This is my favorite van build. It ties with "on the wild side". I love the rustic woodsy look. Thank you so much for sharing with us. I'll look for more info on the "walk thru" to the driver's seat as I am a single solo senior. Might need a quick escape!
This is one of the most pleasant van build videos out there, it's so well edited the vibes are so earthly! Thank you for what you do, you deserve a lot more recognition !
We are soooo jealous of your extended Ford Econoline... Great build. The window view is amazing. Love the log cabin feel in your van. We converted our standard size 2003 ford Econoline conversion van. The biggest difference, we have a full bathroom in ours. I didn't see if you guys included that anywhere? But, we are hitting the road, again, in Dec 2024. Hope to run into you guys on the road. Considering we spent under 10k on our van and build and we are saving $$$$ a month, class B insurance is not needed. Don't let them make you think you need extra insurance. You are covered under standard insurance. Unless if you want to cover the build too, which they will only give you $100 per proof of each $1000 you spent to convert the van.
Thanks so much for all this info! We had no clue about that with the insurance. We don’t have a bathroom in our Van. It isn’t necessity for us and we are fine with using public restrooms. But to each their own! It’s awesome you guys converted your van. Hopefully we’ll see you on the road one day! Happy and safe travels 🤗✨
I've only seen one, maybe two van lifers talk about insurance but yours really blew me away because who knew it depends upon the van's age as well as conversion!?! I was curious about your rustic build and going to search your earlier videos so seeing this was great and I expect it'll get a lot of views as people are curious how to start and all that that entails. Good informative video but, wait - car build? Oh, and you have a Lovely voice. I like how you know when to talk and when not to.
@@Beanbugging I'll have to look for it. Perhaps you could include the link in this video or in the summary later for others as many of us enjoy those as well. Thanks.
@@DarlinAkaDarlene Good idea! Here is a link. th-cam.com/users/shortsVPGj0c7WTXQ?si=bh2aDblu2r1exhaM I also added the link to the description of this video 😊
One of the nicer van conversion videos. Congratulations on getting it completed so quickly. It took me months to strip my van. I am now a month into the actual conversion, and I still have such a long way to go; I am doing it alone, though.
Honestly, if we had to do it again we would take more time and not drive ourselves crazy. Our apartment lease was ending in a month and a few days and we didn’t want to renew. So we made it work. Thank you and good luck with your build!
Interesting State Farm told me and I’ve been with them for years. If I converted the van did anything permanent to it they would not cover me however if I could take everything out then they would so I had to convert my van with everything removable. That was interesting.
I think it depends on the state. That’s what we realized when looking around. Not all State Farm’s are made equal. There’s a couple in New Mexico that got more coverage than us for a way cheaper price with State Farm. Jealous lol
I have heard you can change your registration to an RV tag if you have certain things in your van. ie, toilet, sink, vent fan...i believe you need 5 off their list to get approved. Once you do, again this is only what i heard I haven't researched it myself yet which i should, its approximately $50.00 ish per year full coverage!!! Now i cant say for sure but definitely worth looking into. I currently have State Farm as well, love them, but what i pay per month is about what an RV tag would be for a year!!! Regular insurance doesn't cover items in the van whereas the RV insurance would. (This is only what I heard, not positive!!)
You are correct, we heard about this as well and wish State Farm wasn’t so expensive per month 😅 I think if we ever get another Van, we’ll take insurance into consideration earlier on now that we understand what kind of vans are acceptable vs which ones aren’t.
I just watched another couple who built out their van and they said for that episode they were sponsored by Sterling Insurance. I don't know if you've looked into them but if not it could be a possibility.

Also, the insurance information is very helpful.

It's gorgeous. Painting the interior of the cab was a brave thing to do, but it turned out great.
You’re right! It could have gone so wrong but luckily it worked out haha
Yes, I wouldn't have thought of that but I love it.

Haha thank you! Yes we actually car camped before getting the Van. We have a short video of it on our page as well ☺️

@@Beanbugging Thanks. Just watched it. Santi really has some skills so it was cool to see the drawers that he made and you've reused.
That was a lot of work and love the front color (sage?). The kitties get there own build :) You guys did an awesome job in the conversion.
Thank you! The color is called Rust Oleum Camouflage Army Green. But in certain lighting it can look Sage for sure
