Ok some of the sounds on the TR8s sounded exactly the same as the 808, when they didn't it was more or less a pitch difference only, so my thinking is either you didn't match the pitch exactly, or there are slight variations in pitch on the old 808 machines them being created with analog components that may vary to some degree, because I don't think it makes sense to assume that the employees at roland would match some sounds exactly right, but then others they would make slightly different in the pitch? I mean that doesn't make any sense. So I would tend to think that the TR8s sounds exactly like the 808 that the team was using to mimick, that being that actual unit rather than just that model in general...
Interesting comparison but it would have been more helpful if the drums were tuned to sound similar.
I'm gonna take a lot of flack for this but I prefer the sound of the TR-8s overall. Thanks for making this!
well the first problem is it sounds like your tuning is all over the place. hard to have a comparison that way .
Great comparison, thanks for the video
MC-707 sounds nothing like an 808.
what? lol
Is there effects on the 707? Like at gated reverb?

TR-808=Analog, TR-8S=ACB Virtual Analog, MC-707=Samples, it's obvious. The 707 may have virtual analog but only for synth sounds.
MC-707 has drum samples, not Zen Core (only the synth engine)
Why have MC-707 another pitch ? But very good comparsion.
MC-707 has a lot of functions for that size.
Is it me or is the clap on the TR-8S way off here?
It’s definitely shorter. My 808 got serviced and they put the decay on the clap to spec and it sounded too short so I tweaked it back!!
Quite obvious differences is the decay or tuning on a lot of these. Not exactly a like for like comparison.
Yes, exactly. It shows nothing.
TR8S IS THE BEST
707 sounds better than the tr8s here. Apart from the toms
The MC707 sounds really bad, my god
