The talk of a 25 year old earning 60,000 can be depressing for someone not making that kind of money even at 40.
You are in the wrong profession and wrong job
I completely agree with you. This truth is even more depressing.
But try to save irrespective of income, that saving helps for a rainy day
@@sunilkumarrai5558yes, bro
Thank you for sharing such an insightful session and knowledge one
I am 24 yrs old right now. I realised I had spent 10k on Zomato and 10k on Swiggy in 1.5-2 yrs. But i thought even that can be reduced. I have started cutting on food apps spending.
What opened my eyes actually:
A plate of Pav bhaji at a shop near my house(within 1 km dist) costs ₹100. The total cost when ordering on zomato: ₹215. WTF!!!!
Shocking!!!!!
I am shocked that you are shocked 🤣😂🤣
Mrunal, delivery charges kya uparwala bharega tere lie. Kya 14 saal Wale bacche ki tarah baat kar li tune
to sip karo ab
Even 10 years old kid will realise while ordering that the total cost of Pav Bhaji on these apps is more than double compared to the cost charged in the thela/stall. I think you should leave everything and go to school again.
@@pranitgandhi6832bhai 14 saal wale b isse intelligent hote hai. Ye dumb ass lag raha hai
This is such a gem of a discussion. Normalising these topics which are mostly stigma is such a relief, and more so on the internet today. And the best part for me is where Radhika says "Freezing eggs is like an option in finance". Amazing analogy!!!
Kudos to Shantanu and Radhika for doing this.
So sad
Q@@rationalthinker2724
Agree with Shantanu. At the lower end of society the wages have not moved. For eg a security guard gets about 12k and it has not moved in the last 5 years. This is because the supply of Labor at the lower end outweighs demand and the scope for wages moving up is very limited. This will be a serious problem as the situation is going to get worse
In Hyderabad an average security guy makes about 20k in a decent society . Actually labor wages have increased but not the middle class kids.
The best part is that the lower end of the society will again vote to keep the upper end in power. Vicious cycle.
The sample itself is biased. For one tcs/ infosys that flourishes, ten companies go under and some CEOs do not even draw a salary, so those CEOs are not included. Second, the salary of a CEO is based on the performance of the company, i.e. it is loosely proportional to the market cap/ profits of the company. So it would go up when markets(which are performing quite well in india) are performing well. On the other hand employees usually do not have any stake in the company and so their salary would not go up as much
Also, Infosys in 2000 had a head count of5000, today it is 3lacs
@@steamerSamayou need not do this much of math to know the salary of a security guard. Ask around and you will come to know.
This is so inspiring and such a great podcast. I am a mother. And want to be mother again. But dont want to do it physically. Want to adopt a kid now. This podcast just gave me strength to talk to my family and husband regarding this.
Adoption is very complex in India, there are hardly any children available to adopt (< 3 years and healthy) and there are thousands of parents waiting for their turn. We applied for adoption through CARA 3 years back and the wait time is still one and a half years more
@@LeoWedsLeo where can i find this data i want to adopt above 6+ is that possible & will be faster compared to

Radhika Gupta is a clear headed person!! It is a learning experience listening to her!! Also was unusual to see Shantanu out of his bandwidth at certain times!! Great interview !!
out of his bandwidth meaning?
@@pranitgandhi6832 you know he is a very good conversationalist, however he lost the touch with the words at many strategic places and camera candidly caught that.
Problem in India is everyone are experts and judge as they know everything than anyone! Its a bizarre. Radhika Gupta u have faced the toughest things in your journey. Kudos for upscaling yourself in the short-term and leading a great life.
Indian growth, India bull, social equality, and dosages of wisdom. Thanks for sharing the life lessons...middle path, trajectory, gen z, and amazon aggregator. Amazing stuff, loved every bit of it.

Hi Shantanu - your empathy towards others and self awareness of ur own privileges - wow
How true - the narrative will move down from AUM/Funding to profit/cash. Very sensible , heart warming conversation.
The best podcast from Shantanu for young folks like me. I'll try and make notes of these and share here later. Thank you So much Team Barbershop!
This conversation is blowing my mind…… I relate so so so much, wow!!! Such an inspiration for all of us ❤
She's good and wise. She doesn't have that annoying fake accent even after studying at UPenn
As 21 year old recent graduate women having ambitions ,there are very less indian women role models in such executive position to look upto .insights from Radhika Ma'am will be helpful in navigating my life.thanks for the podcast Shantanu sir.
What a wonderful podcast. One of the best in a long time ! Kudos to @shantanu for arranging this podcast and asking great questions and @Radhika - For being absolute genius:)
I'd highly suggest to rename the title of this episode. The insights of being a mother at that high level of career is more powerful than the first half of the discussion.
Wonderful podcast. It actually gets the practical challenges a mom yet a career oriented woman has before her.
What an amazing personality Radhika Gupta is!
One of the best conversation on barbershop with Shantanu. Thanks team!
She is now part of the top 1% and needs to consolidate her position. Yes, she can empathize with the 99%.The real fruits of growing India is eaten by the 1% and the rest have to survive on the crumbs and under back-breaking inflation.
Nobody is stopping you from entering that top 1 percent! Stop complaining, start working!
I have no interest to be in the top 1%. I work to make a decent life. Something priviliged lots, maybe like you, won't understand. So, yes I will complain.
@@liveandletlive769yes but it's still top 1% and by its very nature it is limited. Where do the rest of them go?
2. There are issues in the system which come in way of people rising to top. Things like Nepotism, classism, casteism, religious discrimination
One of the best podcasts I have ever come across.. thank you both for so much wisdom.
It was turning to a boring episode. But then after the 1:00:00 hr mark the conversation turned into a real deal. Do edit these things and put it up in the shorts. Very important to spread the word.
What a wonderful debate, diverse view points backed by sound logic & hypothesis.
What a great discussion. Amazing podcast with such amazing people both guest and host. Make more of this kind of good podcast.
Hi Shantanu, great podcasts and love that she was relaxed. A lot of insights for me as a 22 year old individual who have started earning recently. Is this episode available on spotify?
Amazing talk! I was hooked from start till end!
Hey Shantanu just wanna say your podcast is one of the best.. it delivers what it is suppose to do... Deliver gyaan through Real Life Business Leaders who has gone through lot of things & done thingss not like people who promotes they made millions from their 5K investments at 25 age... This podcast is one of the best seen after Dr. ortho's owner.
One of the best podcasts ever heard! All should hear
Amazing podcast! gives new sight view for multiple topics
I accidentally came across this video.

Commendable Episode, Shantanu! Keep the Momentum Going! 💥
Wonderful conversation! Very very relatable!
This is such a truly a podcast baring open the raw reality of things that are going on the points and views are something that has really made me and i feel should make everyone dvelve into it more on personal level.
Wonderful discussion, enjoyed every bit.
As always amazing episode, keep making more similar content everyday ❤🎉
Respect for her as a working mother. I could realize the frustrations going through when one have become a mother initially.
This is the second time in last one month I heard this India 1, India 2...earlier heard in WTF podcast from Nihil Kamath, when he hosted Kishore Biyani, it all makes sense, makes you think how much is there to know and observe !
India 1 and India 2 are topics discussed on lots of platform. You can also watch Raj Shamani, Sango life sutras and Thinkschool for more business knowledge (if you are already following them, good for you)
I heard this a couple of years ago from the mouth of Mr. Ashish Hemrajanani, the founder of BookMyShow who categorised India 1, 2, 3 as the UK of India, Brazil of India and the Africa of India..makes a lot of sense
she is just soooo knowledgeable
every question just answered precisely , just the answer no bs
Thanks so much for doing this!
I loveed how candid this conversation was. ❤
Great Podcast. Amazing. Great learning 🙌
Radhika ma'am is amazing! Thanks for this podcast❤
5:14 yes 2003 was the last heart break for me as well. After that I was mentally prepared for any defeat
It is very pleasant to know our going-to-be Shark of my favourite show Shark Tank. For that I am grateful to you Shantanu to bring her on the show and made us familiar with her because she is the whom I personally didn't know and now I know her its just going to be amazing to see her on the show. Of course Shantanu you are just a magnificent podcaster and want you to do these kind of different episodes more often because of you, I got to know the people and got there experiences to where from where I can learn and broaden the spectrum of knowledge.
Thank you Shantanu and love you 3000 ❤❤
This podcast is so meaningful and exceptional! Radhika Gupta is super clear headed and the way she answers every question is amazing and it is worth mentioning the interviewer too...great questions and great flow of it. Learnt so many things and rising motivated. Thank you! I have never had the patience to lend my ears to a very lengthy meeting with full focus but this one got me down and surprisingly I am not tired but energized. Thanks again!

Great discussion
Thank you, it was helpful.
I like the attitude of building trust. This quality is one of the top traits in the business and very few businesses achieve this quality.
Amazing conversation with a genuine content .....
Just one small suggestion, pls don't change frame so frequently. With each hmm from Radhika frame changed, i'm having headache within 15 mins. Why don't you have both host and guest in same frame together?
Totally agree
Why aren’t you adding these episodes on Spotify no more?!?
Truly enlightening conversation, will try and start a sip soon :D
Amazing, what a lovely conversation. Radhika is too good
The Key word is frugality. Also frequently assessing the value you put into any work
This single concersation made me start investing in sip …thank you for tht ….i am a 21 year old student…the idea of comparing to one movie one biryani is very import …the compounding effect is really astonshing to me
Enriching conversation
Enjoyed the podcast ❤
This interview is just wow ❤❤
Shantanu demonstrated a much mature understanding of the social equality.
Radhika not so much.
I thought I was the only one who noticed that. She completely missed or brushed off some of his serious points
Subscribed after watching this entire episode❤
Radhika is so amazing !! I really liked her wittiness
We need more such honest and deep content online. 🎉
She's good and wise. She doesn't have that annoying fake accent even after studying at UPenn
Hii Shantanu
We need insides of their company that what and how did they build your whole conversation is about her and her only please be also focused an her company what problems did she face and how she built this huge business that would be a lot more valuable.
Thank you Shantanu for doing these podcasts which are goldmine of insights and learnings.
LOVE TO HEAR BOTH OF YOU MORE.
This is so true. Iam myself guilty of spending about 50k this year on zom/Swiggy and other food deliveries ..
People are willing to give you maternity leave without asking coz you are at that position I personally had to go through enough trouble to extend AMAT for my junior and chains of emails to HR to get her extra MAT time. It was not just a hassle for her but me as her supervisor too 😅
Surprised Radhika considers her parents generation were middle class. Seriously!!
And she's upper middle class! Lol. Gets uncomfortable and says she doesn't believe in these things or something to that effect lol
Sir you are not uploading this in Spotify i prefer listening rather watching whenever i travel one place to another i listen to the podcast of finance and business if you upload im Spotify or any other platforms apps just share the link
Too good discussion
Hi Shanthanu, why did you stop uploading new episodes on spotify?

India has middle class bcoz India is one of the very few countries (maybe the only country) which has valued liberty, equality, honesty, hard work, merit alongwith social justice and capital creation. Remember, there is no middle class without fundamental freedoms and values.
