Amazing build for $250! I paid around $300 for a Pentium G4500, 8GB DDR4, Z170 Gigabyte Mobo for K series upgradability, and my Corsair case (excact same one you used in this video) I could have paid less for used parts but I wanted to be able to nicely upgrade and get all the latest features. And I got an EVGA GTX 1050 Ti for Christmas :D

Of course it is, but if you are getting a 1050 ti, make sure it has 4 gb of memory. If you can invest a bit more, I suggest a 1060 (3 of 6 gb) or a rx480/470. (please don't mind my terrible grammar)

1050 isnt comparable to consoles. People really dont give consoles enough credit for how stable the FPS is most of the time. Sure, sometimes it will have frame dips, but the games are optimized to hold 30 or 60 fps well.
But if we consider paying online gaming on consoles, unability to buy games cheaper (instant gaming) or even pirate them, then you can build a pc for the same price but to play 60fps on max settings so... yeah, not going to even think about buying console.

My PC is almost the same in the video for $250 as well! I have the same i5 2400 cpu, 8 gigs of RAM, but i'm rocking a $60 GTX 750 ti and let me tell you. I can't find a game that I can't run. Black Ops 3, Battlefield 4, Rocket League, GTA V, Skyrim. Those games all run fine, except GTA V i have to crank the texture settings down to Medium to hit 60+ fps.

Awesome Video Dude. The Parts that I had found to make this was a total cost of $307. Though if I do a little more sifting I will probably get it down to $250 or lower. I like these budget builds keep it up.
Comptv, When you record footage I recommend Shadow play(Nvidia 600+ GPU Supported) Or AMD(AMD 200+ supported) equivalent because they enable just as solid footage without the as big as a performance impact. OBS is just way to demanding.

January of this year i bought a complete Dell Optiplex 790MT. Over the last 5 months i've upgraded the PS with an EVGA 400W, A PNY 120GB SSD for boot drive (stock 300GB HDD is now a game drive) I also am running a Zotac GTX750TI and additional 4 gigs of RAM (4 G stock). The only non essential thing i've added was a Blu-Ray Drive so i can rip Blu- rays (my use i don't re-sell). All told i spent around 345.00, on this setup. It runs what i want, without troubles. I am planning to start playing GTA5 later this year so planning an upgrade to a 1050 GTX GPU. But all told, i'm happy with the speed and performance, of this 6+ year old computer. I call my build Ebay, because with the exception of two things so far(A 2.5 drive adapter tray and additional HDD tray, bought on Amazon). everything else was bought on Ebay
Cool Build. This is very similar to my budget build, heres what I did: FIRST on ebay I ordered a Lenovo Power Supply Adapter Cable 24 pin to 14 pin; I reused the Lenovo H50 4th Gen motherboard, i bought an i5 4th gen cpu (u can spend a little more and either buy a 4th gen used i7 or used 4th gen Xeon cpu), I reused the stock lenovo cpu fan & stock aluminum square finned cooler which uses metal bolts instead of those stupid weak intel plastic screws, i bought a rear case fan 92mm, bought 8gb ram, bought a standard aftermarket 450w power supply and threw away the 180w OEM (NOTE techdeals says if its a 300W OEM power supply you can keep it & use it with a gtx1050), i bought a used gtx 1050ti 4gb, 64gb ssd for boot, 1000tb hard drive for steam library, reused the dvd drive, reused the lenovo h50 case and be careful because you will cut your hands up several times jeejee. Im getting 45 to 60fps on High 1080 in Dying Light, Boots OK into both Remix 3 OS & Pepermint 7 OS. PLEASE NOTE I heard amd gpu sometimes wont work properly with certain oem boards and they wont boot up if u try to dual boot into a Linux Distro, also in the bios dont forget to set BOOT to legacy mode. For microatx cases I kinda like either the 'Masterbox Lite 3' or 'Mastercase Pro 3'. Hope that helps someone. Uuuuh did anyone else notice that he forgot to install the IO Panel 'before' installing the motherboard? jeejee XD

hey guys just wanted to point out that I said the i5 was hyper threaded which is actually not a characteristic of i5s so I have no idea how that slipped in. I do have some hyper threaded CPUs in an upcoming video so check that out soon 😉
One thing, people forget one major selling point for consoles, SIZE! If your going to make a PC for killing consoles, make it small. Although because Mini ITX case markets are so small it makes sense that you used a larger case.
If anyone was asking..the 770 is comparable to a 1050..going price for one of those is around 80$ and when OC'd it can equal a 1050ti ...draws lotta power though
It looks like you misunderstood the console CPU cores thing, they reserve 1 or 2 cores for the OS then the rest are used for the games. So they use 6-7 cores for the games.
The arcticle says that they reserve cores and then says how many MS and SONY reserve for their systems respectively. Just a reading misunderstanding on your part. BTW while rewatching I noticed you said the i5 2400 is hyperthreaded which it is not. Not trying to be smartass here, I really like your channel, just make sure to double check your script and facts (or add the little self insulting texts to correct yourself, these are always fun and a mistake may slip by here and there).
Doesn't matter how many cores it has, a PS4 is considered a budget pc build. BUT that might change with Scorpio & PS5 which supposedly run like a gtx1070 pc build but at a much cheaper price. So Stay Tuned!
It won't run good but it might run decently, Battlefront 2's minimum ram requirement is 8gb which this system has and you could probably even get 16gb if you stretched the budget just a little bit. The graphics card meets the recommended requirements, however, your CPU would be falling behind a bit. Overall you could probably hit 30fps on 1080p in less intense spots, but you wouldn't be able to sustain it completely.
i built a gaming computer for my brother that has a i5 2400 and a 750 ti and 8gs of ram and a 500w evga psu for $190 (went to ebay auctions for most of it except the ram & psu from amazon)

WhiteTiger PSN Only the render is high on console for Overwatch. The actual graphics settings are set to medium. There are several comparison videos that phenaggle with the PC settings to make it look identical, and that's what every single one of them has to do to make them look exactly the same. It's not that the console's GPU can't handle high graphics on Overwatch, but unfortunately the console CPUs are so excruciatingly underclocked that they literally bottleneck the whole system.
I got a Dell 7010 (with i7 & 16GB ram) for $125 and dropped in the 4GB Zotac low profile (from Amazon) for $68 (package crumple discount) and i play all those games myself. I traded power for pretty in your case. I don't need a system that glows different colors to feel like a gamer though. I own a few Lenovos myself (even a killer 430u laptop, i7) but i went with Dell in this case and haven't regretted it. Later on i dropped in a 2TB SSD & i'm rocking all those games even faster now for about the same $250 he's talking about :) So, i guess my title would be "beyond ultimate for $250" :D
The list still holds up pretty well, the GPU throws it off as well as the case, but get a case that is still around $25 and the RAM prices have gone down, so by my calculations it would be still be around $253 buying everything from eBay.
Nice video and a decent computer. I started with a similar (but even older cpu) build for my first one... Q6600 GTX 750ti. Have barely $100 in the entire thing and its plays games very well.

Props to you, but I have to say, it's not really a console killer especially if you have to factor in peripherals like a kb+m since a console comes with a controller. Console subscription fee is equal to that of anti-virus subscription. You should've went for the rx460 for slightly better performance even for a Black Friday sale.

I was able to build a similar pc but with a i3-2120 that came with a motherboard ram harddrive with windows on it a case and powersupply for only 100$ Then found an rx460 for a good price then sold the entire system for 250$ but I had fun building it and the guy I sold it to was cool
I calculated everything and the total came to 371.71 cents which is still a pretty good price for that performance. Next time don't get people's hopes up by talking about Black Friday sales. Always state the normal price. You can get a console for 120 dollars cheaper than this so it's not really a console killer.

It looks like you misunderstood the console CPU cores thing, they reserve 1 or 2 cores for the OS then the rest are used for the games. So they use 6-7 cores for the games.

The arcticle says that they reserve cores and then says how many MS and SONY reserve for their systems respectively. Just a reading misunderstanding on your part.
BTW while rewatching I noticed you said the i5 2400 is hyperthreaded which it is not.

Doesn't matter how many cores it has, a PS4 is considered a budget pc build. BUT that might change with Scorpio & PS5 which supposedly run like a gtx1070 pc build but at a much cheaper price. So Stay Tuned!

How well do you think this could run Star Wars Battlefront 2 at 1080p? I would be happy if it could get at least 30 fps.

I think it'll do fine considering it was able to go ultra with most games over 40 fps

It won't run good but it might run decently, Battlefront 2's minimum ram requirement is 8gb which this system has and you could probably even get 16gb if you stretched the budget just a little bit. The graphics card meets the recommended requirements, however, your CPU would be falling behind a bit. Overall you could probably hit 30fps on 1080p in less intense spots, but you wouldn't be able to sustain it completely.

WhiteTiger PSN Only the render is high on console for Overwatch. The actual graphics settings are set to medium. There are several comparison videos that phenaggle with the PC settings to make it look identical, and that's what every single one of them has to do to make them look exactly the same. It's not that the console's GPU can't handle high graphics on Overwatch, but unfortunately the console CPUs are so excruciatingly underclocked that they literally bottleneck the whole system.
Zazzilas Arden actually(at least the ps4) does not a have a graphics card and uses integraded graphics but better then the ones on pc.

I got a Dell 7010 (with i7 & 16GB ram) for $125 and dropped in the 4GB Zotac low profile (from Amazon) for $68 (package crumple discount) and i play all those games myself. I traded power for pretty in your case. I don't need a system that glows different colors to feel like a gamer though. I own a few Lenovos myself (even a killer 430u laptop, i7) but i went with Dell in this case and haven't regretted it. Later on i dropped in a 2TB SSD & i'm rocking all those games even faster now for about the same $250 he's talking about :) So, i guess my title would be "beyond ultimate for $250" :D

The list still holds up pretty well, the GPU throws it off as well as the case, but get a case that is still around $25 and the RAM prices have gone down, so by my calculations it would be still be around $253 buying everything from eBay.

I have not seen a green motherboard since I had a 30 pound tan box running windows XP sitting in my kitchen.
Nice video and a decent computer. I started with a similar (but even older cpu) build for my first one... Q6600 GTX 750ti. Have barely $100 in the entire thing and its plays games very well.

Props to you, but I have to say, it's not really a console killer especially if you have to factor in peripherals like a kb+m since a console comes with a controller. Console subscription fee is equal to that of anti-virus subscription. You should've went for the rx460 for slightly better performance even for a Black Friday sale.
+Y U No Get Gud yeah I was willing to pay the extra $15 or so for the 1050 because at the time of the video it was the better card in pretty much every game. Not sure if driver updates changed that though
I was able to build a similar pc but with a i3-2120 that came with a motherboard ram harddrive with windows on it a case and powersupply for only 100$
Then found an rx460 for a good price then sold the entire system for 250$ but I had fun building it and the guy I sold it to was cool
I calculated everything and the total came to 371.71 cents which is still a pretty good price for that performance. Next time don't get people's hopes up by talking about Black Friday sales. Always state the normal price. You can get a console for 120 dollars cheaper than this so it's not really a console killer.
The 1050 is a great grab, solid 60 at med to high settings

Well, well.... this is black friday build instead of normal build. Those prices are attractive, but hold on for a month or two, it'll be $300-$400 build.
Parts from older builds usually get too expensive and out of budget or just straight hard to find.
