Townsville is a major gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, the Wet Tropics and the Queensland outback. It's a city sitting under the watchful gaze of Castle Hill. I definitely will visit Townsville again.
I moved to Townsville in the very early 80s and at first I loved it ,but I found that most of the people were so unfriendly, did not talk nor did they want to mix ,I stayed until 1986 and came back to Victoria a much friendlier place,I went back 10years later for a holiday and to me nothing had changed.
Thank you for your efforts. Townsville looks great but is a ghost town, it's dead. Spent 3 weeks in 2014 and enjoyed it but definitely wouldn't live there, if your RICH AND RETIRED it's great.
@@elzbietapolec4011 Its only really dead on a Saturday morning after people have been partying at Flinders, its quite lively during the week. Do remember this is the CBD and is mainly a commercial hub at the moment but more unit blocks are starting to go up, compare it to Melbourne CBD in the 1990's everyone used to go home to the suburbs but now people are desperate to live in the CBD. Townsville is heading towards the same situation, in time.
