the car!) are turned off. Great vid.

      Thank you! So random how so many people seem to know each other.
      I think you're right on the Honda Corp switches...Because I specifically wanted shots of each of the cars turning on from the interior to show people how its done, I now recall the Honda guys were like "Which button do you want me to use?" and I told them "the one that youd use in normal driving."
      BTW I LOVE the innocent little "chime" that the NSX makes when the doors open. My heart cant handle it.

      Tyson Hugie I also know of the 1982 Mazda 929 coupe that you could drive around with the headlights popped up but with the lights off. We had one way back in 1991 and I always used to make my dad do this and he loved obliging me as it made him look cool as well (I’m talking about a time when people had weird beliefs saying pop up headlights are prone to malfunction and so it’s a bad choice to buy one). Check it out if you have never seen this car. Personally, I still do believe this was one of the finest sports cars ever made for a budget!

    I miss my 1988 Honda Prelude Si. It looked like Chris Green's Prelude, but mine was in red. I had it for 8 years, and was sad to see it get towed away. I replaced it a couple of years later with a 1999 Honda Prelude Type SH, but it has fixed headlights.

    • @RetroCarsForever

      Towed away? What happened to it? Thought they were basically unkillable!

    • @JamesSarino
      @JamesSarino 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RetroCarsForever well, the transmission crapped out. In retrospect, it wasn't impossible to repair or replace, but I didn't have the budget at the time to get it fixed, and I needed a daily driver. It had around 190k in the end. The Type SH (which is in Ficus Green Pearl) I still have, bought it brand new in 1999. Its vertical-facing fixed headlights were ahead of its time.

      @@RetroCarsForever yeah same here in arizona. No rust, grwat car culture, and awsome roads. The mountain road here are beautiful, and driving experiences on said roads are exceptional. Also, if you get a new car, register it in arizona. Its way cheaper. My brother in California registers his boats and cars here. Also, theres less of a chance of getting in trouble for having certain modifications, and if you do, say you just got the car and planning to restore it.

      @storypunman 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RetroCarsForever Yes, bought it brand new when I was 20 years old and working for a Toyota dealer. Back then I had 3 cars to pick from, Corolla GTS, MR2 and Celica(all pop up headlights, love em). Always wanted the MR2, but my parents talked me out of it by telling me I could only take one friend with me and I would have to choose who goes and who takes the bus. The Celica was the right car for me both at the time and after when I had two kids that fit nicely in the small back seats. I did almost buy a MR2 twice in the last 5 years to add to it, but have since decided to pass. Space problem, that boat you see in my video would have to be moved to fit the MR2 in the garage, and that was creating another issue. Thanks for your video.
