The beach playground photo turned out incredible, made me feel a certain type of way. Also the mall, 'brick dimension', square thing in the water... I can see so many atmospheric eerie potential wallpapers in this video...
I usually never leave comments but I just want to thank you for the work you do. You have been my favorite comfort youtuber for the past two years. I coudnt count all the evenings I binge-watched your videos to ease my anxiety, I just love your calm demeanor and dry humor. And Im so proud to see your channel grow! Merry Christmas Greg
I absolutely love the chunky, loud snapshot sound that plays when you take a pic on the DS. People can really tell what you’re doing. 😂 Wonderful video! Merry Christmas Greg!!!
I know you said you love making videos so I know you don't need to hear this but you're such a great creator/person from what I can tell never stop greg you're great.
So many bangers in this one. I really liked the picnic tables on the dark really in the vid. I'd love to see more self taken, maybe with other outdated cameras if you have them?
The photo at 12:58 has so much potential, pillars that aren't holding anything up is prime Liminal Space stuff! My favorites are the copy paste houses, the daytime stairway down to door and that empty food court. Good job Greg!
6:20 Well if you stop and think about it every door that leads to a stair is a stair that leads to a door. It all depends on the perspective. Think about it.
It is SO WEIRD being in an airport at like 3am; because its just *empty* and *silent* . Everything is set up for there to be lots of people; loads of chairs, all the queue management ropes, etc etc - but theres no people? You cant even hear any people? You can go hours feeling like you're the only person left. Very creepy.
I love these (I like to write poetry and a lot of inspiration comes from music and pictures (saw some in this video that would make for great inspiration) I never leave the house (too many phobias) but this looked like a lot of fun, I may try to venture out and give this a try too (I'm very into spooky stuff :) )
this is genuinely such a cool concept the photos look sick, i like the dock, picnic tables, airport, and row of beach cabins altho the phone ones were rly good too
The photos turned out amazing, dude. Good job. Also, never stop jumping or climbing things. It's good for the body and mind, and you're never too old to have fun like a kid.
good stuff! a lot of very liminal imagery- some of them really hit the liminal button for sure... and i do think you have a bit of an eye for photography from some of your photos in this vid and the other ones youve done. might be worth looking into a little and honing your skills even if its just to take weird eerie photos for the channel now and then because youve definitely gotten a few nice ones - even if it was just by coincidence?
That very first image that you showed, the one with the white exit door. It reminded me of a house that I used to live in as a kid, and in order to get out side you had to walk down stairs into a door that looked like this. It was fine in the morning but at night I avoided going out because I found this door to be scary at night. And didn’t stay out long enough for it to get dark because of the same reason. Sometimes i would forget myself staying out late, and wouldn’t force myself to walk inside the scary stairs at night. I would purposely wait outside in-tell my brother comes down stairs to look for me. However this is not the scary bit. I lived in a place that wasn’t super maintained, dangerous things and people were always something to look out for. However in one morning we had a dog that we haven’t really seen before take shelter below the stairs that we were walking on. The dog was dangerous, it clearly didn’t have an owner and would definitely bite if a person got too close. My parents had to take responsibility and remove it from below the stairs. However this is the last image I remember seeing when me and my sister first heard the dog’s barks in the morning.
i love oceanside california. i go every spring for school break (i live in utah) and so seeing the liminal ice cream stand under the boardwalk made me really happy and nostalgic :))
You did an incredible job! I love a lot of these pictures and I love your videos. You do a great job with them and I hope you continue to enjoy making them. I have been trying to take liminal space photos at my college and they don't turn out this good lol 😂
7:06 Thats probably for trading books. Dont know how comon these are in other countrys youll see something like this on ocasion where i live. You can take a book from there if you leave thats why there is no store or cameras.
Yay finally you did it ! This is such a cool video, the photos look very nice ! And now I lowkey wanna buy a DS just to do some liminal photos lol (personal favs : 1:57, 3:14, 3:57, 6:26, 8:13, 13:11, 14:29, 16:00 but all of them are so great fr)
I really love the photos, but I think the problem that I have with them isn't the locations but I guess the angle you took the photos. You took everything at kind of a simple head on approach which maybe makes the photos a bit less "ethereal" or spooky. They are still really good though. Edit: nvm a lot of your shots are actually really good.
A lot of liminality is lost on me. Unless it is intrinsically weird, they just look like pictures to me. This does look pretty entertaining to do. The idea of just walking around in day to day areas with the sole purpose of finding something "off" just seems relaxing to me. No goal but to just see what you see.
I have a digital camera from the late 1990s that I wonder if I could get it to work on my computer. I don't think so, but it'd sure be swell. It's like 180p, and was designed more for webcam live conversation shit (yes, kids, we had that in the 1990s--there were even phones by AT&T in the 1980s that did video calls, though it was before my time kinda, I was a baby then), but had a photo option. It's funky since it's very narrow and rectangular.
This gives me an idea, mostly as an expeirment, to go out and take pictures like these using "older" devices, hell even maybe choose two or three locations to take pictures eith different ones to see differences on qualities or such, it's a grest idea umo
YES! finally validated about the evil bizzaro versions of food chains in airports.. these are really good. i live in AK and only took a trip to California that i can't remember, so you make it and New York look scary 😭
I've become absolutely obsessed with liminal spaces to where I've looked at so many I'm starting to dream of them(which is pretty cool beside my nightmare that included a very liminal hallway.. hospital or office building or something). Anyways, in a way all the pictures I find on the internet have become a bit boring to me. This scratched my brain itch for more and very original liminal spaces 🥴
You did a great job. Especially with those copypasted houses 😭

I've been on that beach playground before during the day, which just makes it all the more eerie to me
It’s crazy how the DS can take photos that look straight from the 80s and early 90s type quality
Greg is so underrated, give him more praise
I swear, him and Wendigoon are like the most chill TH-camrs out there atm.
Go Greg go!
Greg, don’t lie. We all know you just live in the world of liminal spaces.
You got me 😅 All these photos were taken from my bedroom window
It’s really difficult for me to get that liminal feeling from the first set of photos, seeing as that is exactly where I live and grew up 😭
😢
Maybe you are liminal
