These videos remind me how much I miss the daycare dogs. I cant imagine how much Sam and Luke miss them since they knew them for so long. Some were just mischievous pups like Zara, Bandit, Penny ....
During my life I have had 2 Golden Labradors. Julie who Penny reminds so much of, Julie was mischievous but not very destructive. She was a terrific swimmer, my brother took her to the river with him just before her first birthday. He jumped off the big rock all the kids jumped off, then Julie followed him and landed straight on top of him. Then everyone learnt to jump a little further out because she would jump into the river with anyone. He came home and said to Mum, she swims better than I do. As she got older, she would hear visitors then pick her dinner bowl and plonk at the visitors feet. All the time with this look of “ they are starving me”. Mum would say take that back to the kitchen where it belongs and Julie would just waddle her big Labrador backside out to the back porch and lay down for a sleep but never took her bowl back to where it should be. Now I have my son’s Obi, who has been a character since he came home as a 6 week old puppy. He would go in between my George’s legs to get his head into his food bowl. His other bad habit was he used tear up the large packets of toilet paper. It would be all over the house though never touched the roll that was being used. My son would say to him that he was costing a fortune in toilet paper and he, dad, also had to clean it all up. Both Julie and Obi loved mud puddles, I dread rain as I am never sure when I will be greeted by a Chocolate Labrador instead of my Golden Labrador. Both hated the bath so it was always and still is a battle to get them in the bath. I think both are terrific dogs with fantastic sense of humours and loving temperament, they will make your life happy just by their antics. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for the flashback on two beautiful breeds of dogs. I'm biased but I have to say that there is nothing better than a Golden Retriever!! We lost our beautiful Ruby girl in April after 15 wonderful years with her. They are a truly magnificent breed ❤
We have a goldie and he doesn't retrieve 😂 He loves tummy tickles and is the absolute king of lying down on walks and refusing to go any further! He also loves kids and befriends them when we are on holiday, especially the lonely or sad ones. ❤❤❤❤❤
Annabelle you have a namesake in Central Ohio USA. Love Goldens and missed our Tucker who left us at 12. We now have a new puppy & thanks to Bandit, loves her piggies.
That the cutest story. Surround you New puppy with piggies. I would do the same thing. We have to carry on Bandits over the moon personality. He probably has more to show us. Enjoy!
This morning I made a guest list of all the dogs who MUST be invited to the Pool Parties. So far there are about 40-50 dogs from Day Care plus Farm dogs, Freddie and Kitty Rose and the Shelter pups who have been adopted, plus Bandit, Lucy, Conrad, Waffles and Jimmy (who wasn't adopted but I like him). Perhaps it might be better if Sam and Luke take over my List! I'll be happy if Daisy, Chester, Milo, Penny, Doug, Etta, David, Zara, Nala all the Dashies, and ..............Koda, Bella, and Buddy plus Uncle YoYo.........are there, plus Spaghetti and Arthur......
We've had 2 sets of a Golden and Lab and I can say that the Lab's loved to play ball and retrieve while to Golden's loved to tease the Lab's by steeling their ball. Also, Golden's are very happy just chewing on a stick. Our babies gave us over 20 years of happiness and 1 day of broken hearts, but would be happy to do it all over again, if I could. Great video, thanks for posting.😊
Dreamworld for dogs. Missed the day care dogs but great to see the stayovers. My furry grandboy got all excited watching the video with me and started barking at me. I think he was telling me that he wants to be at The Farm. Gee! poor boy.... like he doesn't already run around on a 10 acre property with a pool and dams at his grandfather's & furry uncle's place at least 3 times a week.....and I mean for hours , but hey I don't blame him. I want to go to the farm too. 😃😃 I remember my sisters golden retriever Goldie of 15 years, who's passed away since, but she had an amazing life to the end, and she got to go to the beach and park every day. The most lovable and kindest retriever I'd ever known.
My grand-dog is a big chocolate lab we love to bits. I recently took half a dozen cupcakes for my granddaughter for her afternoon tea. I placed one on a plate and gave it to her.....turned around and there was nothing there but a paper plate (hadn't moved an inch ! ) Cakes and cupcake papers all disappeared. Grand dog didn't even lick his chops as a give away.
I will forevermore see Zara’s eyes in my mind. Her dedication to save Luke in the water was probably the most uplifting moments in your videos. Will she be coming for the Pool Party???? Yes? Yes? 🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾
@@doglover1128 Oh my goodness, I thought I was the only one who remembered Bowie!! ❤ I was stunned the first time I saw him because he's the spitting image of my boy, Sancho, who I lost 5 years ago. He had been a mix of retriever and other breeds including rottweiler, and a 130 lbs of pure love, which made him the perfect Therapy Dog. I still miss him so much!
I have loved 3 Golden Retrievers and miss them terribly. My brother's family have had labs and they are just as amazing. A big difference between the two is the coat maintenance. You need to brush the Golden Retriever's coat at least once a day so it doesn't get knots or tangled fur but it can be a very relaxing and bonding time for you both. 🐾💞🐾💞
We had a lab x rottie. He looked like a lab but had the rottie build. Miss him every day. Our vet calls labs “flabradors” because of their tendency to overeat. 😀
My brother had a black Labrador named Jade. When she was still a pup, she jumped off a pier while my brother was fishing. She was happily having a swim while my brother was panicking trying to get her out the water. She was a regular Houdini and would escape from the back garden to visit our neighbour's garden. Jades' exploits made great bedtime stories for my niece and nephew.
My American yellow lab is the sweetest, gentlest, girl who loves chasing balls and ocean waves. She was so easy to train and hubby and I cannot imagine how we ended up with the best girl.
Rule number 1….when your Golden goes to the farm, they should never wear their good clothes. They’re going to play!!!! I hope you show Annabelle at the dog park and then at the farm. That’s one of my favorite videos. I know we’re i can see it but some people might be new. Annabelle makes me laugh out loud. Bev
What a riot. Didnt realise how much I missed them. I'm sure they miss you all. Good to hear jasons voice again. Thanks for the happy memories. Love from Ireland x ❤️ 💖 💕
Was thinking about the fact that I've had about 30 pets - dogs, cats, birds and horses - and how wonderfully crowded Rainbow Bridge will be when I get to it one day... but they're going to have to widen it when Luke crosses. ☺️🌈💕🐕💙🐈🐾🐶🌍
We have 2 black labs - highly trained, master national, duck hunting dogs; and a chocolate lab mix that I rescued off the side of the road. We are in the lower Mississippi Delta which is a big duck hunting area. Everyone I know in our area has a duck hunting lab. All 3 are food motivated😂 and if there is a mud puddle within a mile, they will be in it!! We’ve been married for 45 years and have always had labs because my husband duck hunts, but since watching DDFT, I want a golden retreiver!!!
Love these videos when you explain about the breeds. It truly gives people a better understanding and might help them before they chose a dog to adopt. We had Retriever Labrador mixed one time. It was the perfect dog. Still to this day I miss him so much. The goldens love their mud spa days more then any other dog. LOL
I fostered a litter of 5 lab puppies. I received them when they were 5 weeks old and I had them for 4 weeks. I also had my own Sheltie and cat at the time. The pups were beautiful, full of beans/energetic and exhausting.
My dog is about 48% Chihuahua, but she has about 17% of her DNA from Labs. She has the big Chihuahua ears on a body with the broad Lab chest, the dense yellow coat, and the Lab tail. And she retrieves!! Loves chasing balls and bringing them back. The Labs and Goldens are great dogs.
I think the difference is the length of the hair. I had a beautiful black lab that used to shed hair, in the house. After he passed on, I was cleaning and found one of his hairs. I instantly cried because I really loved that dog ❤️
Lol, they jump in mud puddles because they don't like the smell of shampoo, and they are put back in the tub after a mud bath to be cleaned by shampoo, so the cycle continues.... ♥
Both are fantastic breeds and absolutely the best family members. We’ve had labs or lab mixes for all our married life. We’ve had a golden lab, an almost white lab, a couple chocolate and black lab mixes. We’ve loved them all. We currently have a black lab/border collie and a black spaniel mix. The best dog we had was our Buddy the big black dog. He was perfect, my husband’s ride or die, his best friend and a one in a million dog. - except he couldn’t swim! He was almost 15 when he crossed the Rainbow bridge. Thanks for spotlighting these two special breeds. Another great video - thanks Ben! ♥️🐕🦺♥️🐕🦺♥️🐕🦺♥️
All my adult dogs have been labs. I miss all of them so much. I love seeing the labs especially Zara. She’s so in love with Luke. I love all the dogs. 🤎 thanks for the videos. I start every morning with them.
We’ve had two goldens and two labs. Both our labs (yellow (Bella Luna) & black (Magnolia-Maggie), were from wonderful, loving breeders. The desire to please and to have a “job” was very important to them. Task oriented. Very intense focus. Our blackie came from a breeder for pheasant hunting. The yellow, generic bird hunting. Both were absolutely loving and devoted to us. The goldens were a totally different temperament. Goofy, distracted yet willing to please. Both breeds were challenging health wise. Skin allergies were prominent for the goldens. Labs had longer life spans. Fourteen years respectively for both. Goldens unfortunately for us, one with a heart condition died at four years. The other sadly was hit by a truck. Thank you for sharing your beautiful experience with all these beautiful dogs. BTW…..your videos helped me get through the isolation of Covid shutdown. You will never know just how much. ❤ Take care Evans family.
Both breeds are awesome - who could resist those happy (muddy) faces 😄Hope to see a bunch of them at the pool party.... I'm getting excited! 🥰🥰 Thanks for the fun video, Ben
What a beautiful video. I have a chocolate labrador Maisy but I have had a choc and black lab. When I got my first Labbie a black one called Lulu,.the vet said to me they are not entirely like what they are depicted on Christmas cards.( He was right!) I had a golden and yellow lab at the same time. Love love love them both and miss them so much. I now have a Great Pyrenees who looks exactly like a golden but much different personality. Mountain dog …….
From my personal experience as lifelong dog parent. Black lab mellowest Yellow lab little crazy Choc lab mental Golden in the middle of yellow and choc. All super loving and awesome and hairy 🤣🤣🤣
These videos are entertaining and educational- a great way to learn! Remember the morning that Penny zoomed into the luggage compartment of the the bus?!! My childhood included a neighbor's curly-coated black Lab named Rocky; all of us children and our dogs loved him so much. Thank you for this recap video. peace
I love both breeds but have had 3 labs and they stole my heart and broke my heart. I still miss them so much. Thanks for this fun video of beautiful retrievers. 💜🐶❤️
Love both breeds❤️❤️ Especially given 2 routes - 1 dry route & the other filled with mud & muddy pools, they'll choose the latter & that's when the real fun begins🥰🥰🥰
Both breeds have got wonderful personalities .I used to work with a visually impaired teacher whose guide dog Elly was a very gentle ,patient and smart labrador. Thank you for another enjoyable video Ben. 🐕🐾🌎🏡👋❤🥰
Never had a golden but have had a few labs. They are the best dog if you have little kids too. Absolutely bomb proof. Our Jet was an amazing big black teddy bear of a lab and so clever. He knew how to use all the door knobs and handles in and outside the house. No one taught him any thing he just learned it, because it was useful to him. He could fling a screen door open(a bit like Bandit flinging the half wine barrel off the lure, ha ha in one swift flick of his wrist) It would be open and he'd be inside checking his bowl before we could even get there to open it ourselves. Only down side their love of food. They always convinced you they were starving hungry. I could never say NO to them, they loved food so much. My husband couldn't say No either. Lucky Labs are not above stealing if you do muster a NO. I lost count of the times bringing arms full of bags of groceries in from the car and Jet would skillfully relieve us off our very burdensome Woolies hot chicken without us even knowing until it was 80% eaten or you got the faint aroma of chicken. ha ha ha
I was raised by a wonderful Golden Retriever named Katie, who taught me my love of dogs. The first dog I got when I was able to own and take care of my own dog was a Lab mix (never knew what with, though we thought it was possible greyhound or some other sort of sight hound courser), and he was my bestest buddy, always by my side. I sympathize with Sam saying she can’t go to the bathroom alone, haha!! He was the bestest boy, would retrieve our newspaper to the delight and joy of all the kids walking to school. He was my hiking buddy, and though he was the friendliest dog around was also quite appropriately protective of me and our children when needed. He wasn’t the best swimmer, but I’ve learned so much watching Luke teach them that I will know better what to do next time. Thanks for this video… Both Goldens and Labs are such wonderful dogs!!
Some of the best laughs I've gotten from the Farm are from watching the mud lovers getting themselves as dirty as possible. Lovely
And it’s always the white dogs that roll in the mud. Hilarious.
Yes, so funny (not my dog at home but at the farm:Yes!)
Annabelle.. the Queen of the (any) mud puddle!!
Totally agree with this comment 100%

I lost count of the times bringing arms full of bags of groceries in from the car and Jet would skillfully relieve us off our very burdensome Woolies hot chicken without us even knowing until it was 80% eaten or you got the faint aroma of chicken. ha ha ha
Both are such lovely breeds. I’ve had the pleasure of 2 labs in my life. Annie and Bob. My brother had goldens. Such a joy to watch.
