  • In this video, I have shown how to make a simple non-contact AC voltage detector on a breadboard which can easily detect live and neutral wire.
    As this is a wireless AC tester so no part is connected with the AC line so it is very safe to use.
    Components required for the noncontact tester:
    1. BC547 NPN Transistor [3 nos]
    2. Resistors [ 1M, 100K, 220ohm]
    3. LED [1 no]
    4. 9 volt Battery with connector
    5. copper wire or strip [Alluminium Foil can also be used instead]
    9. Breadboard
    This is a very useful electronics DIY project as we all need an AC tester to detect live and neutral wire in the home.
    I have also explained how this Wireless AC voltage tester works so that you can modify the circuit according to your requirement.

    If i want to add a buzzer do I put it in series with the LED and change the resistor OR do I need another Transistor and go paralel. Can you help

    Is it possible to increase detection range to 6cm on 240V wire by modifying the antenna? This is to trace a live wire that has been plastered over.

    I made this device but in my device's led glow very dim when kept nearer to the ac containing wire... I dont know why?? Can you explain what is the problem in device? And how to correct that mistake???

    Hello, great video. Is there any way you can test voltage?

    • @TechStudyCell
      @TechStudyCell  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We can not measure the voltage with this. Only live wire can be identified.

      Tech StudyCell thanks for reply. how would you test for presence of voltage?

    I made this same project but it shows led glowing even it is brought near any wire without current. Why?
