    Fabrics are so important when it comes to staying cool. In desert climates you’ll typically see people actually wearing more fabric to protect themselves from the sun, but they stay cool because the fabrics are breathable and light. It’s really cool!!

      i think this is so true! i watched some other cips re edwardian clothing as they tended to use natural fabrics such as cotton they were actually cooler than alot of modern fabrics as most contain a degree of polyester which holds the heat!

      What fabrics would you say are light for summer wear?

    • @Isabella-cz8fp
      @Isabella-cz8fp ปีที่แล้ว +61

      @@Oki3e anything made of pure cotton or linen. These are both breathable fabrics that allow air flow. The main this is to avoid polyester or mixed fabrics that include polyester. These are made from plastic and very easily make you feel warmer. Also, take into account of color. Dark colors will absorb more sunlight and make you hotter. Versus lighter colors which will reflect sunlight and allow you to stay cooler. Hope this helps 😊❤️

      @@Isabella-cz8fp Thanks, it does. I'm not muslim though, I'm christian orthodox, but I also cover myself. I don't wear short stuff like the modern world does, but the heatwave is crazy in the summer, so I'm really thankful for your advice.

      We do medieval reenactment as a hobby, and I have often found that wearing full hoods and long sleeves is much more cooling in summer. You travel with your own shade cloth. Additionally, they have done a few studies and found that these clothing designs basically create a chimney effect. You cool the air in the lower loose folds and the hot air is forced up and out of the top, so you always have a cooler draft against your body.

      @@asmaaX_XHijab (upper body part) always has been compulsory. But in past, niqab (face cover) was not compulsory. Now the environment met some conditions which made niqab compulsory. You should cover your face at least in those places where bad people might take a pic secretly and use it, so do it for your own safety. If you're too sick to breathe properly, you don't need to wear a niqab, Islam doesn't force you to do it for when you're sick. But remember, hijab is mandatory and you cannot leave it out. But if you're too sick or uncomfortable to wear a traditional hijab like this one, go for light cotton clothes. My mother is severely sick, so last few years, she stopped wearing regular clothes and made really light abaya with cotton clothes which looks and feels super cozy!
