A lot of modern rock bands really don’t quite get the old classic rock sound or vibe (not that they’re bad), but these guys get it spot on and still sound fresh and new
I don't blame the bands personally... I blame it on modern production methods. I've been studying music production for the past four years, and the methods of today are nothing like those of the '70s. Back then the bands were usually laying down the core track live in the studio, and overdubbing additional parts later. That meant inevitable spill between instruments that tends to "glue" the band together and flesh out the sound. Today's engineers try to isolate everything as much as possible. I also think bands are recording in over-treated spaces too, where modern studios sound too sterile and lifeless. You look at a lot of classic albums from the '70s and they were recorded in far from ideal, makeshift spaces, usually using the Rolling Stones Mobile or something similar to track everything externally...

This is one of the only legit rock bands operating today. I saw them multiple times in 2022 in the Chicago area. They sound like this throughout the entire concert.

On my drive home tonight, I was in a pretty low place with a lot on my mind. Wasn't listening when this band introduced themselves before the song, but somehow the back of my mind heard "our new single" as the song caught my attention and took my mind from the shit place it was in, I was like "there is no way this is a new song, its giving me some 80s vibes might be a song I just havn't heard before?" So I kept listening and at the end of the song they introduced themselves again, "We're Dirty Honey and you just listened to our new single" a 20min ride back home I kept repeating that in my head to make sure I remembered it to find this video. I'm a fan now!!!! Great work! 🤘🏻🤘🏻

Very retro in their groove. It's the shit. Reminds me a little of bands like Dangerous Toys, Tesla, Guns n' Roses, Driving N' Crying, and of course AC/DC. Rock on.

Saw these guys at a tiny club in WI this summer. They were great! Met the bass player before the show & the rest of the band after. I requested "Last Child" after seeing a vid of them doing it. Not only did they play it for their encore, they even dedicated it to me! Fuck yea!! See you guys in Chicago & Milwaukee Feb 2020!
@Dangerz Own Zep were ripoffs too, dont forget that. And Greta Van Fleet have a few songs that arent really Zep inspired. They're both fairly new. They will find their own sound. But they're different than most other rock bands coming out today, and that's a good thing

I stumbled across these guys and wow! I love their bluesy rock sound. Easily the best new rock band I've heard over the last 10+ years. You can hear influences from the best rock bands of the 70s and 80s yet they have their own sound. I can't wait to hear what they do next!

No band sounds exactly like any other. But, like a good steak, it depends on the quality of the cut and the spices you add. These guys remind me of Black Crowes, Zeppelin, GnR. All good stuff, and I hope I can see these guys with Mammoth when they tour! LONG LIVE ROCK!
