for the moment we have just started the campaign. we are a task management tool and I do not see anything dirty in this kind of campaign. since we are actually targeting bounced users. and tbh most of existing project management tools are just copies of each other with ugly design and terrible user experience. we all deserve better.
The video quality always impresses me ! As an ex gamer, I was familiar with keyboard noises and mouse clicks. And I tried to find a mic to reduce it. You add it on purpose in this video and it adds so much immersion. And its relaxing like ASMR
Hi Simon, just me continuing to be annoying 🙂 Google will restrict ads: - If the trademark is used in an ad from a direct competitor - If the ad is using the trademark in a confusing, deceptive, or misleading way Source: Google Ads Trademark Policies
Haha hello Ervin 😁 You are very correct - assuming, of course, that you have a registered trademark (I explain this at around 1:12). And as you said, Google may even consider a complaint without a trademark if the ad is violating general advertisement practices, though, an ad simply saying "disappointed with ..." isn't confusing, deceptive or misleading in itself (even if it comes from a competitor). And please, keep being "an annoying dude" 😉 In a free market with free competition, we should annoy each other a little.
It seems in SaaS, companies spend the majority of their ad budget on competitor ads. I see that on Semrush for the top players on my space. I would move to hear your take on performance max campaigns and Facebook ads. Thanks for sharing👍
We're definitely not using the majority of our ad budget on competitor ads. But we're using a portion of it since they actively drive conversions. I haven't tried performance max yet. I like crafting each creative individually, and I know people had issues with ads showing up fairly weird around the internet 😅 I do use Facebook's Dynamic Creative though, especially for testing!
I clicked as soon as I saw it 😂 And I will say it here, I watch all Feedhives ads till the end 😅 Your personal brand is working Hoiberg. Thanks for this amazing content !
I'm trying this now for my Saas Simon. 😉And do you recommend targeting a specific region, or going global? Do you recommend to focus on what type of conversions, account creation or trial sign up? I ask this because there are a not less account creation events than trial activations, so at $100 per day it could be tough to get enough trial conversions. A huge thank you for sharing, these very specific videos are game changing, and you are the only one doing them (that I could find). Thanks 🙏👍
Hey there 👋 Glad you got something out of the video! And yes, I recommend doing some narrowing according to what's relevant for your SaaS business too. But not too much, you can leave it fairly broad. Remember, people are searching for your competitor specifically. You've already done a lot of "filtering" the right potential buyer right there 😁 $100/day can most definitely get you leads and conversions.
Thrilled to hear that 😊 SEO isn't exactly my expertise, but I was discussing SEO with Kyle on our podcast in our latest episode. He can teach you a whole lot on this topic. Check it out here: th-cam.com/video/oVhyd-P6g8w/w-d-xo.htmlsi=2-QYzaeJfOYNZvET
Hi Simon, great video! How did you manage to install the conversion? As my visitors get redirected from my main domain to a subdomain to sign-up. Do I only set it up on the subdomain or should I install it on the main domain too? Because my ads will run to the main domain, but the conversion to sign up happens on my subdomain, how does this work?
Ah, yes, this can be a little tricky. You need to manually trigger an event when the user signs up (on your signup page). But as long as the sign-up page and the main website are on the same domain (e.g. website.com and signup.website.com), Google figures out how to share the cookies between them. You just need to make sure people are redirecting directly from the main domain to the subdomain 😊
Trying to understand psychology behind this. Why those who disappointed with a tool google its exact name? And with these campaign setup if users google "X alternative" your ads won't show up, right?
Your keyword insertion won't work for any trademarked competitor. So if you try this DKI method, and try to target "big" competitors, you'll just end up with fallback text. And/or you'll end up with a fallback headline if your Headline is longer than 30 characters. Basically if you do this it's guaranteed that you'll have a low quality score and pricey CPC.
Hey Simon, please use a microphone condensor. Your “s” sounds are very loud sometimes and it gets very distracting when I’m actually trying to listen to your content
Yeah, I'm sorry about that. I accidentally recorded this whole thing on a way too low dB threshold, so I had to clean it up with noise gate and compressors during editing. That's what giving those spiky "S". I'll be more careful next time 🙏

A user could be looking for: "Best alternative to [keyword]" and your ad would pop-up.
