I’m sad that X had to make a video about this at all. Everyone who watches Hermitcraft and stays updated with the fandom also hears about this stuff - but I hoped against all odds that the hermits themselves ignore it or don’t even hear about it. I’m embarrassed on behalf of the fans that Xisuma even had to say anything about it; the same way I felt when Grian had to comment on demise last season or when anyone is just stupid online about content creators.
This is the problem when a channel becomes big, the children in the community will think that they ”help“ their favorite youtuber by threatening others.

You can tell by the tone of X's voice, that he is legitimately sad over this. It really makes me feel sad that people, like False for example, are being harassed. I remember that multiple times in Season 6, Grian had to explain during time lapses to not go after other hermits and to be kind. It truly breaks my heart that this is the, "Next problem" -Joe Hills, HermitCraft sees. I have invested more than 80 hours into watching them. I love all of their different personalities. If tgey weren't truly friends it would show and it's clear they are friends and that adds to it
I feel really bad for False. She doesn't deserve this because she makes great content and I wish people could take a joke. What people don't realize is that unsubscribing doesn't just lower the sub counter. It hurts the channel and can hurt the youtuber as well. Remember this is their job. A salesman makes money off of sales in the form of commissions. For a youtuber/streamer sub count and watch time is that "sale" and their ad revenue is the "commission". For the smaller hemits, unsubing could hurt them financially. I hope not but for most of them this is their full time job and don't earn much else where. I hope all the hermits see this and address this because this needed to stop before this video was even recorded.
I sub to all the Hermits, I don’t care who wins, I won’t unsubscribe to any of them. I do have have my favorites and none of them are running for mayor nor do they plan to. This is a fun series that I’m loving to watch. Congrats to the winner when the time comes but don’t spread the hate over the equivalent of a Minecraft tv show.
It's like the button, the hermits don't mind if another hermit takes a belt that the hermit wanted. Like everyone with doc. It just all fun for the hermits and they don't take it seriously
Exactly, though I did internally rage every time when they stole his belt ngl, but a childish kind of rage, like more of a funny excitement, or a facepalm moment, but it really isn't something to actually feel angry about, it's literally A GAME, where everyone is friends, they're trying to entertain us, I literally don't get how people could get angry
It's Sad but also Mumbo should do this, you know he has a bigger following (with that I'm not saying that Xisuma is a bad TH-camr is just the number instead I really really like him, it's a great youtuber but he is also a very good person) and maybe more people will understand this

Picklespit this was once me but I’ve kinda become a bigger hermit craft fan this season and I thought it was all just happening. But then that fourth wall got broken to me. Now I understand it’s scripted but I still enjoy it anyway. It just loses some of the magic it had before
@@Picklespit It's not so much scripted as pre-planned, like they know what they are going to talk about or what they are going to do, or the general idea of what's happening, but the rest is improv on their end to make a more entertaining show for the rest of us.
Quite a few people on Scar’s stream last week said they had unsubscribed from his TH-cam channel because they were disappointed that he didn’t have a mega base, and you could see disappointment in his face when the voice speaker read out the messages Scar does build small, but his builds are still mega as the amount of work he puts into the smallest of things (paths, houses, the trees) is unbelievable and I personally think his base is the best one so far

Why should people be mad? It is not like they are the one that is affected by the vote. besides affected or not the only thing that doesnt change is that the fun they have. It doesnt matter who holds the money, who snipes the button etc etc, the most important thing is the fun and games they have, they are good friends and i even see them have fun irl. All the harassment if it goes too far it would ruin the relationship among the hermits, maybe no more hermitcraft. If that happens we blame those ppl that ruined it all.
Tbh I think it probably is just younger children that are so passionate about their favourite hermit, and don't fully understand that there are human beings behind the characters in hermitcraft too. Anyone who generally watches hermitcraft would realise it's a pretty friendly and chill place.
I used to watch mumbo and grian only not for Hermitcraft, and then I started watching them for only Hermitcraft, then I saw just how great all the other hermits were as well!

I'm so disappointed that people still think that a little democracy is the reason why you should hate everyone who is running against your fav hermit. It's absolutely disgusting. Even Grian had to keep addressing the problem in pretty much every civil war video in season 6. 'remember, this is just for fun!' 'please, I don't want to see anyone go on other hermit's videos and write hate comments.' 'guys we're all friends!' It's so sad that Xisuma even has to make this video in the first place. I think grian and mumbo need to address this on their main channels. It’s good that you address this but only the more mature hermitcraft fans watch these videos so the ones who need to see it won’t
I think he talked about it a few episodes ago. Also, this is talked about every season because it happens more and more because with every new season Hermitcraft gets bigger.

@@Masked_Vigilant3 I saw ton of comments on Grian's Instagram like, "when is the new episode?" and one comment was like: 'I DM'd him he will upload today' At that time I wondered how many stupid questions they get to their DMs like that. Grian told us many times that he wants to make quality videos and he grinds off camera a lot. I even watched his old S6 livestream. He is too nice. He went mining for diamonds and quit because he didn't want to disappoint the chat and tried to do different things. I don't mind watching Grian collect sand. But if he's not comfortable I'll respect his decision. For example Tango doesn't do resource gathering on stream, he mainly does building and redstone. With X it can be anything but I still watch it because I work on my computer and just listen to him as a podcast. Rendog has great streams. First time watched Jevin streaming, changed a lot of my opinion on him. Great guy. Hypno is a funny dude 😂 He seems a lil bit rude but that's what he is: he answers straight, he doesn't like stupid questions and he uses a lot of sarcasm. Xb is like the nicest person. False does a lot of building and mining on the livestream. Iskall doesn't stream a lot but it's fun always. I love watching him while I eat something. Scar's streams are very cute, he's a very sweet person.
False is my favourite Hermit and seeing people harass her is just... It's heartbreaking. She puts in so much good work into her builds, she is always up for a laugh or a prank. As soon as the idea of a mayor got floated around, I thought "False was mayor of Falsewell and that was brilliant, she'd make a great mayor of the Cowmerical district". But it doesn't matter if she wins. We all win because of the great content that comes out of this mayoral race. Posters that beautify the district, interviews with all the hermits in the herald... These are friends working together and having fun together, and great content comes from that. Lets drown out the hate with love.
I live her 2 , last time I watched hypno and xb streams there were like 10 people who constantly spammed mumbo for mayor, this people are probably only 8 years old or bots, xb and hypno were so annoyed and banned the words mumbo and mayor in their chats

He probably understands they dont intend to be toxic. There is a hero and villain for a reason. People almost like to have someone to dislike more then they do someone to like. Honestly she should play it up and be the heal even though that sounds strange for someone as nice as her.
Let's also remember that a lot of these kids are... well, literal kids (or teenagers). There's no use condemning them when all that should be done is to teach them. Man, even some adults do act this way and they too will hopefully learn to think before acting.

Grian does have a pretty toxic fan base, since he is technically the most “popular” hermit, having over 4 million subscribers, it is given that he will have the most “toxic” people of anyone, so grian has to tell his fans this since his fans are usually the ones that throw a fit if grian doesn’t win, to grian’s fans, grian always had to have the last laugh
This is probably going to get buried but anyways: Hermitcraft at its core is about friendship. It's about the comradery that you see between a group of friends and how they interact with one another within a Minecraft server. Every interaction between the hermits is friendly and lighthearted in nature, and that includes competitions like Demise, Head Games and the Mayoral Campaigns, as well as the banter and occasional pvp between them. The pranks, roleplay and the competition show this in an especially bright light. It's entertaining for both the viewer and the hermits, it's incredibly wholesome and it forges strong bonds between people. They do these things because it's fun for them. It gives them reason to play together and have this comradery. So remember that everyone on the server is friends with one another. Mumbo, False and all the other mayor candidates are friends with one another. All the hermits in general are friends. With even a basic understanding of friendship you would know that friends don't like to watch each other go through negative experiences and getting harassed, and I know as well as you that none of them want this. None of the hermits want any of the others to experience the hostility over something so stupid as a silly competition between friends when all they want is good vibes, good times, shenanigans and comradery. The toxic comments were (and are) incredibly dumb. Not only do the other hermits really *not* want this to happen to their friends, it also reflects poorly on them as content creators and the community surrounding Hermitcraft. By behaving this way and saying these things you suck a lot of the enjoyment out of it not only for viewers, but especially for the creators themselves. It's really sad to see that it even had to be addressed in the first place.

Some words even have entirely different words for the exact same thing, but it doesn't necessarily mean it's incorrect. An example is armour/armor and color/ colour. Listening to this makes me think about a young cousin I have. He's 9 years old and ADHD. He looooves watching minecraft content, and he's totally the type that would do this. He's very egocentric, with a self-centered view of the world, and empathy just isn't a thing he gets yet. He's still stuck in this stage of development where people aren't really people to him. Everyone goes through this stage when they're young, and of course, some take longer than others to grow out of it. Some of what's happening to False sounds just like this; like when elementary kids have a fight, and instantly say "You're not my friend anymore!" because they don't know how to deal with someone not working to their self-centered internal script, and anger is a default response to "You're not doing it right!"
I also have ADHD and around 9-10 years old I was prescribed medication and saw a therapist. It really helped me, it could help your cousin too. Now I don't really think suggesting this to your aunt/uncle would be a particularly good idea.
@Cate the Fox while I agree with your points the part about boys and girls developing finer points of empathy, I do agree with this. BUT I do think that it can vary from person to person, and that sometimes some boys develop this kind of empathy Earlier, for example a few of my friends have been kind of bullied and they are a lot more empathetic than a lot of other kids that I know. So what I’m trying to say is that it’s not just all boys develop here and all girls develop here, it can vary between people.

Man I m watching mumbo for 2 years and Hermitcraft from S6(when hippies stuff happened) then I subscribed to all of the hermits. Didn't found a single reason to hate any of them. They'll r unique and awesome people. Some kids(by brain) needs to grow up.
I started watching at beginning of season 6 because my friend reccomened it to me, and I watched season 5, 4, 6, 7 & subbed to most active hermits. But why does that matter long we watched them?
People are even in *Terraria* streams spamming "FALSE FOR MAYOR" "MUMBO FOR MAYOR" And I'm tired. Terraria is an entirely different game, and HermitCraft is only a small part of Minecraft, and HC doesn't have *any* part in Terraria. So what, you like watching Minecraft. Maybe some don't. But an *entirely* different channel's livestream is *NOT* a place to go for a mayoral campaign.
As a grain fan I am depressed as it seems it's his fans that seem to take this sort of thing more seriously like pressuring ely into remixing his door song and harrasing hermits who pranked him, tbh I'm surprised it hasn't been addressed in a full video before
I watch false’s streams and her chat has gotten so negative lately. Fans of other hermits are coming to her streams and have been really disrespectful. It’s really sad to see.

The general storyline is usually planned, I think Grian said this once. But whatever happens throughout is them just playing as friends. And people need to realise that all the hermits are just having fun with each other.
Honestly the fact some people are saying "If False wins then I'll unsubscribe" is disgusting, the entire Hermitcraft server is built upon not just Minecraft but friendship. I found hermit craft by watching mumbo Found his videos with grian. That's how I found grian X's videos popped up ( the snapshot videos ) Then found Mumbo's video schedule in his description and found a hermitcraft video I started watching before the hippie stuff happened in S6 and that's how I got to find Scar, Doc, X and Iskall
Honestly, the harassment of false makes me actually wanna support her even more than Mumbo. Even though at home with my bf we are joking to eachother while watching other hermits "only mumbo!!" "mumbo jumbo only true mayor!" because he's so sweet and lovely and has a spot in our hearts. But they're all so lovely, the whole situation just makes me wanna nonironically support get gorgeous and when it stops being ironic and fun it's only minecraft itself left. It stops being a fun thing to watch when I'm truly concerned with the people involved. I feel like they destroyed the race for everybody. Edit: Not saying I'm the victim in this situation, it's just that I don't feel people harassing see the whole social consequence of this situation
No, that's fine. It's okay to overly support your hermit, but what's wrong with the fans xisuma was talking about is that they're hurting other hermits. I always do that for Grian in the civil war, but not really hate the other teams.

As a long time Grian fan, I’m so disappointed in the fanbase for being consistently toxic. This has happened over and over; the EVO Smp, the Civil War, Demise, and now the mayoral campaign. I really thought people would’ve gotten it by now that it’s all for fun. Also I’m really disappointed about all of the hate False is getting because she’s such a lovely person. She hasn’t mentioned anything in her videos but words can hurt. I hope she’s okay.
I honestly didn't even know there was drama about Demise and the mayor campaign. I've watched Hermitcraft a lot on Nintendo Switch TH-cam where the comment section is inaccessible, so ignorance really is bliss here. Makes me wonder how different TH-cam would feel if you never looked into the comment sections.

Hermits are for the most part very stoic. They know how to play the game and respond to it well. They don’t destroy their keyboard over falling to lava. They just get one with life for the most part. Many of them have been doing this for years, so they’re used to it.

I am a kid myself and even I understand that all these hermits are friends and are just having fun. I do also own a server for my friends and do things like this quite often. But I am still embarrassed as a fan of all of the hermits that other people are harassing other hermits. I hope that people will come to realize that all hermits are friends and all the competitions are fun and games. I hope False is ok, she is a very nice person.

The lever of emotional maturity X shows on this channel is admirable and it's quickly turning him into my favourite hermit to watch. Still it is immensely unfortunate to see some bad actors taking a minecraft election so seriously and my heart goes out to False and encourage her to continue doing her best. Your voice breaks my heart. I personally find Grian's etc. content the most enjoyable (although other people have great content in their own way, I like to watch pretty much everyone) but I kind of really dislike a lot of his followers' actions. That's why I've been watching less, recently, because a lot of the communities' interactions have seemed genuinely toxic (and unfortunately they are also seem to be the most visible).
All though reddit can be great for communities, It breeds mob mentality . I was seeing Mumbo for mayor in comments of absolutely random videos . Mumbo being one of, if not the most popular hermit in terms of subs and engagement gets favoured massively by communities such as reddit . People tend to forget its all just for fun and the whole mayor saga has actually been extremely entertaining. Just waiting for docs campaign ;)
It may also be proportional, since these sick fans are usually Mumbo/ Grian fans and they are the first and second most subscribed hermit at over 5mil. But as a person who primarily watches Grian for Hermitcraft, it is sickening
This is probably because of the subscriber count, (not to be rude to any of the hermits) because the toxic fans are mostly from mumbo and grian, and this kind of shows that because a lot of people only watch maybe one or two hermits, they don’t want a hermit that they don’t watch to win, they want the hermit THEY watch to win. And because mumbo and grian have so many subscribers, the more subscribers, the more people who will do anything to make sure there favorite youtuber beats someone else at something.
I see it is that time of the Hermitcraft season to have this chat, again. I'm sorry you have to keep saying this X, but it needs to be said. Yea, I totally agree. Even though I support Scar for Mayor, I keep my opinions to myself except for a few encouragements in the own hermits' videos. I've seen Iskall having to deal with these Grian fan-kiddos a fair few times by now. They're just entering his streams and start talking smack. All this negativity is an embarrassment for the HC community as a whole, really.
On the other side, I’ve seen (probably very young) Mumbo fans saying, ‘Grian sucks, Mumbo is so much better,’ and other kinds of things, just because they’re two of the most subscribed Hermits at the moment and obviously they can’t just coexist as friends. I’m sad that X had to make a video about this at all. Everyone who watches Hermitcraft and stays updated with the fandom also hears about this stuff - but I hoped against all odds that the hermits themselves ignore it or don’t even hear about it. I’m embarrassed on behalf of the fans that Xisuma even had to say anything about it; the same way I felt when Grian had to comment on demise last season or when anyone is just stupid online about content creators.

You can tell by the tone of X's voice, that he is legitimately sad over this. It really makes me feel sad that people, like False for example, are being harassed. I remember that multiple times in Season 6, Grian had to explain during time lapses to not go after other hermits and to be kind. It truly breaks my heart that this is the, "Next problem" -Joe Hills, HermitCraft sees.

The friendship on the Hermitcraft server is a lot of why I love watching. I am subscribed to most of the active hermits.
I am subscribed to all hermits even tho I don’t watch em.
I have invested more than 80 hours into watching them. I love all of their different personalities. If tgey weren't truly friends it would show and it's clear they are friends and that adds to it

I feel really bad for False. She doesn't deserve this because she makes great content and I wish people could take a joke. What people don't realize is that unsubscribing doesn't just lower the sub counter. It hurts the channel and can hurt the youtuber as well. Remember this is their job. A salesman makes money off of sales in the form of commissions. For a youtuber/streamer sub count and watch time is that "sale" and their ad revenue is the "commission". For the smaller hemits, unsubing could hurt them financially. I hope not but for most of them this is their full time job and don't earn much else where. I hope all the hermits see this and address this because this needed to stop before this video was even recorded.

Picklespit this was once me but I’ve kinda become a bigger hermit craft fan this season and I thought it was all just happening. But then that fourth wall got broken to me. Now I understand it’s scripted but I still enjoy it anyway. It just loses some of the magic it had before

The people who unsubscribe from hermits because they are mayor, are missing out on great content.
Quite a few people on Scar’s stream last week said they had unsubscribed from his TH-cam channel because they were disappointed that he didn’t have a mega base, and you could see disappointment in his face when the voice speaker read out the messages
Scar does build small, but his builds are still mega as the amount of work he puts into the smallest of things (paths, houses, the trees) is unbelievable and I personally think his base is the best one so far

Tbh I think it probably is just younger children that are so passionate about their favourite hermit, and don't fully understand that there are human beings behind the characters in hermitcraft too. Anyone who generally watches hermitcraft would realise it's a pretty friendly and chill place.
I used to watch mumbo and grian only not for Hermitcraft, and then I started watching them for only Hermitcraft, then I saw just how great all the other hermits were as well!

At that time I wondered how many stupid questions they get to their DMs like that.
Grian told us many times that he wants to make quality videos and he grinds off camera a lot.
I even watched his old S6 livestream. He is too nice. He went mining for diamonds and quit because he didn't want to disappoint the chat and tried to do different things.
I don't mind watching Grian collect sand. But if he's not comfortable I'll respect his decision. For example Tango doesn't do resource gathering on stream, he mainly does building and redstone. With X it can be anything but I still watch it because I work on my computer and just listen to him as a podcast. Rendog has great streams. First time watched Jevin streaming, changed a lot of my opinion on him. Great guy. Hypno is a funny dude 😂 He seems a lil bit rude but that's what he is: he answers straight, he doesn't like stupid questions and he uses a lot of sarcasm. Xb is like the nicest person. False does a lot of building and mining on the livestream.
Iskall doesn't stream a lot but it's fun always. I love watching him while I eat something. Scar's streams are very cute, he's a very sweet person.
False is my favourite Hermit and seeing people harass her is just... It's heartbreaking.
She puts in so much good work into her builds, she is always up for a laugh or a prank.
As soon as the idea of a mayor got floated around, I thought "False was mayor of Falsewell and that was brilliant, she'd make a great mayor of the Cowmerical district".
But it doesn't matter if she wins. We all win because of the great content that comes out of this mayoral race. Posters that beautify the district, interviews with all the hermits in the herald... These are friends working together and having fun together, and great content comes from that.

Hermitcraft at its core is about friendship. It's about the comradery that you see between a group of friends and how they interact with one another within a Minecraft server. Every interaction between the hermits is friendly and lighthearted in nature, and that includes competitions like Demise, Head Games and the Mayoral Campaigns, as well as the banter and occasional pvp between them. The pranks, roleplay and the competition show this in an especially bright light. It's entertaining for both the viewer and the hermits, it's incredibly wholesome and it forges strong bonds between people. They do these things because it's fun for them. It gives them reason to play together and have this comradery.
So remember that everyone on the server is friends with one another. Mumbo, False and all the other mayor candidates are friends with one another. All the hermits in general are friends. With even a basic understanding of friendship you would know that friends don't like to watch each other go through negative experiences and getting harassed, and I know as well as you that none of them want this. None of the hermits want any of the others to experience the hostility over something so stupid as a silly competition between friends when all they want is good vibes, good times, shenanigans and comradery.
The toxic comments were (and are) incredibly dumb. Not only do the other hermits really *not* want this to happen to their friends, it also reflects poorly on them as content creators and the community surrounding Hermitcraft. By behaving this way and saying these things you suck a lot of the enjoyment out of it not only for viewers, but especially for the creators themselves. It's really sad to see that it even had to be addressed in the first place.

Listening to this makes me think about a young cousin I have. He's 9 years old and ADHD. He looooves watching minecraft content, and he's totally the type that would do this. He's very egocentric, with a self-centered view of the world, and empathy just isn't a thing he gets yet. He's still stuck in this stage of development where people aren't really people to him. Everyone goes through this stage when they're young, and of course, some take longer than others to grow out of it. Some of what's happening to False sounds just like this; like when elementary kids have a fight, and instantly say "You're not my friend anymore!" because they don't know how to deal with someone not working to their self-centered internal script, and anger is a default response to "You're not doing it right!"

I also have ADHD and around 9-10 years old I was prescribed medication and saw a therapist. It really helped me, it could help your cousin too. Now I don't really think suggesting this to your aunt/uncle would be a particularly good idea.

@Cate the Fox while I agree with your points the part about boys and girls developing finer points of empathy, I do agree with this. BUT I do think that it can vary from person to person, and that sometimes some boys develop this kind of empathy Earlier, for example a few of my friends have been kind of bullied and they are a lot more empathetic than a lot of other kids that I know. So what I’m trying to say is that it’s not just all boys develop here and all girls develop here, it can vary between people.

Honestly the fact some people are saying "If False wins then I'll unsubscribe" is disgusting, the entire Hermitcraft server is built upon not just Minecraft but friendship. Multiple times during Season 6 Grian had to talk about how they were all just friends and any challenges were just friends enjoying time with each other

Honestly, the harassment of false makes me actually wanna support her even more than Mumbo. Even though at home with my bf we are joking to eachother while watching other hermits "only mumbo!!" "mumbo jumbo only true mayor!" because he's so sweet and lovely and has a spot in our hearts. But they're all so lovely, the whole situation just makes me wanna nonironically support get gorgeous and when it stops being ironic and fun it's only minecraft itself left. It stops being a fun thing to watch when I'm truly concerned with the people involved. I feel like they destroyed the race for everybody.
Edit: Not saying I'm the victim in this situation, it's just that I don't feel people harassing see the whole social consequence of this situation
No, that's fine. It's okay to overly support your hermit, but what's wrong with the fans xisuma was talking about is that they're hurting other hermits. I always do that for Grian in the civil war, but not really hate the other teams.

As a long time Grian fan, I’m so disappointed in the fanbase for being consistently toxic. This has happened over and over; the EVO Smp, the Civil War, Demise, and now the mayoral campaign. I really thought people would’ve gotten it by now that it’s all for fun.
Also I’m really disappointed about all of the hate False is getting because she’s such a lovely person. She hasn’t mentioned anything in her videos but words can hurt. I hope she’s okay.

It's comparable to Dream, good content but a few in the community take it too seriously and ruin it.
It happens to all content creators, but we should still try to stop it.
I honestly didn't even know there was drama about Demise and the mayor campaign. I've watched Hermitcraft a lot on Nintendo Switch TH-cam where the comment section is inaccessible, so ignorance really is bliss here. Hermits are for the most part very stoic. They know how to play the game and respond to it well. They don’t destroy their keyboard over falling to lava. They just get one with life for the most part. Many of them have been doing this for years, so they’re used to it.

The lever of emotional maturity X shows on this channel is admirable and it's quickly turning him into my favourite hermit to watch. Your voice breaks my heart. I personally find Grian's etc. content the most enjoyable (although other people have great content in their own way, I like to watch pretty much everyone) but I kind of really dislike a lot of his followers' actions. That's why I've been watching less, recently, because a lot of the communities' interactions have seemed genuinely toxic (and unfortunately they are also seem to be the most visible).

All though reddit can be great for communities, It breeds mob mentality . I was seeing Mumbo for mayor in comments of absolutely random videos . Mumbo being one of, if not the most popular hermit in terms of subs and engagement gets favoured massively by communities such as reddit . People tend to forget its all just for fun and the whole mayor saga has actually been extremely entertaining. Just waiting for docs campaign ;)

It may also be proportional, since these sick fans are usually Mumbo/ Grian fans and they are the first and second most subscribed hermit at over 5mil. But as a person who primarily watches Grian for Hermitcraft, it is sickening
This is probably because of the subscriber count, (not to be rude to any of the hermits) because the toxic fans are mostly from mumbo and grian, and this kind of shows that because a lot of people only watch maybe one or two hermits, they don’t want a hermit that they don’t watch to win, they want the hermit THEY watch to win. And because mumbo and grian have so many subscribers, the more subscribers, the more people who will do anything to make sure there favorite youtuber beats someone else at something.
