Let me explain: The theme of The Long Haul is that Greg goes on a camping trip with his family because his mom convinces (forces) everyone to come along. This is fine but there are 3 factors that made me slightly dislike the book Number 1: The sense of relatability I had with Greg was just not there anymore. Melt down was the last one I read and it was was one of my favourites. It doesn’t really fit with the other books because of how unrealistic it is but it went into some of my deepest childhood phantasies. I loved how it was pretty much lord of the rings with all the world building at the end
