    I thought this shoe was going to be a heavy, clunky mess, but when I tried it for the first time on a long run, my legs felt fresh after my run. This shoe has great bounce and comfort, I like this better than the Adidas Prime X.

    I really like the SC Trainer.... more stable than my Prime X Strung.
    Very cushy with good energy return.
    The tongue is gusseted on both sides, and the elastic used is thick and strong. Works so well,... could almost run without laces.
    Best lockdown of any super shoe I have.

I personally love it for anything other than speedwork and racing, and it certainly keeps the legs fresh! Wonder what you would recommend as a shoe for tempo as well as racing 3k-5k on road and grass/asphalt cross country courses. Cheers!

    Iv just ordered a pair of these as I love a high stack (saucony shift are my current shoes) and high cushioning (shift 2 not as bouncy as shift 1) and I can’t wait to try them out ….. I’m really plsd u said that they would hold up running a marathon at a slower pace as I was wondering if they would stand up to a marathon for me and from what uv said they should be fine so thanks for including that I’m super excited to receive these and I hope I enjoy them as much as you do 🫶

  • @catherinezettner7581
    @catherinezettner7581 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Do you have any concerns about losing foot strength as you increase the proportion of your total training distance covered in those (and any other plated) shoes? Or do you feel it's a worthwhile trade-off given the relief on your shins?

    • @kalvin.
      @kalvin. 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think for a shoe like this, the plate is necessary just from a stability perspective, and the propulsive aid it provides is a welcome addition. This shoe seems versatile, but if that’s a major concern I would reserve it for long runs only.

    • @BenIsRunning
      @BenIsRunning  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It’s not something I’m concerned about no to be honest. If it allows me to increase my overall training volume and with less shin pain it’s a no brainier for me :)

    Trouble with these max stack shoes that are I hear awesome like this and the prime x are they show up any sort of pronation issue and that excludes so many runners like myself. So glad Saucony has brought a shoe like the Tempus out. Loving its pop and stability

    • @davidernst5708

      Doing almost all my marathon training in the Tempus and this shoe. Love them both. He is underselling the stability of it. I have mild pronation and have no problems in the SC trainer. Much more forgiving than the Prime X which feels like running on an ice skate.

    Your shin splints might be coming from high drop shoes. Every shoe with 10mm drop I've tried gave me shin splints. Peg 38's gave me 4 days of nerve pains after only three 10k runs. Now I'm running in 5mm drop Asics Noosa and zero-drop Merrell Move Glove and the problem is gone completely.

    Is this running or stilting? This is getting ridicilous. We are starting to move into a territory that has nothing to do with classical running where records cant be compared and the right choice of shoes is critical if you wanna be competetive. Maybe a new category should be invented: Technological running?

  • @joshjordan-clough1084
    @joshjordan-clough1084 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I would not purchase these on principal that the shoes are significantly more expensive in the UK. I feel it is poor from New Balance to do this. Regardless of the tech in the shoes if they are selling for £160 in the US then that is all they are worth.
